  1. I would also suggest going with a Ryzen 1300x or 2200g and a b450 motherboard instead of that less than adequate entry level intel option. Also the Razer peripherals are very over rated and break easily. I would suggest looking into options from Corsair instead.
  2. I pay $70 a month for a gigabit connection that is part of my city utilities. Fiber optic service with redundancy to prevent outages!
  3. this is probably not the right section for this discussion. But some cards do not overclock as well as others. Some, however rarely, don't overclock at all. Or perhaps the power delivery is not able to sustain the power demand of the overclock but that is very unlikely.
  4. Answers to the best of my knowledge: 1. If the air conditioner cools the ambient temperatures in the room it MAY make the available coolers in the computer work better as the temperature difference between the heat generating hardware and the air blowing over them (in one way or another) is greater. However your current temperatures under a mild to moderate load (as you described) are perfectly normal and not anywhere near a point of concern. 2. A power outage during any sort of electronic usage should not cause any problem. A power SURGE may, but your computer should be plugged into a surge protector at the very least anyways and if I'm not mistaken many power supplies have some sort of surge protection built in to them now as well. But no, a loss of power should not be any concern. Windows may just tell you that it did not shut down properly or whatever when it turns back on. 3. Task manager shows high CPU usage during games? Of course it does. Even old games demand the CPU work to display the images your GPU has rendered. Your power supply has MORE than enough power for any possible scenario with your given hardware. You could go up to a 2080ti GPU and overclock it and still have power headroom. 4. Turning off an electronic item should never degrade its life. Something mechanical with moving parts may be adversely affected by frequent power cycling, but computer hardware should be fine being left on, or turned off daily. It is personal preference. Just allow it to go to "sleep" and it will be fine. 5. As long as your monitor is not displaying any static image such as : No display signal : or something similar that just sits in one place, you should be fine. The main concern with that is image burn-in with LCD monitors. I never turn my computer or monitor off. And your last question without a number. As long as your computer has enough "breathing room" behind it to allow that hot air to move away from the computer you are fine. The only major concern here is if you had an INTAKE fan close to that exhaust fan and you were recycling hot air through the system. That does not appear to be the case so no worries here. Other thoughts - after looking at your photos it appears that your computer is on the floor, which is ok, but that does tend to create a more dusty and dirty environment. A dirty system can eventually lead to fans not working as they should and can gum up the fins in your AIO rad. I would suggest doing some cleaning around your PC with compressed air or similar to clean it out and perhaps move your computer onto a desk rather than leaving it on the floor.
  5. Not exactly sure what "chip in the back of the case" you're talking about. If you plug a SATA cable from your PSU into a SATA powered item (such as a fan or a drive) it should not damage anything even if the power supply is on. Now if you plugged in a completely new set of cabling into your power supply as in a new piece of the modular cables I am not sure if this could damage your PSU or what it is powering or not. It sounds to me like you have a short somewhere. And what do you mean the LEDs in the fans went on but were "Freaking out a bit"? A little more info may help us diagnose your problem
  6. Ditto! The first one is awesome! I am looking forward to 2.0! All of my ammo cans are full of ammo..... maybe I need to shoot more and make room for a PC!?
  7. While I see where you're going with this he did not mention at all that overclocking was going on. He simply mentioned installing new fans and having to remove the GPU. As long as the computer was off when any changes were made this should not require the use of the AMD cleanup utility. I would be more inclined to think that it is either a boot disk problem, or motherboard problem. Considering he mentioned it has a fresh install of windows I highly doubt this is a windows problem. I am still inclined to suspect the motherboard due to the onboard video not working and it not getting to POST with less ram installed.
  8. This is exactly why I support spyderco and ZT over benchmade. I have a minigriptilian that I use as a beater and that is the only benchmade knife I have ever/will ever own.
  9. Aluminum and copper should not corrode with water as long as it is allowed to dry thoroughly.
  10. I think Jayztwocents did a video on one of these fake GPUs from China that someone sent it. I believe it was actually a GTX660 or something... not anywhere near what they claimed it to be but the BIOS did lie effectively to GPUz
  11. Its not a benchmark, it is a CPU stress test.
  12. Sounds like motherboard to me. Have you tried clearing CMOS or updating BIOS? It is strange that you couldn't get to POST with half of the RAM and it also strange that your onboard video didn't work.
  13. I stand corrected. I personally have never seen a 1050Ti with a 6pin or 8 pin connector on it at all. But to be fair I am far from an expert. Thanks for the info
  14. Not to mention GTX 1050Ti cards get all of their power from the motherboard and do not require any additional power cable from the PSU.
  15. From a global standpoint extending life beyond what it is now would lead to further depletion of resources and overpopulation. Countries such as india and china would not be able to sustain their populations' needs. Infrastructure would need to be vastly improved on a global scale. For all we know, extending life far beyond what we know is already possible but will never see the light of day due to the inevitable problems that will arise from it.
  16. I would think that paint would act as an insulator similar to how clothing insulates your bare skin. Heat will obviously still transfer but the transfer of heat will obviously be diminished... how much would depend on the thickness of the paint and the surface area of the surface painted. Good luck with the project though
  17. Wasn't that the premise of the old NEXTEL line up? I remember I had a phone with a push to talk sort of radio deal.
  18. Considering apple hasn't really innovated anything besides alienating customers since the original Iphone, couldn't you say that Huawei is stealing and reverse engineering things from real manufacturers such as samsung, LG, etc? Stealing innovation from apple is rather a conflict of ideas as there is little to steal in my opinion
  19. You know? Honestly you are lucky anyone is taking the time to read your middle school level bull Sh*t. You level of laziness with leaving out punctuation makes you look even less educated than your hardware choices and for you to call me a troll just seals the deal. I am genuinely trying to help you here. I have been building computers for nearly 20 years and although I am new here, I am far from a noob. I suggest you take the advice that is given and just know that I will NOT be reading another one of your rants without punctuation. Can you boot windows 10 off of a 2tb 7200rpm drive? Of course. Does it make sense in the context of you having an SSD? no. You will lose a TON of performance booting from a standard hard drive rather than an SSD. But will it work? yes. I would generally advise against using used or old hard drives if you value your data... but that is just my opinion. Now your 6 line rant once again lacking punctuation did not answer my question, but I guess it doesn't matter. You seem to have come asking for advice yet not really wanting any. So yes, you can use that drive to boot windows.... I still contend that your hardware choices are foolish but you seem to have that all figured out. Good luck
  20. To be fair, your lack of punctuation is extremely distracting and may prevent people who would otherwise help you from even attempting. On Topic** You mention streaming and gaming... do you mean live streaming, as in broadcasting something you are doing? Or do you mean streaming as in TV, Movies, or LTT videos? If you mean anything besides creating your own content to upload to youtube, I still contend that your ram is way overkill. 16gb is more than enough for gaming at this time. you also mentioned "upgrading it into a ripper PC". If you mean upgrading to a threadripper processor I hope you know that you will need to replace the motherboard as well. Going from AM4 to threadripper is not a direct upgrade path. If a "ripper PC" is just some hip adjective I am too old to know about I am sorry, excuse my ignorance. Also a threadripper processor is NOT needed for live streaming if that is what you wish to do. A 2600X or 2700X is more than enough to do that in most circumstances. My conclusion at this time is 64gb of ram is overkill unless you are encoding tons and tons of HD or 4k video and frankly a waste of money unless that is your intent. However, if it is, you should definitely reconsider your storage options because 500gb boot disc and 2tb storage is NOTHING if you plan on getting into some serious video encoding. One hour of 4k video is roughly 110gb. So on your proposed storage, you could hold less than 20 hours of raw footage in 4k. Here is what I would suggest as changes to your build PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: AMD - Ryzen 7 2700 3.2 GHz 8-Core Processor ($229.99 @ Amazon) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master - Hyper T2 54.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($16.89 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: MSI - B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC ATX AM4 Motherboard ($139.99 @ B&H) Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($119.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Crucial - MX500 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($134.85 @ OutletPC) Storage: Western Digital - Black 4 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($169.99 @ Amazon) Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1080 8 GB FTW Hybrid Gaming Video Card ($684.98 @ Newegg Business) Case: NZXT - H500 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($69.99 @ B&H) Power Supply: EVGA - SuperNOVA G3 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($82.90 @ OutletPC) Monitor: Asus - PB277Q 27.0" 2560x1440 75 Hz Monitor ($229.50 @ Newegg) Total: $1879.07 or 1476 Pounds Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-02-14 16:20 EST-0500
  21. What are you planning on doing with this computer? 64gb of Ram is generally overkill for most applications and you part list also includes a SSD and HDD as well as a windows key which is a rip off no matter how you look at it. Legit windows keys can be purchased for $10 to $20 all day long. It looks like a great build list though, the monitor is likely the weakest link in my opinion. I would save your money and buy 32 or even just 16gb of ram and put that money into a better monitor if your interest is gaming. Just my opinion tho.
  22. Or... people could just stop driving drunk and act like mature adults? That seems like the most cost effective and reasonable solution to me. That way police officers can focus on the really bad things like murder and other violent crime rather than having to chase after adults acting like children.
  23. That is one hell of a build to only have 8gb of ram. As far as MOBO I would look into B450 or x470 chipsets such as the Asus ROG Strix B450F Gaming. And as far as the RAM goes, I would definitely double that to 16gb.
