This upsets me: Why ???? Why LastPass ?!?!?! Pa…

I will never not recommend 1Password. Although you have to pay lol.
  2. realistically most of the liquid coolers are the same inside. Most of them use the same asetek pump design. Just pick one from a trusted brand and it'll be fine. Would also be good to make sure it's compatible with the mounting hardware on your motherboard.

I am heavily debating if I should jump on this…

oof yeah. I'm on a 2080 and I'm considering the 3090 this gen. I want to run flight simulator at more than 40 fps.
  4. AnnoyedShelf

Just some food for thought. Are you investing c…

yes I will be buying a 3090 so that I can play flight simulator in VR and never return to the real world.
  5. No, they do send out pre-launch cards. However, they set a press embargo so that everyone releases their reviews when Nvidia allows them to.
  6. Excuse my language but this is retarded. The page file is there for when you run out of RAM. If you like hard crashes this is a fantastic idea though. You can stop Windows from paging any memory by going to advanced performance options in sysdm.cpl if you want this to be a reality now, just know that if you max out your RAM usage you now have 0 buffer.
  7. Embargo for founders edition lifts on the 14th iirc, 17th for everything else. You do realize that an announcement does not necessarily correlate with reviews coming out right?

Been playing the new Microsoft Flight SImulator…

@WikiForce The screenshots don't even begin to do it justice. The game is honest to god the closest I've ever seen to photorealism. Even simple things like the way light scatters through the clouds, and the raindrops across the windscreen, it just looks so vivid.

@soldier_ph Yes I have. It's modeled but not very well. the AI and photogrammetry do a really good job of building the world around you.

Really highly considering picking up some kind…

Not to mention I've been really happy with CM in the past. My Novatouch TKL is just about god-tier, I just wish the upstroke wasn't so loud so I could use it at work.

Thing is I really don't like the corsair keyboards. Never have. I just think the design looks too busy and dated. Picked up a CoolerMaster SK630 despite people hating on the design. I don't care if it sucks, I wanted to try something unique.
  13. Really highly considering picking up some kind of Low Profile MX Red keyboard.  I really like the feel of good laptop keys and am still looking for the perfect fit in a keyboard.

I've got 6 keyboards already please send help.

Honestly, I'd even apply for jobs I don't quite qualify for. It's how I got my current position. Anyways. Point is, if you don't get the job you at least get good resume writing and interviewing experience.

Chrome has always been the main Browser ! @Gegger

@Trik'Stari When was the last time you tried? Firefox had a massive overhaul at the end of 2017 that makes it faster and more reliable than Chrome. I used to have tons of issues with Firefox before version 57, but It's the only thing I've used since.
  17. Honestly I'm 90% sure this is bullshit at this point. Never have I seen this actually work. In theory it sounds great but in practice it doesn't really happen. Your best bet is to remove any power source and open it up as much as possible to get everything dry. Maybe even point a fan at it.
  18. Best thing you can do is to leave it for like 48 hours. Make sure there's really no more water. If you're lucky, it'll turn back on again. I've known people that have spilled entire coffees into their machines, unplugged right away, dumped distilled water in (to clean off all the sugar) and then follow it up with a couple bottles of isopropyl alcohol and have them survive. It's really just chance at this point.

Literal botnet browser Use Firefox please. Or at least un-googled chromium.
  20. Lenovo says my laptop is supposed to arrive tomorrow but the UPS tracking information says it's still in China....

I really hope it gets here tomorrow but I somehow don't think that's happening.

    GET HYPED

    oh my fuck yes
  22. I don't know a ton about the hardware you need but honest to god you really don't need much to run windows in a VM. Used to run 10+ Windows server/windows 10 vms on a quad core in college. Keep in mind that you can over-provision cores, especially if each VM isn't using a lot of cycles. What you will need is a decent amount of ram though, say 32-64GB depending on how much each VM needs. For software you're going to have to factor in the cost of the virtualization platform. Something like ESXI, or Nutanix would likely be a good fit. Could try Hyper-V as well. If you're thinking about going for a free version, make sure the software specifies that you can use it commercially for free. If not, management isn't gonna be super happy with you. $5000 is pretty low for a server, especially if it needs high uptime. You can also go the desktop route but may not receive the same level of support from the software vendor if the hardware isn't on the recommended list. It's also gonna be pretty hard to find a desktop system with a lot of PCIe lanes and slots for what you're doing. Obviously do your own research here, and don't take everything I say as gospel. This is just what I would do.
