  1. It probably will either be closer to between a 3070/3070ti. So perf wise the 3070ti is better. But neither are a good option and your better off to go with a 6750xt for around 3070 perf. And 6800/6800xt for above 3070ti perf. Unless you absolutely need av1 or the cuda cores. But if you game amd is just better for your money. Neither of the gpu I mentioned including the 4060ti will require you to have 1000w psu. You will be fine with 650. And possible 500 for the 4060ti but always go with more than you actually need and not barely with what you need.
  2. i suggest keeping it going for some days. if nothing happens then you know where the issue lies
  3. the 2070s is perfectly fine for 1080p gave my old one to my partner she is running it on her 1080p screen gets plenty of fps at intensive games. so honestly i would seriously suggest you keep it for another generation if you keep sticking to 1080p stick with the gpu.
  4. is it sag? yup is it bad? no. if your concerned you could also angle the cables better so they "pull" it a bit more back up.
  5. the ventus models arent exactly great cooling cards with a 2070s. so its probably just the card and you could undervolt it. instead of simply dragging the power slider. and setting a set fan speed. you could also simply cap the fps at 60 fps. that should make it run less hard thus less hot and loud.
  6. screw holes should indeed not really indicate anything sag wise. but it should line up when you slot it in the motherboard. could be its not properly but its not gonna cause issues. not like this with very specific applications at least. did you try it with a new monitor? or your tv? i would suggest seeing if these issues happen on another monitor/tv as well.
  7. before you try that, one question maybe a bit weird but... sag? did you have it and do you have it now? can you confirm via pushing it in fully once more it truly is properly in the slot? as you really do need to push it a bit uncomfortably with some mobos. because such flickering is either because of your gpu or the monitor itself. if you have the possibility of course you could try a different monitor maybe loan one or connect it to the tv orso see if it still happens.
  8. i didnt have that issue and i didnt upgrade my windows till 11 last week. maybe i am just lucky but my gpuz shows everything fine.
  9. seeing your monitor i believe its hdmi1.4 so your using a 1.4cable it shouldnt technically be an issue but things happen.. cause 580 is hdmi 2.0 and 3050 is hdmi 2.1 i doubt i would cause actual issues. but it can happen if the pc gods moons allign wrongly in one night. so you ddu'd it with the new gpu already installed? meaning did you swap gpus then booted it up in safe mode and ddu'd it? and guessing after that you installed the new drivers. personally i would always ddu with the old gpu before swapping it out. have you tried to simply ddu + reinstall the drivers again? It can indeed be something as simple as not a good seating in the mobo but it is possible some code could be left over of the other drivers. it shouldnt actually be the case but nothing ever is perfect.
  10. yeh probably just a messy install. its nice it all works properly now.
  11. amd did the right thing. everything has 16 besides the lowest end but they honestly should have 12 as minimum. as for nvidia. xx50/ti/60/ti should have 12 bare minimum xx70/ti/80 should have 16 bare minimum xx80ti/90/90ti should have 20+ bare minimum.
  12. so you uninstalled your old ones. and installed the newest ones? cause mine indeed does not look like that, also in windows 11. did you check via the adrenalin software that there is no new update either you have missed?
  13. its your cpu thats holding your gpu back. im sure you know of msi afterburner. have it check the gpu usage in tripple a titles you play. you will 100% see that its not nearly as close to 100% as it should be and probably closer to 70 orso. make screenshots and post them here. make sure they are demanding tripple a titles. you know like cyberpunk and such. and your cpu sis not quick enough to keep up with your new gpu. so you did see some performance increase but indeed not as much as it can be.
  14. hot spot can get a bit hot (95-105) with temps here reaching higher (20-35 degrees) and me having an oc on it in intensive games like cyberpunk orso(even tho hotspot can be max 120 so its fine). But other than that the temps are 70 on most temps and 80/85 ish on the hotspot in not the most intensive. and in very easy to run games its of course nothing. noise is as i said even at 2700rpm the noise is nothing. its not high pitching its not whiny its not an annoying rhythm. so you wont notice it really.
  15. the 6950xt is already an oced 6900xt so pushing it further is a bit difficult. having it at 2600-2700 is the most stable ive seen. i couldnt get it to 2700-2800 it gets unstable then. and i doubt it would increase perf much. however the 7900xtx already reaches speeds around 3000 with a decent oc. getting the best amd has to over now would also be decent for you yes. however keep in mind that the xtx will likely draw more power than the 6950xt when you oc it. mine mostly sits around 320 in the heaviest gaming loads with the oc i listed. so keep that in mind with your psu that is rated lower than mine 750 vs 850.
  16. i got the phantom d as i stated in another comment. i would avoid asus for now. the red devil is not worth that premium. xfx is decent but bit too standard. its excellent and the oc isnt to bad (between 2600/2700 and 2476 mem powerlimit +20%) temps are also decent and even at 2700rpm its not bad at all noise wise as its consistent. rgb is also pretty. with both the fan underneath and the logo being rgb i didnt fiddle with any software tho so.
  17. ive worked on several computers including older ones with older ryzen cpus yeah ive never had this happen to me. never. im amazed it was such an issue lol. guess i should be extra careful. but so far my method of just heating it up for a while seems to be doing just fine. my build included
  18. interesting, ive never had this issue with doing the standard short run of cinebench or the like for some minutes before fiddling with the cooler.
  19. how tho, dont we all know you 100% should heat up your cpu before messing with cpu coolers? this is like just ripping it straight out almost XD
  20. Its alright, But im not really sure if its worth it for you. its always better to get at least a double in performance with your gpu upgrades. and the 6600 wont cut it. 6600xt will barely make it but the 6650xt will do double. and since you are british i would use this website and this card can be bought i believe even with financing options if you cant fully pay it in one go. might be better for your wallet as well as it does go a bit above your budget but with finance it might be a non problem for you to pay it in months orso. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus-radeon-rx-6650-xt-dual-oc-8gb-gddr6-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-487-as.html but the better thing to do of course is to just wait and if you really cant run games anymore at the settings you want not even with an oc and fsr or rdr2 vulkan than yeah you could upgrade. But what i always say to myself is only upgrade if you have the money for it and you do not have anything else you absolutely have to spend it on like taxes or bills.
  21. anything would offer a good boost over your 1080 the main issue for you will be vram and the only one with decent vram from nvidia will be the 4080 if buying new and you wanna go 4000 otherwise you can try and get a 3090/3090ti. with 4k you really want a bare minimum of 16gb of vram
  22. you use a plastic water bottle to hold a gpu up that can output a lot of heat?
