  1. I'd think seeing it as a way to push METAL as a viable...whatever METAL actually is...would be a goal in and of itself....not to mention stuff like money...Sims 5 will be a money maker, no point not getting money from XBox and Playstation people.
  2. Well, I usually refer to him as a buggy whip repairman, so you can go from there
  3. EA was making Apple games back in the IIe days, so would be a nice circular thing. If Apple wants Metal to become a major...whatever it is...they need games made using it to show what it can do, so this would be a way to get there.
  4. only if you don't look at the GIANT infrastructure of lightning based accessories that are out there. When apple switched from Dock to lightning there was tons of bitching about people having to now buy new accessories, not to mention all the companies that make them. (nor does it take into account money made from the certification program) So not really baffeling, unless your only concern is having 1 cable instead of two and haven't bothered to think of a bigger picture.
  5. I mean, that's largely how US grocery stores work.I don't know where the line is on "loss" as in truly selling at a loss vs losing out on greater profit, but using the incredible deal on X (say a Turkey at thanksgiving) to entice shoppers in, who'll then buy the rest of the stuff for the meal there is how it goes.
  6. And as I like to point out, this kind of logistics is what brought Tim Cook to the dance.
  7. I game with this almost daily. Like it just fine. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RQC612Z/
  8. This seems rather..normal..to be April Fools..Who wouldn't want chocolate covered cookie nuggets?
  9. Not quite sure what you mean...maybe I misread, but it sounded like with the subscription you got a monthly infusion of in game cash...that's pretty standard for FTP games with a sub tier...and with lots of games if you play a lot and like buying stuff in the game that can cost real money (or real money to buy in game money to buy in game stuff) it's often a good deal. I weekly have a MMO session with some RL friends that we've been doing for years, moving from one game to antoher as we finish up story content..being less afluent and cheap, I tend to stick to free tiers, but a friend who's less cheap and more affluent subscribes for the extra bonuses and also for the basic supporting the game/developers. I see no problem with a game (I understand this isn't quite like an MMO, but it's not unlike one either), offering a sub tier for people who want to either get bonuses or support the game or both....it's not mandatory, so it's not some bait and switch scheme, nor does it sound like it's a pay-to-win scheme where if you don't sub you can't do stuff... Literally don't see why anyone would have an issue with this.
  10. So an MMO has a subscription tier....that seems pretty standard and $5 a month is pretty much at the bottom level of stuff...Final Fantasy is like $15 a month i think. and it doesn't give you stuff, just uncripples the chracter.
  11. I'm calling it.. Apple Silicone is headed to using a sticklebrick design!
  12. The owner of the site literaly changed a news video title from "Double the Apple Silicon" to "Oh, Come on Apple!". The focus on his mac channel's review of announcements was that prices are going up...after pointing out that everyone's prices are going up, but then the video harps on it somehow being an Apple issue. The title of his main channel's review was "Apple makes my head hurt" which was never said or addressed in the video featuring the most credible person on his staff. Don't complain about forum members doing similar...they're just following the community's leader desire for negative apple coverage for the clicks and to show his displeasure at cupertino not acknowledging his existence.
  13. Well, that's a boring answer...I mean, Apple has all the money. Sony is always broke, looking for handouts from Disney...who has historical connections with Apple. I think it means that Macs are about to be able play Playstation games natively. Let's put that in the rumormill!
  14. but isn't the CPU doubled as well as the GPU? So that seems like what it does will be pretty interesting to find out too.
  15. Lately? You've lapped yourself with your weird apple trolling/hate. Other than the Mac Pro there hasn't been real modularity on Macs in for a very long time. Even adding addtional ram without major work has been a top level option. With the Studio being this heavy hitter machine, and the Pro needing to be something bigger, and the unlikelyhood Apple spent a ton of research and work into that chasis for just one generation...the AS MAc Pro having PCI card stuff seems logical.
  16. And...go with me a moment...maybe..just maybe...this thing will be useable in the AS Mac Pro, since it seems pretty obvious that it's going to be able to use pci cards.
  17. Oh, another thing I noticed that was...notable.... Apple made a specific call out to Sony with the bit about it's camera, which was shown on screen for some time, doing...something. (I didn't really pay attention to that and it was yesturday i saw it)....didn't seem to be an exclusive thing that particular camera alone did...but it was a specific mention. Apple doesn't tend to make call outs to other companies..especially sometime competitors..for no reason. I wonder what that could signify.
  18. My point was, there was a specific call out to magic keyboard/mice that color match and compliment the new studio line. I didn't catch if they were new colors added to the line or not. And the studio line is being aimed at creatives...it's freakin' called Studio...and creative types do rather like creative workspaces. So, the people shown in an Apple presentation represent the industry? Every tech company has an openly gay CEO?
  19. Thanks for answering what I was gonna ask. I was like "...uhm, I'm pretty sure the game developers I work with have the source code...and didn't I get it as the prize in that crackerjack box I got last week?" ....do they still make crackerjack? Man, I'd dig some crackerjack right now....and anyone ever notice that "crackerjack" is a weird word?
  20. Well assuming you're talking about positioning, rather than the mechanics of it (which is "get stands/arms that support it") it really comes down to fiddiling around til you find what you like. I have a verticle stack dual monitor on my PC (i have 3 monitors for my mac.. well it's an imac, so to additional on left and right)... I haven't really worked out the best way to use the upper monitor....i mainly set it up because I had the monitor arm, and I had an extra monitor, so I COULD do it, and figured the overkill of it made me happy.
  21. well the real answer is that it tests show the M1 beating whatever processor they fanboy for (for whatever reason) so it's a "bad test".
