  1. So, I am working on a server build at work. We purchased 3 ProLiant servers with standard riser chassis. However we needed more then a single PCI express riser, so we purchased the additional riser kits to add 2 more PCI express slots into our primary riser. We are only running 1 CPU at 128 PCI express lanes(plenty for what we need). Where I am neeeing help is the cabling within the chassis. We are able to get the first additional riser (blue cabling) to work in the chassis it is plugged into ports 7 & 13 ref attached images. However when we try to add the third riser (top riser with yellow cabling) into the server, we keep getting a “Improper Cable Order in Slot 1 or 2 error”. I was just hoping someone more knowledgeable could help explain HPEs weird new changes in gen 11 with these new NVME/ PCI express ports and which ports I should be plugging into with a single CPU configuration.
  2. The jack has borh headphones and a microphone on it yet it doesnt recognize it as a possible microphone in control panel...
  3. Hi Forum members!, I have a PC running a video wall, and currently I have four displays that are all running independent off one graphics card in extended mode, where each one is basically its own PC display with its own windows home screen( you get the gist)..l But I would like to find a way to get the four separate monitors running off the graphics card to make up one giant screen, instead of four independent displays.. No I do not want to use a splitter to achieve this, what settings do I need to change to make these four separate monitors become one giant display??? I would appreciate the help and info thanks!
  4. Best suited as a status update, Screw you! No one follows me no one will see it!

  5. Tape drivers installed, but the system still does not boot!
  6. I tried turning on RTX, for some reason it could not take it!
  7. Wired gigabit Network Interface Cards (NICs) are a good idea, Wireless connections are for pessants who enjoy buffering. If you want WiFi on your build as well just get a USB adapter! Make sure it’s dual channel at least..
  8. Can We Get To 100 Subs!!!

  9. Try another DNS server, find one in your region with a low ping and use it.. Sometimes devices like it if you have a backup DNS server try having one that has a backup server as well like 64.6.64.6, 64.6.65.6 (Just examples). You may find you have faster internet speed if you try this.
  10. Have you heard of this cool thing called a “Firewall”, schools have group policies and unless you have direct permission from IT administrator, tampering with blocked services can get you in trouble...
  11. Well first there are different qualities of CAT5e cable, some are definitely cheaper and slower mediums then higher quality cable. Sheilding could be another issue, maybe the wires are having cross talk issues... Also are you making your own cables? The ends might now be as high of quality as needed to support high speeds...
  12. Used to have 3Mbps speed, I would leave a download running when I would go to bed and watch it finish in the morning lol..
  13. Jesus, we pay 80$ for 100 Mbps Up and Down

  16. It just amazes me that he would buy a GTX 1080 TI, but even if he didn’t want to upgrade power supply, like 5$ in molex adapters and he wouldn’t have this problem
  17. Can I just ask what in the world was he thinking, was he to cheap to buy a decent power supply + he could have bought the 8 pin power adapter from molex, and 6 pin power adapter... The only thing I can suggest is cleaning the graphics card, try to assess the damage, ensure all the acid is removed, re apply thermal paste, and hope for the best... One other question how did the acid stay in the graphics card??
  18. Sadly unless you take over your ISP not much else then general troubleshooting that you can do..
  19. Couldn’t have said it better myself, thanks for beating me to it.
  20. From a physical standpoint I would love to say yes, Physically it would make sense for your traffic to be directly routed to the servers. But odds are your ISP is re-routing traffic around before it actually ends up at the server you are trying to connect to.. Are you running windows, a good way to test how many hops your packets are making is to do the tracert command in command prompt... I know I live in the US, but on our campus all traffic gets routed around our ISP’s internal network a few dozen places even before it reaches the global World Wide Web.. The odds are your ISP is doing something similar.. You will be surprised how many random locations your data gets routed to that makes no sense..
  21. So, My friend brought me his Gaming PC today to fix... I hope it’s something fixable.. SPECS Core i5 8400 TUF GAMING H370-Pro Gaming and an EVGA 700 B Power Supply ( I have eliminated the RAM as a culprit already) So, when the power supply is flipped on the onboard power LED, flickers randomly and the power button does nothing... I have tried unplugging all the fans, removing the RAM, unplugging the power supply, resetting the CMOS battery, removing all PCI, and PCIE, in varied orders yet nothing has fixed it, I have also trying to see if the SATA drives are shorting the board in anyway. I tried another power supply but that test was inconclusive due to not having a spare 700 wat power supply on hand and only having a 500 wat power supply. He said that the board powered (only been powered on once) on and hasn’t worked since he shut it down.. If he just needs a new board I will tell him. But if there is anyway to troubleshoot it even more or anyone has advice... I’m open to help.
  22. As mentioned above this is probably an ISP issue, the fact is you are probably sharing bandwidth with a ton of people. Resulting in increased latency, all of your data is traveling half way around the world and back as well which does not help your cause... Have you tested to see if you are actually getting 200 Megabit Up and Down, chances are your speeds could be lower than you are actually paying for... But just for giggles, and to see if it changes anything find the nearest fastest DNS server near you and change it to that.
  23. He wrote September on it in front of me I swear
