  1. Okay, i've just installed the apple driver for the GPU, and it's in an automatic repair loop. It's a win7 driver, because that's the only os that my mac officially supports. Although other people have got this working. I've had this before. So where do i go from here (macbook is sitting on the recovery screen)
  2. They've got their own drivers. I thought that the NVIDIA ones would work as well. I've just run DDU, and i'll try one of apple's drivers. They're nested in the boot camp software, so i completely forgot about them. Although, i have the boot camp support software installed, and the nvidia driver didn't show in device manager then.
  3. NVIDIA Geforce 320m. Designed for this macbook specifically i probably should've mentioned that. Also: email notifications don't seem to be working at the moment..
  4. Hi, i'm running Win10 on my Macbook white mid 2010. I installed the NVIDIA GPU driver (i've tried 285.62, 306.97, 332.21 and a few others that i can't recall. After installing one of the drivers, it still shows the Microsoft display adapter in device manager. So i used DDU to uninstall. It uninstalls the driver, and says that it couldn't remove it fully because it was in use. I rebooted, from safe mode to a normal boot, and installed another driver. Same story. So i've no idea how to fix this, believe me i've tried... thanks in advance!
  5. A lot of people seem to suggest something like Acronis, but paying 70 bucks isn't for everbody (not me!). Syncbackfree allows you to setup different rules, for backup. You can schedule them to run at certain times. It's simple, but with a toggle, it unlocks a lot more customisation. I don't know much about backup software, but It's what i use, and i like it.
  6. Hi. The title says it all. I've got Windows 10 running (quite well) on a Macbook (Unibody) Mid 2010. Trackpad++ doesn't support my Macbook, according to their site, and the fact that it didn't work when i installed it (reckless...). So i'm looking for something, anything that will allow three finger dragging. Also, if it fixes other gestures, that'd be nice. There's an awful delay when double tapping and dragging a window (also, double tapping to drag is a constant annoyance when scrolling). I've googled this, but haven't found anything, so i'm just hoping that i'll come across someone who's found themselves in a similar situation. thanks
  7. Chrome. Every time. Always. [Actually it was drivers, but nobody likes drivers. You only realise they exist when they don't work...]
  8. Different time zones I identify most with Taran
  9. Edit: Problem Fixed. Mods, feel free to delete, i don't think i can.
  10. Blender (as a video editor) or hitfilm express 3. They're both really good, and free. Although Hitfilm is a little better than Blender, mostly because it's actually designed for video editing.
  11. I don't think so... Buy a good SSD, and you will save yourself a lot of trouble. Even if you can fit one game on there, eventually you're going to run out of space.
  12. OP, what are speeds like when you're copying files? My 840 evo does fine in a benchmark, but (latest firmware and all) i've never seen it peak 200 when copying files...
  13. The power plan assistant may also be useful, since battery life within Windows isn't as good as within OSX or Linux. Would anyone know if it's possible to use Trackpad++ with a Macbook white mid 2010?
  14. Ah I figured. Glad that's the case
  15. Haha, wow. I only said that because it got to the point where i wasn't entirely sure if it was just banter
  16. Here's something else. What if i don't want to do an express install of the driver?
  17. Errm, what? Obviously this isn't true. So this looks to be something from Win8.1 that they neglected to hide (one of the troubleshooters)
  18. Yeah about that. Do you know why Telstra did that? if it's anything beyond just staying competitive. Because they sure didn't do it out of the goodness of their hearts...
  19. It would work fine, if Windows update hadn't installed that update. A bad update could affect your desktop Agreed, and here is the proof I had Ubuntu on it before. But as usual, it's down to compatibility. At some point i will put Ubuntu on there. But first i need to do a system image backup (which isn't working, so i'll need to fix that). My Macbook is a MB mid 2010. Not air: http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook/specs/macbook-core-2-duo-2.4-white-13-polycarbonate-unibody-mid-2010-specs.html Nope. You guys are forgetting that i've put countless hours of research into this. Installing the most recent version of the BC support software that's compatible with my macbook is recommended.
  20. Hahaha you think the Internet is bad over East? Don't even think about moving to WA then. NBN, starting construction someplace near you in 2020... And what's even better, the expected speeds will be something between 12 and 25, which is pathetic by todays standards. So you could say that the NBN will be outdated before it's even done... As for the topic. 25 is probably the bare minimum for that number of people. To say "if no one is downloading" is unrealistic, because they're going to...
  21. So, after a a week of research, and attempt after attempt, i finally got Windows 10 running (very well i might add) on my Macbook White mid 2010 (Using the bootcamp 4.0.4033 softare designed for windows 7). Normally this kind of thing is fun. This wasn't fun. It was hell. So, i'll let you to imagine how ****** off i got when Windows 10 decided to install the latest NVIDIA GPU driver!
  22. Great news! Through a combination of fdisk, blind luck, and running partially going through the bootcamp install, i managed to get Windows 10 installed. I know, 10 not 8. I might as well i know that eventually i'd just upgrade from 8 to 10, and that would cause even more trouble. I used bootcamp 4.0.4033, there are a couple of missing drivers that i'll fix in a moment. Thanks for your help!
  23. Oh. Wow. That'd be it. It would be nice if Microsoft made this clear to us . What if a bug slips past, because all the bug testers are using the pro version. Your right though, derp! I just installed Win10 on my MacBook White Mid 2010. I'm not going through hell again. If i have to pay 150 bucks, then so be it...
