Wow, Linus doubled down on the LTT Store ad, IMO having some humor in the video is a bad thing when it should be a serious video addressing how they can improve, and IMO they plug the LTT store too much in videos.
Also its not a good look with them monetizing the video and bragging they're essentially getting a free one out of monetizing it.

Open CMD and use diskpart to have a look at the partitions. Does windows want to eject some hidden partition? If you actually ejected the boot drive the OS would stop working so... That wouldn't really be it

    One word: inexperience.

She's young, and pretty green when it comes to workplace conflict (hell, I didn't even get the hang of handling conflicts confidently until I was mid-30s). Not only that, but - if what she said is true - she'd effectively been beaten down (emotionally) by people she'd looked up to for years. Not difficult to see how she'd end up in a state where a) she blamed herself, or b) she didn't feel she'd be able to see through any official complaint to the end without further compromising her mental health.

I'm not saying you're wrong, just that it's entirely understandable why she didn't.

Man your points are so out of touch. People like you represent the main problem with the tech community. How can she not be a victim if she felt she was "grabbed inappropriately"? How would you feel if your sister/mother came up to you and told you that someone at worked grabbed them inappropriately.

Why do you people need to shit on someones feelings? What do you earn?

I'm trying to figure out how to say this without being rude. This is just how we as humans work. We see other talking about something, and decide to put in our 2 cents about it. This was some big controversial news that came out surronding LTT's toxic work culture, and issues with quality control that it pushed LMG into making a core video for their youtube channel. I'm not surprised Madison saw the news, saw the reactions to the GN video, and felt like it was time to finally say her piece after seeing others discuss their issues with the company. Its very possible the GN video was the first time she saw LTT employees voicing public frustration with the company, and the community being in agreement instead of folks just staying quiet about it.

Just to offer a counter to this.

You know who I feel sorry for?
I feel sorry for Madison. She finally has the courage to speak up about how she was treated, in a workplace that literally led her to self harm, sexual assault and constant unbearable pressure, even voicing her worry about the kickback from people who will blindly deny her experiences and claim it’s lies…. And that’s exactly what happens. People call her a liar. If you are one of those people, you are the reason people who are victims of abuse don’t speak out. Hang your head in shame.

I feel sorry for Steve at GN. He can’t win. He’s had to tiptoe around saying anything too critical of LTT for years because of the fanbase and even when he speaks out and other people back up his claims, he still gets accused of witch hunting, and gets railed on by Linus who still hasn’t apologised.

I feel sorry for Luke too. He’s always been the sensible one and tried to fight fires, I don’t think he’s involved with the sexual harassment thing but admittedly he’s pretty open about the FP dev team working HARD. I hope they get a break and better conditions. But I also feel bad for Luke making a 69 joke… just as accusations of sexual assault are made against the company.

This whole video isn't an apology. It's LMG performing a whole lot of damage control. A bunch of upper management staring blankly at a teleprompter, a needless LTTstore plug proves they don't take the community's concerns serious enough. Furthermore I find it extremely funny that Linus says he's too emotional and admitting to making blunders... While being emotional and making blunders by even appearing in the video at all. Furthermore not respecting BL's wish to hide the true cost of the prototype by revealing the full price in an email.

Now they're going to 'take a week' to 'work on issues'. In other words, they're going to wait until this blows over. Well, maybe if not for the fact a certain ex-employee now comes forth with SA claims about certain LTT employees.

This was so close to being a good response, and then Linus showed up and STILL acted defensive and tried to put positive spin on it.

They should NOT have had him in this video if he wasn't going to be truly contrite. He took less than 30 seconds to go back to defensive mode, talking about how hard it is to be him and trying to point out all of the good things he thought he did.

    No. NO!

    Just fucking NO.

When you apologize, you talk about what you did wrong and how it'll be fixed going forward. You don't try to minimize it, you don't point out how much it sucks for you, you just DON'T.

This is not what humility looks like. This is what trying and failing to suppress your pride and hurt feelings looks like.

If they didn't want GN to release it, why the fuck would they want LTT to release it? Do you think before you post? This apology was made after the GN videos, everyone knows Billet wanted that info to remain private

Honestly. Not surprising that Madison's sexual harassment complaints were ignored or never addressed when the one guy is the head of 6 departments.

LTT makes apology video about needing to do better, and in the same video release monetary value information to the public that Billet specifically requested not be released

how was the apology in any way good, he pay walled it for 40 minutes until everyone started bitching, put ltt store ads in the video, diminished what he did, didn't explain the wan show 5 minute rant, and explanation of why he acted rude was because he cannot hold a temper.

@LinusTech Pains me to say it but, just walk away man. These rabid bastards have show their true colors. Cash out to some corporate entity that'll give the masses the same ole PR speak they yearn for, that has no substance but makes them feel good. They crave it like an addict. They can't live in a world that's messy and uncertain. Cash out and take care of your family and friends. You're not totally innocent in this controversy, but damn, at least you recognize your faults.

This community, well, they walk on water evidently.

Honest question: If Steve's video never came out (or was released by someone without Steve's reach and access to Linus's ear), would anything be changing? Has the impact on viewership and subscribers been a factor in the response?

What would the response to the water block incident be in a vacuum? "Whoops, we shouldn't have sold that. Sorry. But we made them whole to their satisfaction so it's all good now! Buy a limited edition 'PROTOTYPE NOT FOR SALE' shirt at lttstoredotcom" on WAN Show?

How about the technical errors in videos? Would the strategy again be to wait for the controversy blow over and carry on as though nothing happened?

I'm disappointed it took a bombshell of this size to kick-start serious public-facing acknowledgement and discussion of these issues, but at the same time addressing them is long overdue.

So, They make an apology video talking about how they need to do things better and make improvements with how things are done, and the first thing they do is publicly release the $2000 monetary value of the prototype email uncensored when Billet Labs made it clear they didn't want that info released?
