As the title suggests I am periodically recieving BSOD that warn me of a Video Scheduler Internal error. I downloaded the BSOD report app that the perminent thread suggest I do but I do not use drop box, One Drive, Google Drive or the other programs it suggested I link the zip. files to so hopefully they won't be necessary. If they are then I will try to set myself up with one of them, whichever is the quickest. In the mean time I can say that while I have been having random restarts on my system ever since I constructed it about a year and a half ago, usually what would happen is that it would just freeze and restart, the blue screen is a new wrinkle. The BSOD seems to roughly correspond with my downloading of Windows 10. I had taken my computer to my local computer service shop and it had been put through various tests including Valley Benchmarks all of which my system supposedly passed. I should mention I took it there just prior to getting Windows 10. I aslo ran into big scary noises a failures when I tried just once to run Valley on my own after just getting Windows 10. I assumed at the time that the reason why Valley freaked out was because at the time it did not have a Windows 10 option to run it, I thought wrongly it might still be able to run if I told the program it was the latest version the app did have listed 8.1. Prior to Windows ten I had Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit. I bought it retail when I put my rig together about a year and a half ago.The CPU I am using is an intel i7 4930k, the video cars is an Asus GTX 780 3GB, motherboard is an Asus P9X79-E WS LGA 2011, and power supply a Corsair AX860i. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I appologize ahead of time for any missing data. If it absolutely essential will do my best to go back and provide it. Thanks. ~Christian

If I were so fortunate as to win this dynamic little CPU I would use it in my first ever water cooled pc. I also look forward to the opportunity using an X99 board and some of that new ddr4 ram and a couple gtx970 GPUs. I built my first pc this spring and it seems like a mere couple months later updates on just about every single part came out. It felt like I had bought a very nice and expensive house just before the housing bubble burst and all of a sudden I was under water on my mortgage. Ugh, such is life.

Well, I'd kind of like to know what the spectrum of what is out there is like. I think for now anyways, the focus is more on bang for your buck. -

Hey, Was just curious if any you out on the forum might have some suggestions for value laptops out there. Basically I'm looking to mostly use it for writing with the ocassional jaunt over to YouTube and Reddit. Thus the following are important to me: a comfortable keyboard, durability, reliability, a decent amount of storage, and a phenomenal battery life. All this for a relatively good price. I know the price puts a bit of a cap on what is feasible but considering that I don't necessarily need it to be a gaming laptop I'm hoping that there is something out there relatively close to what I want with a low price tag. (If I sell a book, I'll be back to talk about that gaming laptop.) Thanks in advance for everyone's help. -

So far it has happened while in Firefox, Steam, and my VLC player. All of which you'd think my system could handle.I could, use one stick of RAM, but how could I tell which one if any was malfunctioning? What software do I need for a memtest? This was my first build and a lot of this diagnostic stuff is brand new to me. -

Just curious if anyone might have a suggestion for where I should begin to look to understand why my months old home built rig is seemingly randomly shutting down and rebooting. It doesn't happen every time I'm on it and more often then not it happens under low load, like web surfing or playing a YouTube video. Plus it's filled with new,(fairly high end) equipment. So who would you say is the most likely culprit I should check in my rig? It is an economical version of Linus' ultimate editing build guide so it should be basically sound build wise. I have 24% space available on my system startup ssd, an intel 730. Could that be the issue? I don't know, I'm just lost and wish I was more knowledgable in troubleshooting.

Is there a central linux site from whick to get VLC off of? I'm still learning my way around and am not terribly familiar with a lot of the stuff outside the mainstream big company world.
