  1. So far, the overall response I got from this post has been quite amazing & I'd like to thank every single 1 of you for taking your time to comment & give your advice/opinions, suggestions, etc! ❤ But I do happen to have 1 other question which remains unanswered: Earlier on in this post, someone recommended OfferUp. I have heard of them, but haven't had any experience buying anything from them. In fact, I just managed to create my account just this morning. I decided to look up some reviews & a couple of them have quite a few negative/critical reviews saying they've had bad experiences or they've been scammed, etc. (SiteJabber & TrustPilot were the 2 websites I found some reviews on.) So, I would actually like to hear from you guys once again, but this time, just let me know if you have had any bad experiences recently with OfferUp. I would like to be formally convinced that these guys are legit or "on the up & up" as I say. Afterall, no one wants to get scammed, right? Let me know if this route is worth it! AND GO!
  2. Well, looks like my best option would be to go for a newer 3DS like the XL, etc. And guys, there's no need to keep hammering it in- I know GameCube games can't be played on the Wii U or the newer Wii's. I was informed earlier on in this post I made. Nevertheless, I would like to thank everyone for their advice, opinions,tips/suggestions/recommendations, etc. Much appreciated!
  3. I think I see what you're saying here. I'm just not sure if you can play 3DS games on a 2DS for example & expect them to work. Do you see what I'm trying to say here?
  4. I'm already aware that the Wii can play GameCube games as someone pointed out earlier on in the post. But the 2DS wouldn't work out as there's a few games on my wishlist that are specifically for the 3DS. Hence why I'm trying to decide between an older 3DS or a newer 3DS. Still open to suggestions & recommendations though!
  5. To be specific, I'm after: the Nintendo Wii/Wii U, the PlayStation 3, the Game Boy Advance, Nintendo Switch, & the Nintendo 3DS. [Not sure if I'll go older 3DS or newer 3DS. I would appreciate it if someone can help me decide!]
  6. As for my opinion on this goes- I prefer to buy online from reputable sources if I'm unable to actually go anywhere & buy in-person. Just my 2 cents.
  7. Thanks for the tip! But I should make you aware that I'm after specific consoles/platforms. Also, I'm in the States; not the UK as much as I wish.
  8. Hm. Since you brought it up, would I be better off going for a 3DS or the New 3DS since it's 1 of the consoles on my wishlist? What would you recommend?
  9. I appreciate your thoughtful suggestion/tip, but I prefer to try out these consoles & games that I never had when growing up due to very specific/personal reasons. If you want the details to better understand, you can view both of these forum posts I made which explains why this project will mean so much to me. Link 1: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1185776-wanting-to-get-into-retro-console-gaming-have-questions/page/1/?tab=comments#comment-13538692 Link 2: https://forum.level1techs.com/t/wanting-to-get-into-retro-console-gaming-have-questions/156481/8 Besides, I know it might seem like an odd choice with some of this newer hardware, games & consoles being out, but I personally wouldn't really have much need for something a lot more recent. Plus, I prefer to own physical copies of games as opposed to digital. Nothing personal, it's just a more meaningful, logical choice IMO.
  10. Well, if it works, then it works! I'd like to thank you for your time & patience to help me out & the advice, suggestions, recommendations you given to me. much appreciated! I will definitely keep this conversation in mind once I'm ready.
  11. I have heard that if I recall correctly. But isn't this method just as do-able if not simpler? Link:
  12. Alright. I believe that all makes sense now. BTW, just to confirm on this topic as well: have I heard correctly that if I wanted to play Wii games on the Wii U for instance, i would actually need to buy both a Wii & Wii U? I think I heard somewhere that this might be what's needed, but don't quote me on that...
  13. OK, so as long as I have a regular Wii, then it will work. That makes sense. You said it's preferable that I have a GameCube memory card. Couldn't the Wii be able to do it without a GameCube memory card? Also, if I wanted to play GameCube games on a Wii, wouldn't I just be able to use the controller(s) for the Wii instead or will it not work that way? [You'll have to forgive me as I don't know everything about consoles. I have been learning quite a bit at my own pace, though.]
  14. I'll keep in mind what you said about gaming groups & communities. BTW, I just want to make sure I'm understanding you correctly. Based on what you stated, are you trying to tell me that the Wii/Wii U can play GameCube games without any problems? Or did I just misinterpret what you said?
  15. Ah, I see. Now I know what a swap meet is. For the consoles/game platforms I'm after, here's what on my wishlist: Nintendo GameCube, PlayStation 3, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo Wii U [basically I plan to play all Wii games on the Wii U], Nintendo 3DS, & Nintendo Switch. I'm wanting to get into certain game titles like Sonic since I didn't really have the opportunity to when I was growing up. Just want to enjoy myself nostalgia & all! Lol BTW, you mentioned a video game community. Can you recommend/suggest any in particular?
