I heard a story about someone who wanted to upgrade his Core 2 Quad-based prebuilt PC so he could play games on it, so they go to a LAPTOP REPAIRMAN and ask the guy what he can do with it.
 
A few days later he got the system back and the supposed "IT Technician" threw a $300 HD 6950 and a shitty 600W Thermaltake PSU in there. 

My friend is a techie, he knows quite a lot, but he was unaware that AMD has been rebranding their GPU's from last generation.
 
Before he had 2x 7850's in Crossfire. He wanted to upgrade since it wasn't keeping up, so he ended up getting 2x R9 280's unaware that they are actually 7950's. A few days after he Skyped me and told me that his new GPU's had barely given him a better frame rate than what he had before. I facepalmed and told him about how AMD rebrands their graphics cards, etc.

I'm pretty sure everyone has done this before: When submitting an assignment at school, you accidentally put the shortcut on the USB flash drive, not the actual document file. 

It would actually be possible to put an ITX board into a current Mac Mini case. It has the same dimensions, and you could add a Pico PSU in as the power supply.

I asked Apple if I could purchase the Mac Mini enclosure on it's own. Then I told them that I was going to put PC parts inside and Hackintosh it.
 
They said "Why build a fake Mac when you can get the feeling of owning a real one by buying one from our store." 

This more of a story involving myself, but when I was a noob with computers and networking, I was setting up an ADSL modem to my laptop. There was a USB cable included in the box for those who didn't have a network jack on their PC. There was also a regular Ethernet cable too.
 
I thought I had to plug both of them in, which I did, and it messed up the network settings on the laptop. 

Okay, your story was rather entertaining, to be honest.
 
I refer to my SSDs as "hard drives" around non-techies because it's the only PC component they know of.

My dream is to hijack a Xeon rig at school and start folding@home on it.

My desktop is nothing to awe at. It's nothing. Literally nothing.

I used to be terrible at keeping my desktop clean, I always extracted files there because it was easier than having a dedicated folder.

While I used to write complicated .inf files for FSX, software related stuff does not interest me anymore.

Eh you're lucky. My two friends used to jokingly call me a fag for liking Intel products. Then I mentioned the inefficient IPC on AMD CPU's.

Seriously, when are they going to make a decent mid-tower with cable management and a clean aesthetic under $100.
