    Damaged cables? the displayport cable is the most probable suspect in that case. i do have a "switch" but it was about 16 dollars so i doubt it has PoE cababilities. as for the HML thingy, the HDMI cable is actually connected to a DVI monitor, so probably not

    Reseat + a little clean with some rubbing alcohol seems to have done the trick so far, cheers guys!

    There indeed was, it hadn't occurred to me until just a bit ago that it may be a thing (i hadn't seen your reply, apparently i felt it through the force) Disconnected Ethernet/DP/HDMI and then it stopped. I'd suspect ethernet, but how i wonder? Edit: i know how ethernet could carry power, but i'm baffled as to how it would be backfeeding into my PC enough to keep all the various status LEDs and motherboard RGB going

    I'm about to pull my hair out lol. even gently bumping my desk (i.e. setting my phone down) has been causing my PC to hard lock. I am going to real quick try swapping the sata cable, but other than that i'm at a loss
