GTX 950 for $45

Still a steal honestly. With a cooler this big, performance should be punching close to at least a GTX 1050, if not between the 1050 and 1050 ti.

 

Edit: she's a winner. Pushing about 100 fps in the ultra preset in overwatch (4790K with DDR3 1600) which is what you'd see from decent 1050 models. I'm gonna upgrade my friend to a 1060 and I'll get her 1050 ti, and I can do some side by side comparisons with that.

    For the class of card that the 950 even is, I doubt gsync compatibility is relevant. Not gonna spend that extra $300 for my gaming PC that probably didn't even cost that much lol

    True but I found a gtx 1050ti for around 50 bucks on Amazon which does support gsync, although gtx 950 isn’t horrible

    You could try your hand at Different SLI Auto and get some decent scaling, works great for low end cards where motherboard bandwidth is not as big a deal

    Good idea although I’m not sure if I’m just going to go for something more powerful where I only need 1 card

    Ew, smoking household... I hope you've taken the heatsink apart and basically washed it all. Dump the metal part a vat of CLR or something and scrub it away, use a toothbrush for the fan blades with 99% alcohol and what not.

    Turns out it looks (and smells) a lot better than most smoking household electronics, I don't think I need to do too deep a clean on this one.

    And more over Nvidia card are really good at cooling for long duration unless  they are not defective.
