  1. Actually i found a way around it lol What i did was this reenable the internet for a second and then finally something lights up on the next bar and then disable the internet again Not kidding though with the internet 100% off you can't even restart the OS from that screen without physically doing it from the power button I would have to try it on actual hardware as yes the OS can tell when its in a VM or not Microsoft mentioned this in their developer-thread but its interesting
  2. When clicking around there is NO WAY to go past that screen it will simply stay their until you connect to the internet in which you can continue your install.
  3. Give me a min and i will show it myself in a VM i'm already on the latest dev build but i'm running pro and its not a issue in pro So what i'm going to do is disable the network in VMware for Windows 11 during the whole install and i will pick Windows 11 Home edition in the settings
  4. The reasons for the minimum requirements have ZERO connection with ANYTHING related to performance its PURELY security based.
  5. https://www.theverge.com/2021/6/24/22548480/windows-11-home-internet-connection-set-up Plus Microsoft's own requirements "Windows 11 Home edition requires internet connectivity and a Microsoft account to complete device setup on first use."
  6. So i would like to hear from you guys about this i plan on using Pro myself but for people here a yes or no or please add more if you want to the question which is again Do you care about Microsoft requiring you to have a Hotmail account and enter it into W11 before it even hits the desktop for the first time Secondly if you want Are you comfortable having a online account at ALL times when you own 11 home edition? Edit Also note no for the home edition unplugging the internet will not work you MUST be connected to even hit the desktop for the first time and log into windows. I'm not even saying this is bad or good just want to know what people here think. Actually might donate money on a Wan show and see if Linus will ask people this. https://www.theverge.com/2021/6/24/22548480/windows-11-home-internet-connection-set-up "Windows 11 Home edition requires internet connectivity and a Microsoft account to complete device setup on first use."
  7. I would say that you should take a look at your min too not just the average. I can tell you for darn sure that upgrading from ivy to Zen 3 is a MAJOR upgrade you just have to find the games you should be getting way more FPS with that CPU compared to ivy.
  8. Yes that is even fine but make sure its stable also why even do this at all? The odds of having a bad CPU is extremely slim and the ram will boot just fine at 2133mhz and you own a x570 board.
  9. I logged in and i haven't been on in weeks just to make sure that you DO NOT power on that 550$ CPU for even a few min without some kind of cooler i don't even care if you have a cheapo one on their at least do something do not let it on without one please.
  10. Frequency means absolutely nothing without IPC figures. You can get a FX 5ghz CPU and it will perform like a 2Ghz 3700x lol.
  11. It's much bigger then the 3000 series as now all 8 cores per chiplet can communicate without having to go through the infinity fabric one thing people forget is its also more expensive to make vs having 2 4 cores glued together now its a full 8 cores per chiplet 50$ isn't much to be honest for a 20%+ improvement in gaming i do feel like the 8 core is priced a bit to much however but hey whatever. Not sure why people think Amd is supposed to be the cheap brand when they have better performance in EVERYTHING basically but some AVX workloads.
  12. I can't seem to find that many comparisons of these two pairs i currently own the AKG K7XX from a few years ago the deal was just so good but i always found them to be kind of laid back compared to other AKG cans and the bass seems a bit boomy at times i have this paired with the ODAC+O2 and i would like to know if there's someone in here who had a chance to listen to both of these and can compare them to me. I see they are just 330$ and for that i think they are worth it. I read 2 threads at Head-Fi the K712 thread and the K7XX thread and found maybe a few comparisons at best took me days(400 pages each). I gather that some say they sound the same others say the K712 pro is better. I wish i could go out and listen to them each lol. Please do not recommend sennheiser they make amazing headphones but their sound signature is not for me i prefer a little tiny bit more treble not DT880 level but more so then sennheiser
  13. So i own two pairs of headphones with a Objective 2 DAC/AMP RevB and i would love to add yet another pair to the bunch currently own DT770 80ohm+AKG K7XX. I'd love some recommendations budget is $400 or less. I think i do prefer adding another pair that is closed instead of open as summer is starting in a few months and i'll have fans running and such. Usage would be 70%/30% with 70% being music and 30% being movies/games/youtube. I would prefer the sound signature to be on the neutral side So far i'm looking at the Massdrop X beyerdynamic DT 177X
  14. Is this with a fresh OS? If so check memtest and make sure its even stable pretty sure that memory is bad.
  15. If you ever need help with this you can always PM me directly, you have to change every setting most importantly the CAD and PROCODT settings and voltage remember you are fine to set higher voltage most DDR4 kits can run at 1.45V without even having good airflow in the case. I currently use 1.5V but i have really nice airflow and during a 9 hour memtest run it hit 50C on the max temp with everything passing.
  16. Yes it lowers your overall performance XMP is rarely ever set at tight timings and typically very loose. It will still work fine but if you want to tweak things that's the first place to start on ryzen.
  17. If you enjoy playing at higher frame rates 120+ then i would recommend 3600-3800 memory with nothing higher then 16 cas latency for Zen 2. Ram is really the ONLY area where you can tweak your setup with a Ryzen 3000 CPU as there is 0 overclocking headroom and PBO and Auto OC basically do nothing useful and can even hurt ST performance. I currently have a very high binned samsung bdie kit but it can be expensive, mainly bought it for fun to OC and tweak things((Currently at 3800mhz at 14 cas timings). What matter what you get remember this simple trick Memory divided by TCL and the higher the number the better, example down below. 3600mhz 18 cas timings = 200 3200mhz 14 cas timings = 228 In the example above the 3200mhz kit would be better and most likely either allow for an OC or even tighter timings. Regardless on what you pick remember to tweak further then XMP by using Dram Ryzen calculator.
  18. I do apologize for the delay(had to go to the hospital) i plan on making a nice write-up and a good amount of it will be old posts from Amd themselves i love the feedback so far. Again this isn't about hating on this or that if anything i'm hard on Amd cause i expect better even then, Zen for example proves that Amd is a amazing company and of course their older CPU's from 99-05
  19. If anyone is interested in having a nice long conversation about Amd's failed Bulldozer architecture and history on the subject just ask and it would be a very fun subject indeed. This is in no way to bash Amd we all make mistakes and companies are notorious for these mistakes lets not forget "New Coke", or "Microsoft Zune" or even recently with Nintendo with the "Wii U". It happens but i feel with Bulldozer something else needs to be added as it makes no sense at all from a engineering perspective to why they even thought that would work out well, from a marketing perspective yes 8 cores and high frequency sounds great on paper but engineers would never sign on to that. Not to mention if there's any tech savvy people here with a lot of knowledge when it comes to the history of bulldozer that would be great to as i would love to compare our thoughts.
  20. To be fair even a Intel Haswell I3 was a better pick then the FX the CPU was extremely terrible with IPC below the K10 even the only thing that saved it was the newer instruction sets such as AVX 2 and SSE4. I could go on for pages explaining why as i argued this back when Amd was showing off the design and i debated a person called JF-Amd(Employee from Amd) quite often about how IPC would go down and how applications wouldn't scale to 8 cores for years to come(2011 at the time back when it was a miracle for a game to use 2-3 cores well). Shared FP unit with latency issues across the board and a dumb L2 shared cache sure in the hell didn't help either. Amd engineers where quoted as saying "Hold the line on IPC" and they wanted to clock the CPU to 5Ghz, but of course Global Foundries couldn't do this. It was often said that they didn't expect Intel to make such massive gains in IPC either past Nehalem. Plus Bulldozer was originally thought of back in 05 but the engineers where split as many didn't think it was going to be worth it long term. Back before bulldozer came out engineering samples came out and board manufactures where surprised by how terrible they where so they probably assumed the FX wouldn't be worth it and didn't invest the $$$ into making better boards. If anyone is interested in a LONG very LONG back story of bulldozer i would be very happy to talk about it but i somewhat want to forget it ever happened i want to remember the FX(FX-60,FX-53) as it should be remembered the beast that made Intel cry in the corner and cheat to stay relevant.
  21. If you are just gaming grab the 1600AF its a 2600 that is slightly downclocked a little
  22. I threw up a little its a 4+1 phase board jesus christ please don't OC it. If you MUST put a fan over the VRM i mean directly above it. You will want to stay at 1.35-1.4V or less you can probably get to 4.4ghz or so at that voltage again put a fan over the board's VRM(next to the CPU socket). When these boards came out many people where upset since they could barely handle a stock 65 watt FX CPU. These FX CPU's use a TON of watts i remember when i had my 8350 just clicking on chrome made my PC use 220 watts now its at 84 using ryzen.
