Haha, yeah sorry I'm Cuddlebumble on the folding home page. It definitely sparked my interest in folding, doing it as kind of a 'competition'

I have bought a 1080 ti to increase my numbers at the next folding week.

My GTX 1070 does 610K PPD and My GTX 1080 does 800K. So i would say your PPD is okay.

@palespartan I logged my points at 24.00, but didn't put them in because I wanted to hear from you first. I see you have put my points in, and the 300k difference from what I logged and what you logged is acceptable to me. I'm just going with your PST-standard then. :-)

I only got my GTX 1080 spinning but will add my GTX 1070 later today when I get to my PC at work.

Unless otherwise stated, I will log my data into the excel document at 24:00. (I'm in Scandinavia, so 24 is in 4,5 hours.)

Last three months I've used 649KWh.

    Subscription to Energy company: 6,26$
Subscription to the company delivering the power: 15,31$
Cost of the power: 38$ (649KWh)
    Tax/toll: 181$
    Charge for automatic payment: 1,65$
    VAT: 48,40$

Total price for 649KWh = 290$ (0,44$ for each KWh)

My country has an insane welfare system, which is extremely expensive - Hence the need for all those taxes/VAT. Sorry, that was a bit off-topic.

My point was that Folding week is gonna be an expensive one. :-)

I try not to think about cost when folding. I pay half a dollar for each kilowatt-hour I use. The only upside is I do also have the possibility to use F@H on my GTX 1070 when at work.

@bcredeur97, my GTX 1080 does approximately 830.000-870.000 PPD. And that's without my CPU running.

@palespartan, I don't know if you have done it intentionally, but to edit your Google doc and enter the F@H username I had to request access.

So I've attached a Youtube video since the file is 30MB and the max allowed size on the forum is 20MB.

What you see in the video is a stress test running on the GPU, the temp stabilized at 70 degrees as usual. Then I hit the CPU burner, which instantly causes the PC to restart, which is why I suspect a PSU problem, even though it doesn't draw more than 400Watts.

So I've gone ahead and bought a new PSU, and after installing it, it seems like that the problem has disappeared. So the conclusion is the PSU was the culprit, and I will be returning it as it is only one year old. I've replaced it with a Corsair RM750X.

Alternate.de and Amazon.de are look-worthy. Or if you have business account you can use, Mindfactory.de.

None of my regular shops seem to have a 1080Ti in your price range.  They're all either £850+ or €1000+

prices have dropped, in my country you have the strix for under 900 euros avaiable today.

@Lockram what he means is that the seller charges you the VAT from your country. For example if in your country the VAT is 21% and you buy from another EU country and there VAT is 19%, you will pay the difference. They will not charge you the amount in the website but the price with your VAT. It happened to me, but not all stores do this, i have no idea what are the rules.

I've never tried folding before, but I have used BOINC in the past. I have now installed F@H, on both my desktop (i7-7700k GTX1080) and my laptop (i7-7700HQ GTX1070) and I'm now definitely ready for a folding week.
