I'm not sure. I'm thinking around $120-$200 CAD, but it depends greatly on the phone. If I get something used eBay(.ca) would probably be my best bet, Amazon for anything brand new (preferably).

My current phone is a Motorola Moto e5 Play, and while it has been pretty good (for a phone that cost $120 CAD brand new), it is starting to get a bit sluggish and I'm ready for an upgrade. It seems prudent to spend a little more on this next phone than I did on my e5 Play. I've been looking at getting an LG G6, since I feel that at this price range it would make more sense to get something used. The Moto G6 is also a possibility. What would you people recommend? I don't have a lot of money to spend (I'm 17 and jobless) so don't give me a "budget" recommendation that costs $250 USD.

(SPONSORED) Flagship specs in a Mid-ranger?? – OPPO Reno4 Pro Showcase

Apparently it is. Phone manufacturers and people who get sent dozens of phones every year for free get a little out of touch with reality sometimes. As far as I'm concerned, nothing above $300 is "budget". -

Considering Linus did basically nothing, that's pretty good. I found his head looked a little photo-shopped and almost seemed just a tad too big, the coloration and expressions also reminded me of Bilbo Baggins. The voice was probably the least convincing as is sounded a bit robot-ish, but it wasn't too bad. As a random aside, the actor they hired looks a lot like my physics teacher which is weird. -
what's the thing that triggers people about your pc setup?
Computernaut replied to Ashleyyyy's topic in Off Topic
I don't know, since I've never gotten any comments but... I have two screens of differing aspects ratios and resolutions, my webcam is off-center (it doesn't fit atop my main monitor), and I use a super generic keyboard and mouse. I'm hoping to rectify some (if not all) of those "issues" in the near future. -
I thought of this exact idea a while back and wondered "why has nobody done this, it seems like a good idea". If this was done by a better brand, I can definitely see it being a great product.

I had a watch before I had a phone and I never really stopped wearing one. I also find it easier and more convenient to glance at my watch rather than having to take out my phone.
-
I carry my phone (in a belt holster), a Swiss Army knife, keys and my wallet. I also always where a watch.

Who is you FAV in whole LMG(except LINUS himself)?
Computernaut replied to NOTsoFast's topic in Off Topic
That's kind of sad. He was probably one of the funniest and most interesting LMG employees. -

I don't know. It's not so much specific people so much as sets of people. For example Alex and Linus are usually very entertaining to watch, but that goes away if they are separate. Jake and Linus are also a very amusing combo, so maybe he's my favourite...? Dennis is...well...Dennis. -
Thread for Linus Tech Tips Video Suggestions
Computernaut replied to CPotter's topic in LTT Releases
Part 2 of the ricer PC. What even happened to this project? I guess it's what I should expect from LTT, but it's still sad. Another suggestion would be a series (although hopefully one that doesn't take 3 years) where (in each video) a member of the LMG crew builds a computer. I'd like to see Taran, Dennis, and Colten each try to assemble a PC. Riley would be amusing too. -

Overall, Taran and Alex look the most convincing. Colten looks really sketchy (as if he didn't already). James looks like someone who goes to my school and Anthony looks like the bearded woman from The Greatest Showman (IMO) -
7680x4320 or 8K seems to be the next major resolution to hit the mainstream, 8K monitors, 8K TVs, Display Port 2.1. It's still a ways off, but again, it seems to be the next big thing. Here's what I find so strange: 8K is 4x 4K, 4K is 4x 1080p, and so on. Parallel to this line is the other less common stream, 1440p is 4x 720p, 720p was 4x 360p, etc. In terms of pixel count, the sequence goes like this 360p, 540p, 720p, 1080p, 1440p, 4K - It alternates between streams, this actually makes a lot of sense. My question is this, why is the next step 8K? wouldn't it make way more sense to go for, oh I don't know, maybe 4x 1440p? 2880p would continue to follow the (until now) general trend of alternating sequences. Doesn't this make more sense than trying to make the huge leap to 4x an already crazy pixel count? 4K has 8,294,400 pixels, 8K has 33,177,600 pixels; 2880p would have 12,441,600, this would make it a good middle step... right? It is possible that we've seen the end of the (admittedly less common) sequence of resolutions, or could 2880p come along later?

I chose Mint because it is based on Ubuntu which has the largest user-base, this helps if I have issues. I've also experimented with it before. I might one day try Manjaro, since I do tend to hear a lot about it. The other one I want to try is CentOS, I know people who use it regularly and could help me with it.

Okay, the explains it, but sometimes I can't find a command. Anyway, I actually am taking another crack at Linux, this time with Mint using my old computer. My goal this time is to try and make it look like Windows. I tried doing it in a VM but it didn't work. If I have issues (which given my bad luck, I probably will) I'll put a thread in the OS area of the forum, maybe then you can lend some of your Linux know-how.

Okay, point taken. I have tried using Linux on various computers that I wanted to tinker with, each time with a new objective in mind (usually something small). I have tried to stay away from the terminal, but every time I have to come crawling back. I try to install a program, and yes, sometimes I can just copy/paste a command and it works, but often I have to do some other command first that perhaps I didn't know about, or I have to download the program as a file with a strange extension, then I have to bumble my way through trying extract it, the command is always weird, and the exact steps changes based on which guide you go to. I've tried Googling problems and sometimes that works but it's no guarantee. Windows is just a matter of downloading the .exe, double-clicking on it, and then just hitting "Next" several times. No commands, no weird subtleties. I have found that dependencies are not always installed by the program, sometimes you get a long string of gobbledy-gook that is caused by a driver, or some other program, or whatever not being installed or configured properly, but of course you don't know that, you just have to guess. I don't pull this stuff out of my ass, I have tried multiple times to do various things on Linux and every time I've had a frustrating time.

I probably would switch to Linux, even just for the novelty, but for two things: The first is software; most of my programs would work, even my games, but if I need some random little tool to do something, or I need a program that can perform some small task for me, then I know I will be able to find that program for Windows. If I were running Linux, I would think "Oh, look I can use this program to do XYZ" and then shortly thereafter "Oh, wait, I can't, it's only available for Windows/Mac". The other main problem I have is the command line, there's a lot you can do without ever opening a terminal window, and I really should invest the time and effort to learn how to use it, but as it stands just no. Every time I've ever tried Linux, I've needed to fix something with the command line. If there's a problem you basically HAVE to use some random command. Even installing programs: "Just run this one command and you have the program!", but no, first you need all the dependencies, and you have to install them in the right order, then the program still might not work. It's just aggravatingly fiddly. In a more general sense, I feel like Linux is just doomed to perpetually be the underdog, yes there have been improvements, yes the community might be growing, but it's not enough to make the Penguin a viable option for the majority of people.

Who says it has to be used rarely? I'm sure they could find something to do with it, even if it means ditching MacOS. -
Good question...

This stuff could be good for attaching those little heatsinks to the non-GPU parts of a graphics card for when you have an LN2 pot on the actual die or if you were to attach a CPU cooler to it.
