  1. You say reasonable only 2 options gtx1030 gtx1050 apart from these everything is out of your price range most people are in the same boat as yourself. If those options don't apply only suggestion wait till new generation of gpu's are released to get the gpu it might be more affordable (lets hope) as for tax return stuff umm i dunno maybe set aside the funds its better then buying it off your credit - you're attempting to build a computer at a rather difficult time and your budget is considerably tight i would buy everything apart from the gpu now and add that later
  2. Seems like its very possible these are hacked accounts prices are to forgiving knowing the current demand for graphic cards -
  3. I was just doing random searches for gpus and i saw rather decent prices on rather expensive gpu's are these for real i've bought stuff off ebay before but does this imply crypto is loosing its grip on the gpu market. Or are they just parting with the old cards? Seriously a 1080ti for $139 gtx 1070 for $90 that seems too good to be true! https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=gtx+1070&_sop=15
  4. Is your case a Slim profile? If it is it won't allow full size cards like gpu's
  5. You mean you have slim profile case is it MATX, ITX? Or are you just upgrading the motherboard and nothing else??
  6. I'm sorry but NOBODY is buying a 1950x to game on it i mean you pick the very 1 thing that it doesn't do well its not targeted to gamers infact is not advised to gamers on it. Pick any other threshold of comparison and 1950x wins by some pretty stiff margins. I don't think that has any merits when comparing HEDT yeah i'm pretty sure the 7980xe i9 will win head to head amd didn't target the 7980xe it was devloped after the 1950x came out in fact they targeted the i9 7900x the 7980xe was intel response to the 1950x @ twice the cost.
  7. I wouldn't be attempting such aggressive oc on my gpu considering how much one cost to replace your lucky to find them at any relatively acceptable value in the first place.
  8. Most all ram manufacturers carry lifetime warranty so you should be ok for the most part. As for the motherboard as along as you can update it - i really doubt you will have incompatibility issues realted to ram over the last few months bios's have matured. most if not all boards are atleast 95% compatible to all ram on the market aslong as its the type supported by the motherboard.
  9. Iphone customer is = to a drug addict looking for their next fix they'll pay any amount if it says apple on it.
  10. I believe this is what your were referenceing When it comes to the actually partnership yes they will inturn be asking AMD to do all R&D and at that point deploy it to intel and it would become single cpu/apu design around a single chip. Very different idea then what intel has on hand currently at there disposal with their current discrete graphics It really speaks volumes why they hired former Amd radeon lead graphics division Raja Koduri. The video goes into all the detail. about partnerships involved basically intel's way of cutting nvidia completely out of the gaming/pc market this could change things. If Apu could be as efficient and pack enough performance to rivial desktop class cards in a single chip could result in a shake up at nvidia
  11. Bitcoin isn't actually mined from graphics cards its the other ones that are trying to ride the success of bitcoin like altcoin, eutherium and about 10+ more that still are using gpu's. If bitcoin was banned it would have to be universal to all of them not just bitcoin to have a real affect. How are they using the other currencies in conjunction with bitcoin well they mine whatever currencies give them the most returns and convert it to bitcoin. At the new year bitcoin took a major dip it wasn't because a lack of support it was people taking their profits at the beginning of the newyear support never really fell during this peroid. But there is a greater risk to our economy if all of a sudden bitcoin was no longer a traded fund alot of our markets would be hugely effected by that.
  12. How much money do you actually earn if you only have a single rig minmium 2-3 gpu setup mining erthrum or equivalent currency. Because it really cant be worth it at these prices for the single machine setup unless you live in south america/china/germany Where power cost are very minimal?
  13. To be honest the difference in games @1440p will be less then 5% difference @ 1440p the limiting factor is no longer the cpu its the gpu at that res; https://us.hardware.info/reviews/7602/16/intel-core-i7-8700k--i5-8600k--i5-8400-coffee-lake-review-affordable-six-cores-gaming-benchmarks-gtx-1080-ti-battlefield-1-dx12
  14. It sounds like you're thinking logically from a budget that probably can't deem it necessary if what he's playing its BF1 -thats the message i'm hearing but most seem to be i7 elitist get him the i7 why because hes a gamer not all games need an i7 i think the point the op made was clear i5-8600k will be more then adequate still needs to buy other hardware like the gpu and those aren't cheap these days.
  15. The truth is it isn't his hardware it's the patch causing the reboots more then likely. Not sure if there making another patch to address the current issue or not. I believe its possible to roll the update back but you would have to disable the auto updates services aswell. But you wouldn't get any other updates if you did that AFAIK. https://www.theverge.com/2018/1/18/16904726/intel-meltdown-spectre-fix-higher-reboots
