For the past 4 years I've been using a laptop as a desktop since Microsoft support broke my desktop and well the laptop I was using which had a broken screen is needing to be dumped as its at wits end. I have amassed some money for a new one 2000 US dollars. Wherever I go I always feel I cannot trust the reviewers as they may have been payed to say that a laptop is good but in reality its not. I have gone back and forth between various sites reading reviews and suggestions but have decided this would be the best community to ask myself. I got a MacBook Pro 13" w/ Touch Bar but feel I could return it and get something else thats better but for a cheaper price. Gaming isn't a worry for me as I have a xbox one that can provide all the entertainment I need. it would mainly be a laptop used for college, and at most civ or hearthstone. Im wanting it too last me a good couple years with a decent battery life so I wouldn't have to plug it in at school but a shorter one is fine. My biggest thing it that if I can help it I want to return my MacBook Pro and spend money on a switch or clothing or some other nice thing
Also the reason I'm looking to know what you use is that I've found public surveys to be more telling of a product then reviews for example a computer like the MacBook Pro may get amazing reviews but few people own it because its over priced. People who l have always wanted to ask would be staff from LTT who may rely on a laptop for out of office work or out of work, Linus may use the Razor stealth blade but he even said it wasn't the best.
From the many people that browse the LTT forums daily there must be some that have more of a insight on the current laptop market than myself.
Have a Happy New Year.
