  1. The only problem is that I can't fit a boom arm on my desk due to my second monitor arm. Another good option! But I might still try and use my hd 558's and a separate mic first.
  2. Hello all, I have been using a logitech g930 wireless headset for audio/discord while gaming for a few years now. Aside from the audio and mic quality being lackluster, the padding on the top has worn out and now this very heavy headset is sitting on my head and I'm starting to get migraines during long gaming sessions. So I was thinking of a few options. I also currently own a pair of sennheiser 558's that I primary use for musing listening, but they are super comfortable and light. I would love to switch to these as a primary headset for gaming but I need a mic solution. So I originally was thinking about buying a yeti and using that on my desk. The problem with that is I have no desk room and the only place I could place it would be way off to my left side and it would be directly in front of my computer. I have an air 540 case so it's not loud but definitely noticeable over ambient noise. Also I couldn't use a boom arm because the back of my desk already has a mount for my second monitor. I could buy another headset but the cost is an issue plus I already have these nice sennheiser headphones sitting around that I don't use very often. So I looked into a modmic and that seems like an ideal solution but I do have a few possible concerns. I think the mic quality sounds great but I currently don't have a dac that supports a mic just my headset and I'm worried that audio through the motherboard might have some EMI noise. I could buy a new dac but from research they seem to be fairly expensive and I'm also currently in the market for a 1080ti so funds are tight right now. I would really love some thoughts or suggestions! Thanks! EDIT: Motherboard is an ASUS maximus VII hero with 4790K
  3. Just for warning anybody the pc port of this game has been getting slammed for being poorly optimized with lag on any system configuration in the menus and QuickTime events. And 30fps cap
  4. I have one and thermals are very under control. Only other issue is short battery life but that's what you get with a super thin gaming laptop
  5. My favorite mouse! Almost half off what I paid !
  6. Looking for good deals on ssds or large hdds
  7. Gaming on an Ultra wide with games that do a good job at supporting it is amazing. It's like having an extra 3 inches on each side of a 24in 1080p monitor. Bf4 is a good example. A bad example is arkham knight where it stretches animations and makes everything look crappy. I would say that a majority of games support officially now a days. It's pretty awesome
  8. The gs60 ghost pro model i purchased was under 1700 at some point but that was in the US. Not sure where you are purchasing from. THe ghost pro has a 970m which is a beast of a gpu
  9. Fio is really nice I own one and would recommend
  10. If you want lightweight, the msi gs60 is an awesome choice. I'm loving mine and with the 970m it can power basically any game at high-ultra settings. But it can get kind of loud under full load but it does stay relatively cool. The Razer blade pro is terrible value considering the specs, I'd rule that one out immediately. If this is going to be a primary laptop for school, you want to get something as light as possible. Trust me half way through the semester you will not be lugging around a 10lb laptop plus a bag full of books it just won't happen. Now if you plan on not taking it to class or moving it from your dorm/apartment then by all means go for the highest end monster you can buy for the money. Linus and Luke seem to love the g751. The new models they just announced with the gsync screen will be amazing as well. Id go with either of the aorus models listed or maybe even the g501 if you need the 4k screen. Those will be more portable than most of the others listed.
  11. I have an rm1000 powering my gtx 780 sli system and that psu even on full load is basically silent. I can't hear it compared to any of my other fans
