  1. Sometimes you can't just move. It's a very expensive thing to do and it completely changes everything in your life 100%. Finding a new place, finding a new job or getting a job that can even support you, Selling where you currently are, Selling your things or packing them and getting a vehicle big enough to move them, etc its not easy at all and can take years of prep.

Have you gone to the tax office and tried to get it fixed?

I’ll never understand why someone would use RAI…

Hmm I might be going R6 now instead. 18TB of free space is a lot more tempting then 12TB in R10. + the extra redundency is nice. Although non of this even matters if i cant get my main pcs network connection issues figured out Hopefully the new Ethernet nic will fix that.

Only real value is apparently quite a bit faster rebuild time as well as write speeds.

But if you have 4 drives why not go Raid 10? or any other raid with a hotswap? I have Raid 5 on my server right now specifically because I want that chance at redundancy but also the capacity boost

  13. So time for a shit storm against epic games?! I can agree with that! Speaking of, excuse me while i rid my system of any trace of that launcher or the games and then spin up a vm for it.
  14. get some more posts up and post this in classifieds. Also look on ebay and kijiji.
  15. If it worked before that's weird for it to as there are specific channel configurations built into the motherboards and ram configs and if not set up correctly will not work because they can't communicate correctly
  16. @plshelpHere's a diagram from their site to help with the ram config.
  17. So that board only supports ram in 1, 2 ,4, and 8 dimm configs. Others will show up but can't be used. Make sure to fill all the blue slots first and then black slots after.
  18. Make sure you have only the standoffs you need. Line them up with the holes in the motherboard and remove any extra.
  19. Yep that sounds right for the in use and available ram. And the right amount of dimms are detected for the total ram detected. What motherboard?
  20. Read and write speeds are different for every drive as well as the read and write on each drive never being the same. Reads will almost always be faster then writes as well. A 5400 rpm drive will generally be slower at everything then a 7200 rpm drive due to the nature of the speeds the platters rotate at meaning it takes more time to get to the spot where the data it needs is. There are exceptions as drives get better but this is the general case. In terms of writing and reading speeds, all a drive has to do to find what it needs is lookup where the info is and then copy that to ram and then what ever it is copying to. Writing it has to find a designated empty spot on the drive to write, plot that location and what data is going there, Read the data from the ram, and then finally write it to the disk. Here's another good explanation: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hard_disk_drive_performance_characteristics
