    I'm pretty sure I saw him at McDonald's today about a few minute drive from their studio and warehouses. It's actually the 2nd time I've seen him there.

    I see Elon's cosplay as a social media ceo is still going well as ever. I hope more people are finally catching onto just how unbelievably inept this man is. What's the employee count at now, 2000 left from 7500? I'm sure most of those are people stuck there on work visas who can't afford to jump ship.

    I'm willing to bet that most people who are building a decently powerful computer are doing it with gaming in mind. Sure, there are productivity uses but that's likely not the majority. The next computer I put together will largely be based off the gaming performance of its hardware. Nothing else I do on my computer requires a high end cpu or gpu.

    Are people still surprised anymore? Were all seeing what petulant man child really he really is. For the record, I don't care how he wants to run Twitter. He can rule it with an iron fist and ban who he wants. The market will eventually show Twitter the door.

    Yep. A kvm is what you need. I grabbed a cheap $15 usb kvm that let's me use my same keyboard and mouse on both my work setup (laptop and docking station) and my home pc. I just have to press a button on it to toggle the inputs.

    Yeah, you will likely be affected by it with VR if you get motion sickness in general. If you still want to try in VR, just play in short durations. Some people have reported having motion sickness in the beginning but then later got used to VR and got motion sickness less.

    Short answer, yes. But performance will vary depending on the game and headset you use. With that gpu you might want to find a second hand Rift S as they are a bit lower resolution than other VR headsets and easier for your GPU to drive.

    I try to make my hardware last a bit. I have a mortgage and a family to feed so I can't drop money on upgrades all the time. I'm currently running a 3700x with a 3070 ti on a 1080p 144hz screen. I might look at getting a 1440p high refresh screen and maybe a 5800x3d next year to give my rig some more life.

    I honestly don't care who gets banned or unbanned on twitter. I'm just pointing out that few remaining advertisers Twitter has might jump ship if Elon keeps this up. Regardless, I have my popcorn ready.

    lol, he just unbanned Trump. I wonder how many more advertisers will flee now. At this point I'm starting to think he's just tanking twitter for the lulz.

    I kind of wish I kept my old gear. It would be cool to display my old voodoo 2 card somewhere but I think it's long gone.

    Any chance that you have vsync enabled and GTA is playing at 60hz on your display? I've uninstalled the game since but I'm pretty sure that I was hitting well over 60fps playing at 1440p dsr on my 1080p 144hz screen (rtx 3070 ti with 3700x). But to echo what everyone else is saying, just drop some settings. Often dropping from ultra to high in most games gives you a good boost in fps with minimal noticeable change in quality.

    Advertisers and users started bailing on twitter day 1 when he took over. Employees who haven't been fired are fleeing the company. Twitter's reputation is now a dumpster fire. I'd be amazed if they recover from this. Elon isn't just ripping out the drywall, he's smashing through with a wrecking ball without thinking of the consequences.

    I'd agree in principle but he's further damaged the company severely in both value and reputation. He's basically dug that whole 10x further in a week then told his team to start digging up.

    I do have a linux boot partition on my computer but I don't think I've booted into it in nearly a year. I do want to learn more but just haven't had the time or energy for it.

    If consumers think something is overpriced then they should speak up and say it's overpriced.

    I'm trying decide if I think he's purposely tanking twitter for some ulterior motive or if he's really that incompetent and detached from reality. I'm sure if any one of us were handed the keys to twitter instead we wouldn't have tanked it this hard.

    SSD all the way. HDD is fine for additional storage but the load times on a ssd make a world of difference.

    What's your target FPS and framerate. What platforms and games do you friends play? There's no bad choice between the S and X. If 1080p/1440p is your target fps, you should be fine with the S. But you do sacrifice a bit of storage space.
