  1. There is a bump, all rubber dome switches are tactile. Also weather the board is membrane or uses a pcb doesn't really affect the the keyfeel that much, its the switches they use, membranes/pcbs are just the sensing method the boards use.
  2. I've heard that sorbothane makes a great dampening material, but some people say that they get decent results using craft foam
  3. 1 - If you like the board then keep it, boards that have cherry switches are usually the same, cherry switches are usually quite consistent among different boards so changing a board might not help, also some people say that cherry switches and others have a break in period where the switch will feel rough and scratchy and it will get better overtime. 2 - Not really, unless you want to go the boutique or custom route. Gateron switches and some Kailh switches are smoother than Cherry switches, if you want smooth linear switches take a look at tealios, healios, kailh creams, and box reds, but those switches are not seen often on consumer boards (notably due to the lack of support for wave soldering for the zeal switches) 3 - No I wouldn't get all plastic keyboards, they're flimsy and cheap feeling. Get something with a thicker plate and one that is an enclosed design, I have a brass plate in my m65 and it sounds pretty good.
  4. I would recommend KRYTOX GPL 205 GRADE 0, and TRIBOSYS 3204. Unless your board supports switch top removal then no, I woulden't lube the switches without taking them apart. Please don't do what some people online do and just soak the switch in dielectric grease.
  5. Sometimes it does, for example, matias switches apply a generous amount of lube in their springs to reduce the ping sound that is common in simplified alps switches. In addition to lubing the switch maybe swap out the springs as well.
  6. Take a look at Taihao sets they're a few bucks more expensive at ~30$ and they have relatively good quality double shot pbt caps. I would save up for some better caps tbh.
  7. Yes there are plenty. Ducky makes some coloured ones, also the upcoming Ramaworks U80 is a colourful rgb tkl.
  8. Most sets on Massdrop are at least 20usd+, with the good double shot abs caps like gmk and jtk caps costing 80+ usd.
  9. I could be wrong but doesn't the G703 use the pwm3366 sensor?
  10. What does have to do? Oh this product is made in Germany, so it has to be 120% better than this one made in America and 5000% better than this one in China.
  11. How about switches like Zealios? They're produced a lot less than cherry switches and if you ask people in the keyboard enthusiast community they will say they are a lot smoother, made from better materials and tooling, more tactile and a better switch in general compared to cherrys. And guess what? They're Chinese cherry "clones" made by gateron.
  12. I would recommend box reds as well, less stem wobble and I would say they're both just as smooth, do note that box reds have a bit less travel.
  13. Kailh switches differ a lot in feel and quality depending on what design and type they are, for instance the razer kailh switches are super turboshit, scratchy very inconsistent, while their box switches are very nice and smooth, and are very durable (80m) and I would argue are no longer cherry clones, as they don't share much in general with cherry switches other than their mount and pin layout.
  14. Cherry switches are quite overrated, just very mediocre switches. Most of their switches are very scratchy and unpleasant, this is mostly due to their scratchy and unsmooth housings and sliders. For example, here we have a gateron zealio sider compared to a cherry brown slider. Cherry actually used to be good at making relativity smooth switches, as shown by the difference between a new oldstock vintage mx black and a modern mx red rgb switch.
  15. you could always get invyr pandas xd.
  16. Do note that Gaterons specifically earlier versions have quite a bit of stem wobble.
  17. Gateron box reds and gateron reds are much better than cherry switches imo, cherry reds are super scratchy compared to gaterons and box reds, also I wouldn't consider box reds as cherry clones, as kailh's box platform is quite different from cherry mx, only thing the 2 share are the pin arrangements and mount. Not all cherry clones are the same, take for example, ttc reds and tealios, both are linear cherry mx clones, the tealios are a lot smoother than mx red (not a high bar to beat tho) while the ttcs are scratchy.
  18. Tealios are a mid-heavy linear switch, some of the smoothest stock switches you can buy.
  19. Keycaps look subpar, most likely lasered painted abs, but that also applies for like 80% of all rgb keyboards. Cheaper keyboards will often cheap out on certain areas, most often things like keycaps, a solid mounting plate and stabilizers.
  20. https://kbdfans.cn/collections/fully-assembled-keyboard/products/fully-assembled-tofu-60-keyboard?variant=17810657116218 Just bring your own caps. Alternatively you can get Gateron Yellows or Reds which are smoother than cherrys, but not as smooth and nice as the tealios. You can also get other builds with different cases and pcbs for instance something like a hotswappable gk64 and a kbdfans 5 degrees case.
  21. neither tbh. at 200+ euros for a mx board that's just outrageous, I woulden't get a 200 Euro Mx board unless it was a squid, or had hiroses or dixies.
  22. What are you going to use it for? Maybe try the Atomic PCB? It's a ortholinear gird keyboard. Or maybe a Clueboard Double 1800
