  1. I've been in the market for a projector for quite some time, but I could never justify paying $800+ for a 1080p model. Some pico-projectors seemed okay, but it seems that most of the better ones still only have a native resolution of 720p. This LG monster looks pretty awesome, and actually kills two birds with one stone for me. My apartment's ceiling is like 12' high, so mounting a projector up there was not going to be a fun or easy task. This would be a welcome solution. Thanks for the opportunity!!
  2. Yeah, I don't know. In one forum, I think it was Tom's Hardware, someone claimed it wasn't uncommon for the battery to die in 3 or 4 years. I guess my rig is getting to be about that age. Maybe I'm doing something that could be draining the battery. I'm running more or less default power settings. Although when I power down the machine, my power strip does seem to continue supplying power to the machine as MOBO LEDs remain lit after I shut it down. Maybe I should shut everything down, including the power strip.
  3. Excellent. Thanks! I was having trouble finding it in the motherboard manual. Seems like a pretty quick and easy fix. Thanks for the help!
  4. Is there a standard size/type of battery for MOBOs, or would it vary depending on brand and model. I've got the Asus Z87 WS.
  5. Hey everyone, I've been having an issue with the Date and Time settings in Windows 10 Pro. Whenever I put my PC to sleep, in hibernation or power down, the date and time seem to get stuck at that moment. On other forums, I've read that lagging date and time could be the result of a dying CMOS battery on my motherboard. I'd like to hear any other options if you guys have any before I start fiddling with the hardware. Oh, and I made sure it was set to synchronize with internet time; it doesn't seem to make a difference whether it's time.windows.com or time.nist.gov. Thanks!!
  6. I'm accumulating components in order to build a PC for a friend of mine so that we can play Arma 3 together. He served with the US Marines and really misses it, so whenever he visits I let him take over my PC for a few hours. I was planning on just throwing in a 1TB HDD to keep cost down since it's easy to find those for around $45, but heck, I'll take an SSD for a boot drive if you guys are offering! Good luck everyone!
  7. I'll be honest; I had never heard of Feenix brand products before this video, and I've been subscribed to Linus and other hardware connoisseurs' channels for at least 5 years at this point (Linus, NCIX, Jayz2Cents, TekSyndicate, etc.). Although each of the items look great, "elegant" is definitely the word to use, I'm most excited about those beautiful closed back cans with 50mm drivers, the Aria Headset. I love the design philosophy with the stained wood backs. I am a musician and general lover of anything audio, so I'd be curious to try these things out.
  8. Thinking about building a PC for my nephew for Christmas, so this would be a pretty good start! I find the design of the Kuhler 1250 to be pretty wicked. Two pumps, and the fans look like they're optimized well for static pressure, so they probably won't need to run at high RPMs. Yay for silence! Cool stuff!
  9. Honestly, I'm just really impressed with the GTX 900 series architecture, both powerful and efficient. Also, I've never owned a Zotac product and have been curious about the brand for some time, so this would be a great opportunity to check out one of their more premium products. Thanks for the opportunity, and good luck to everyone!
  10. I admit I'd never heard of Dbrand before this post, but I really like what they're doing. Makes sense; 3M vinyl wrap is strong enough to adhere to your car, so why not use it to protect your expensive devices? Plus, the customization is fun! As for the Z2, I really like the advertised ruggedness of the product. Dust proof, water proof and even submersible! Whaaaaaa??? But! It even gets better! Unlike the rugged Casio commando types out there, this phone actually has some beefy hardware to boot! (< You Canadians are rubbing off on me, lol). Snapdragon 801 Quad, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, etc., etc. What's not to like?!
  11. So, these new boards do have support for the old 4th generation Haswell processors as well as the next gen Broadwell? I currently have a core i7 4770K with an Asus z87 WS MB. It's a good combo overall, but I was a little frustrated with the lack of functionality with some of the software. The 4 Way Optimization function of AI Suite 3 never worked correctly and left me with pretty weak overclocks (4.3 GHz). Asus is claiming they've improved the software with these new boards (5 Way Opt.), but I admit I am a little skeptical.
