Unfortunately the more niche the more comprises I have to make. For example I was trying to find a RGBW 3535 diode, and could only find one purchasable anywhere.

To be honest I was surprised to even see one being up for sale, but I ordered a sample and I'll see how they turn out. That said they have 80CRI which isn't amazing.

In the similar listings there was WRGBWW, which made me curious if it was possible to break even further away from RGB. I'll definitely consider a spectroscope if I'm able to source proper LEDs for this.

I found a company that does something similar to what I'm trying to accomplish: https://lumenetix.com/tunable-color/ (warning: their site is absolutely awful).

Specifically amber, cyan, red, mint and blue but this seems lacking in greens

For lighting applications, especially room lighting. Trying to implement this as a display would be an absolute nightmare, not only do you lose significant resolution, but there's no supported method to render utilizing all those colors.

What I'm describing isn't necessarily an approximation of rgb, but an expansion on top of it.

As for the 365nm and 740nm, my thinking is that this expands the visible spectrum approximated by rgb (435/700nm) to the maximum limits of the visible spectrum. Yes this can be a problem for some individuals, but my goal here is to design a light source that is truly able to emulate any visible color for my own enjoyment.

I always understood the color gamut space as a 3d object with lime, red, violet, black, and white being the main points.

Therefore having an additional warm white channel doesn't seem like it would do much.

I can understand the applications for it if that's the case, as you are able to get perfect white and perfect warm white interchangeably instead of just perfect white with RGBW.

But I'm only hypothesizing and it might be beneficial to increasing color gamut.

looking at this chart, it would seem ideal to have
violet, teal, lime, amber, red as that's where the chart's peaks are.
    You could get 6 3535 SMD diodes (365, 480, 520, 620, 740nm, CW)

This covers the upper and lower range of the visible spectrum. Though this isn't ideal as those are still fairly sizable packages, it's very difficult to find a large range of wavelengths with smaller diode packages.

Acorn Eye got a reaction from Ben17 in Can you mod a chassis mount socket to fit on a PCB?
I'd have to create a socket to adapt it to a PCB through hole. This is more complicated and probably expensive than just simply getting the $8 pcb mount one.

The $2 chassis mount ones are pretty much the same,

The K70 is very much overhyped. Poor build (especially the wrist rest), non-standard bottom row, an obnoxiosly loud spacebar and at a fair amount higher in price than similar boards.

I will restate my earlier point. It's some switches on a PCB. It's not a miracle and failure is unlikely. Don't fall for gaming company hype. You can get super cheap boards with better than Cherry switches and proper keycaps that will last a long time. Sharing some options might make recommendations easier, since keyboard availability doesn't seem to be universal

I'm no electrical engineer but if I had to guess, there's still liquid inside the switches causing a short with the leaf. Sounds like your pcb is fine.

You might be able to access the switch housing without having to desolder them.

As a bonus you could buy some thin lube and lube the spring and sliders.

If there's any dead switches, turn over the pcb and short out the two legs, if that registers a keypress, the pads are fine, but there's something preventing the switch from shorting out.

Got my box navies in the mail yesterday, just tried transplanting box jade springs into the navies and vice versa.

I thought the spring wouldn't be enough to reset the click bar but it works just fine.

Compared to a stock jade its quieter and bassier (though higher pitched), and for some reason also feels lighter though very close.

Box jades with a box navy springs feel very similar to navies, except higher pitched and louder.

You don't know it's not the keyboard, you could have gotten unlucky 4 times in a row. Test on another computer to be sure.

I'm not even sure to be honest, more buttons and a rotary encoder to supplement my 96 keyboard.
Probably, not the point however, just a hobby.

Not according to Peter Thiel's fellowship guidelines, which all you really need is meaningful progress to a vision. I've already outlined what the product would be and what components we would need.

I just feel like throwing together a website really quick for the idea to showcase myself a bit. Hence the business name and all that.
