Sorry, not the greatest pic. I'm going to add a bottom cover to hide the drives and make it look a little more slick. Thinking about getting the outside painted in a yellow & black pattern, but I haven't decided on a design yet. I am looking for ideas on creating a 3.5" cage or mounting options behind the mobo tray, I have a few more I need to squeeze in there.
  4. I liked the original prototype way better. This is far too bland...
  5. Thanks for the heads up, I'm happy to see a company reach out to their customer base. I left a lengthy list of changes I'd like to see, I suggest you all take a second to help them get a feel for what enthusiasts now-a-days want. This way something like this can become far more feasible for the general public who don't have the necessary skills to build their own desk or the money to buy something like the Red Harbinger.
  6. Those are based on a cumulative of the hardware manufacturer's recommendations. A good reference is to check out part reviews where they measure total system power consumption and scale it to your hardware accordingly. Anandtech is pretty consistent at measuring power draw in their reviews, below was their total draw with their system. Of course yours will vary (i.e. you have 2 mechanical HDDs where they don't; which will draw a couple extra watts under load) CPU: Intel Core i7-3960X @ 4.3GHz Motherboard: EVGA X79 SLI Power Supply: Antec True Power Quattro 1200 Hard Disk: Samsung 470 (256GB) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3-1867 4 x 4GB (8-10-9-26)
  7. True, plus if you want the headroom for SLI or adding more HDDs, then it definitely wont hurt. Your total power draw on load will probably only be about 350w or so, but if you add a second GTX 770 in SLI then you're looking at a little more than 500w.
  8. I love it, puts my Air 540 to shame. Did you just custom cut the vinyl siding?
  9. i5-4670k The others are overkill for gaming and this will give you the best performance per dollar ratio, by far.
  10. My case (Corsair Air 540) is for lazy cable management
  11. That system is no where near a 700w load; but I totally understand the forward thinking, I did the same. I'd stay with the 80 Plus Gold, Platinum is overkill in my book. I like the RM series, they are super quiet but then again the AX series is good for modding since they sell replacement sleeved cabling without need to a DIY or extension solution.
  12. If you're not water cooling or modding, perhaps the Hadron. And the price is justified, like everyone has said, it comes with a good 1U server power supply. That said, my preference is the Prodigy or even the Phenom from Bitfenix (they have the same interior structure).
  13. Really depends on what you're using it for, but there aren't many tasks/games that take advantage of the higher speed. You'd be hard pressed to see any tangible difference in actual use. That said, its a good speed increase for a small timing increase.
  14. I'm with him, my old X3350 (the Xeon equivalent to the Q9450) ran similar temps around 1.25v, maybe a few degrees higher since I was using a Big Typhoon.
