  1. Just wanted to say I agree, and I love your Pillz-E icon. ~All Hail Foamy
  2. I know, that's the joke, I was gonna buy next week, but I already have the money, so screw it buy now
  3. Well, time to buy a backpack to help support mah man Edit: yeah, it's just a joke, but was gonna buy anyway next week, so I just bought now instead
  4. Well considering on my end I have no problem with outside mounting, but hey second hand knowledge is better than going in blind, I'm currently looking more deeply into it during my breaks, but I have a couple months till I head home again from work so I have time to find the best options for me, so more help from others couldn't hurt
  5. (On mobile, bugged out couldnt reply or remove without a full retype) Roof is not possible due to his being extremely sloped with giant tree blocking the peak, but at my place I have a spot where the Wavlink is mounted (but doing nothing) where something else can be mounted, on his end if something on his it would have to be something inside, currently the AC1900/EX7000 is in his front window with a direct line of site to where the WAVLink is, but gets better signal to the actual router on the other side of the wall from the wavlink. Never heard of ubiquiti nano beam, I might have to look into that, does it work through glass?
  6. There is no modem, it goes from the antenna directly to the Router, and most of the time wired is good when wifi is borked in my house, his house it seems hardware doesn't want to play nice Exact opposite of cross street, like top left and bottom right corners, ~200 - 250 feet from front to front
  7. Thank you in advance for any and all help
  8. I need help with a network setup for mine and my uncle's houses. Story: We live in rural Idaho and other than Hughes net our only two option for internet is a tower to house with sattelite dish like antenna 30-50mb/s max down, or Centurylink ADSL 1.5mb/s max down (insider information from people who work there, they will not be upgrading at all or running new lines anywhere near us for the next 15+ years) so we use the OTA one, but my house is the only one that can get signal, his is in a spot that is fully blocked by a neighbor, our houses are opposite corners of a 4-way intersection. Current network: Strong 25+ mb/s down speed Netgear AC1750 (Main Router) Netgear Nighthawk AC1900/EX7000 (Uncle's extender/router) Wavlink AC600 (not in use, but have POE ran to the outside) Problems: Wavlink AC600 drops out all the time and when connected has a max down of <1mb/s. When connecting the AC1900 to the router as an extender has 3/4 bars connection but occasionally is limited to 3mb/s down when the rest of the network has nothing connected and just doesn't allow internet access when signal is perfect and main router has no problems. The Netgear AC1750 frequently provides <5mbps over wifi (tried every channel (2.4ghz & 5ghz) but when I swap over to ethernet only I get full speed. I'm sick of how frequently everything has to be reset to fix issues. What I need help with is 1) A stable router that I can have to accept internet from my provider (provided over POE Antenna) that doesn't have buggy as hell firmware with 4+ Lan ports, 1 hardwired for my room, 1 for an access point on the other side of the house, 1 for a hardwired run to another computer and 1 for the next thing. 2) A Strong POE Antenna to broadcast signal across the road that isn't a POS like the Wavlink garbage i have I seem to have bad luck and I just want to get something that works without requiring full resets 1-3 times a week. I want to know what you guys think would be the best solution for me as I suck at this and even after hours of googling and reading reviews have no clue Edit: Basically my goal is to allow him to have enough internet to access my plex server, his family to do school project research without the need to come over and play games (they mostly just play mario, pokemon, mobile games and other switch games)
  9. i now see what you are getting at, and i haven't seen in a while someone mentioning individual parts/prices and have the expectation of it selling as such whole, than again i haven't been actively reading the past 5 or so months on here like i have for years up till that point. My post was meant to be parted out, and after reading my post again with a new look and i can see why it can so easily be taken as a "how much can i sell my PC as a whole for" kind of post, sorry for not being clearer, the last few PC's of mine were parted out to friends and this is the first time i intend to do any of it online and just looking for help since im further out of the loop than i would like to be due to work and vacation travel recently.
  10. Ty for your input, and i do understand the subjectivity of prices in regards to used parts. even so i would still feel bad if someone were to even offer anything near that $300 example, my initial idea was based on recently sold prices and the more input from others the better. yeah the fans i figured aren't worth much and was planning on jsut putting them in my brothers rig. i only mentioned it was the OC version not to try to see if it was more valuable or anything, just to specify which one in case there is some weird quirk i didn't know about that could be problematic. Thank you for your guys help and opinions, i have a better idea about pricing now.
  11. Im starting a new job that involves a lot more travel then in the past and am trying to work out the pricing and such on my current rig as I am not going to really use it anymore as after initial training i will be traveling between hotels 5-6 weeks at a time with only a week of between those blocks, I don't want to rip people off, but i also don't want to, for example, sell my 7700k for $25 or my 1070 for only $50. I thank you in advanced for any help with letting me know what is priced low, and what is priced high as well as more appropriate prices. Currently what i was thinking (before shipping) from recently sold ebay listings and the like: i7-7700k: $150 Asus Strix 1070OC: $125 EVGA Supernova 700w G2: $50 ASUS ROG STRIX Z270E: $75 Corsair Vengance Pro RGB (black) 3000Mhz: $50 per 2x8gb set, i have 2 sets. 3x Corsair LL fans + lighting node: no clue 3x Corsair HD RGB + lighting node: No clue 2x Noctua A14 PWM: no clue Noctua NF-F12 PWM: no clue NF-F12 industrialPPC-2000: no clue Fractal Define S: no clue (pretty sure not worth shipping anywhere, but want to know how much i could possibly get on like craigslist or something)
  12. well steam backups wont work if steam removes the game from libraries, and if it removes only downloads the backups might or might not work. As for GOG it is a nice way to backup, the only problem is alot of games are now too big to fit on one bluray and it's still like $3+ each for blurays from most locations, even when buying multipacks.
  13. Budget: Best Buy has a good number you could pick up in person for $30-$35 (pre tax). you could use one of those while saving for a BD Writer. Personal Recommendation: Mine is a Asus BW-16D1X-U ($110 of Amazon (pre tax)), So far after a couple years it is great and haven't had a single issue with it and burned lots of Blu ray backup of my games from GOG and Steam.
  14. first job, started applying to every opening in town i could find as soon as i was 16, all the way till just before 20 when my friend who worked at Burger King put in a good word and finally got one. a real PITA for me. But you shouldn't expect the same length I'm most likely just an anomaly. Just apply and even with a online application talk to the hiring manager in person and show interest which also puts your name in their mind while going through applications and give you a better chance than just applying. If you have any friends who didn't screw up at said job ask your friend to mention you or something.
