  1. from people who pay attention to powersupplies used in prebuilds. they are usually at least decent units. doesnt mean one should load them with any more than they are designed to do do. not really, considering you are using a cheap adapter to adapt a cable that isnt meant to handle it
  2. CV550 is just a higher wattage CV450. So that one is equally good. CV650 is internally a completely different PSU, and a lot better Cv550/450 are good group regulated units (they are upgraded VS greys), but group regulated units in general should be avoided in favor of other options.
  3. Lower performance in general of anything multithreaded. Very few titles. You get lower performance in most titles. This includes stuttering in newer ones. Mostly due to lack of threads.
  4. Yea i was about to return to comment the exact thing seon exlained. Im 2 days late tho. The second stage hydrogen engine specific impulse is the reason why Delta 4 and Atlas 5 are far better at escape trajectory. There was apperantly plans for a "raptor" hydrogen upper stage for falcon, but seemingly got scrapped due to lack of funding. And morphed into the Raptor engine we know now.
  5. Reffering to the system power 9 that OP chose, there are lower end variants with the sub 400w units being notably worse. If you are just reffering to the sticket, that would be the case. Seems you are, my bad. Well my bad then. Missunderstanding of the words used here i guess.
  6. No clue what topology it uses Its an older workstation unit for lower end workstations. Its an OEM unit with minimal oppertunity to pjt more powerfull GPUs in to it. Edit: its more of a case of not knowing exactly how good or bad the unit is. Its likely ok, but its not suited for higher power GPUs or expansion
  7. Perfectly adequate budget unit. Servers have 2 to ensure continious operation as the cost of a single rack turning fully off is significant. The System power 9 above 400w is perfectly good aswell. It being the lowest end (its not) doesnt neccesarly mean its bad
  8. Workstation features it seems. And on the x570 board, actuall tested ECC support. But probably just HEDT oriented stuff
  9. Do you have a retailer we can utilize?
  10. Yes....... Inline with IF limitation (silicom lottery) of zen 1 That will certainly be a nice IF clock. Above the usuall early-ish speeds (silicon) that zen+ offers. Not unheard of. Again IF limitations is a silicon lottery. You can count it as "IMC" but its not as much the IMC as it is. The IF limitations is not the same as the early memmory issues. Its how high the IF can maintain a 1:1 clock before crashing. And since you cant change the IF clock outside of memmory speed, its essentially putting a soft limit on how high the common CPUs can clock their memmory.
  11. None of these are out of line with the IF limitations opp on Zen+......
  12. remember how getting anything to run above 3000 was inherently difficult? that was infinity fabric being terrible. remember how it went up to 3466mhz with zen+?
  13. it is the limit actually. it is the limiting factor by itself. as it is with Zen 2. some memmory being better doesnt change the fact that IF is mostly the limiting factor.
  14. Overclocks (speed not timings) on Zen+ has more to do with how high the IMC/IF clocks, as that has been the limiting factor with zen based CPU since day 1.
  15. Because Zen+ dislikes exceeding 3466mhz. As that is usually as high as 1:1 IF clock goes
  16. Its got 6 pin. Allegedly all standard stuff. I mean its not a great unit. Id still recommend saving untill you can get somethong decent. Or as suggested earlier, flip the 960 for a hd 7970 and get a better PSU
  17. https://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Z400-Power-Supply-475W-480720-001-468930-001-PSU/153920500617?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D225080%26meid%3D95af33bfbbbf443888a26e846bec3ef9%26pid%3D100970%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D5%26mehot%3Dnone%26sd%3D153920500617%26itm%3D153920500617%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057%26brand%3DDelta&_trksid=p2380057.c100970.m5481&_trkparms=pageci%3Ac0e2cc22-bbcd-11ea-8c5b-74dbd180e031|parentrq%3A0bc48a3a1730ac3d2a81a4eafffe344a|iid%3A1 Here is a better unit. Dont know if its proprietary 16/20/24 pin. But its probably ok. Id still wait untill you have a propper budget.
  18. https://pcpartpicker.com/products/video-card/#c=427,448&sort=price&page=1 https://de.pcpartpicker.com/products/video-card/#c=427,448&sort=price&page=1 https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/products/video-card/#c=427,448&sort=price&page=1 https://in.pcpartpicker.com/products/video-card/#c=427,448&sort=price&page=1 https://fr.pcpartpicker.com/products/video-card/#c=427,448&sort=price&page=1 you were saying? i know there are a couple of exceptions in there, but since you say "rarely". its far more common to find them cheaper. might be able to save here by getting 3200mhz cl16, which is equally fast in terms of latency. swap for some of the options mentioned earlier. samsung drives, with few exceptions, are not worth it compared to other offerings.
  19. Sadly, at this point in the US there is no such option.
  20. Define cheap. And has that definition changed since last time?
  21. I realize ive for some reason when lookign up rockets, managed to confuse the two when looking at specs. My bad.
  22. Falcon 9 heavy has 3........ Also doesnt change that other rockets could also have taken the payload instead. While the falcon 9 heavy is great and all. There are other rockets that can do the same, but with more launches under their belt.
  23. Indeed it does, but its not as if its lacking in that department in regards to other rockets with similar capabilities. Even if those options may not sit strictly in the US Atm, its one vehicle. So while it mat help other launches. It doesnt help them now. I do see the point tho. Fair enough. Same with the Delta 4 heavy, or Proton M. Which both have far more launches under their belt Seemingly the Ariane 5 can do it aswell, tho current active config is more for geostationary launches it seems. So assuming SpaceX was in its current state at the time of choosing. They still may not have been picked.
  24. How does this help the rover guys? Do they have a deep space stage that has been able to do corrections and be relitt multiple times? Well its also the case that spaceX may not offer what they were looking for, even if they were available
  25. I doublechecked this. You get 225w current capability with the PCIe slot + "6+2" combined. Which is alsp theoretically enough for 5700xt, tho at that point you are very much running at full current capabilities As i said. It will be fine running a single 6+2 pin. But if you are set on the 2060. Then there aint much i can do.
