I would but it would be a pic of Clarkson and that would be a sad time for me so I can't do it...
You know he is back right?
-
have you tried pushing down the keys surrounding it, that usually helps.
got a tad bit closer, but no cigar.
-
Paper clips and fingers both work well.
me fingers are to fat!
-
i have only ever used my fingers lol but most are just bent wire so not that hard to make
Okay, so yeah, I will steal me a paper clip tomorrow then!
-
Just buy one from amazon for 6 dollars. If you use anything else, it will likely damage the keys/switches.
Well I am kinda broke at the moment ($50 went to something else) so I would like to get something preferably for free.
-
So a buddy and I made a trade (He gave me his less than a year old K70 with blues switches and 50 bucks, and I would give him a EV frame.) so I have been using it, and although it is now one of my favorite things ever in history (I will never use membrane again!) although the keys themselves are super clean the in between needs some work, (mostly just hair from has dog) but sadly he lost the key cap removal tool, so I was wondering what would make a good replacement, and I have heard that a paperclip could work, but I am worried that that will damage the key caps.

1st PC was in 1997 and my Dad said it costs around $2+++ (I don't know if it is the true price). I cannot even remember the specs but we are satisfied since no one in the neighborhood has a PC and we have no one to compare. Storage Devices are Floppy and Diskettes. I think Hard Disk Space Size was less than 5MB.
Played Apache Longbow with a Blackhawk Joystick. and Prince of Persia
Dial-up Internet, And Yeah! No Forums except Mirc!
I remember playing Prince of Persia, and dying horrible, because I could never find out how to ever us the sword!

Every generation has problems with next one. Its never ending circle
I was just pointing to how much time i spend outside with friends having fun compared to how much time kids spend at PCs, smartphones and tablets these days.
okay, was kinda hearing as "we knew how it was done!", and I do agree with you. I tend to make it so I go out all day at least once a week.

56kb dial-up connection
cassetes
U had to buy games on CD only (or pirate it and it would spread from person to person, not online)
there was no youtube
phones were too big for pockets
No social networks
No online shopping
U spent your childhood properly
and the generation before you would say THEY spent there childhood properly, and that your generation was spoiled!

Back in my day graphics cards had as much VRAM as L3 cache on today's CPUs...
EDIT - oh, those fucking IDE cables were so fragile...
was bored one day and wanted to see have far I could get my old GT 9600 push my modded Skyrim... It got 3fps, but those where the most fucking solid 3fps you have ever seen in your life!

HEH (17 year old putting on an old man voice)
Back in mah day, we didn't have none of these garn-fangled new SayTay (SATA) ports, we had PaTay and Ahh-Dee-Eee.
We had MASTER drives an' SLAVE drives, ya had ta make sure that yer Ahh-Dee-Eee cable were plugged in ta the right drive with the right connector. We didn' have none of this equality nonsense that all you young whippersnappers(!?!??!) have today,
Okay, I'm dropping the whole old man thing because it's just annoying for me to do quickly.
The highest-end motherboards from way-back-when had electrolytic capacitors on them because solid caps hadn't been invented yet, or just hadn't been implemented correctly yet, and I know this because I have SEEN THEM.
The Pentium III did not have a socket, it had a SLOT ON THE MOTHERBOARD. I REMEMBER THIS.
CPUs did not have thermal throttling; if you took the heatsink off even at idle, it would instantly burn and die, and you actually had a risk of fire.
advanced power stages did not exist, and power delivery to your CPU SUCKED. Overclocking would probably be lethal to everything on your board.
Finally, MSI's flagship motherboard from 10 years ago looked like this:
And Asus's flagship motherboard today looks like this:
And this is coming from someone who is technically still in his day.
I laughed my ass off when I saw "we had masters and slaves" I was already reading it in a southern accent

Back in my day HDD's had rows of pins that could easily be bent or damaged, and you had to bend them back/fix them. SCSI/IDE drives, google them kids!
I'll post more, can't think of any right now.
Also, floppy copy times in total commander, who remembers those days?
Can I have one of those floating around, and I have yet to bend one!

fking sata drivers man.
What! I loved those 2 inch wide ribbon! They made for such great cable management.

This a simple topic meant to look at things that we take for granted today like UEFI, and ease of installing drivers! So tell away with your stories fellow linustechtipions!

It isn't deleted, I can access it..

Have you tried rebooting your PC or something ? ..

Workstation Graphics Cards,
AMD FirePro series
NVIDIA Quadro series
I understand that, but I was wondering in what range to look in, because they vary in cost a lot (160-6000) and I can't find anything on which are the best for this version of NX
-
so a friend came up to me and was wondering what if I could help him plan a PC meant for programming/working in NX7, and I am a little lost with what GPU to equip it with, because I am finding of conflicting info so does anyone know what the best value GPU is?
-
My dad is. I typically make the argument that my dad knows networking better than I do, but I'm much better with hardware.
that way with my buddy at school, I can make a fool of him with hardware, but the moment software is involved (expect with things like the BIOS) it is all him

yep, built a new PC for my grandparents, and installed zorin 9 on their old one and gave that to my mother as a early Christmas present!

Psh, their stuff does sound great!
hey, my issue with Bose is the price to performance, but if you get it half off then go for it.
For me it is running my new HD 558s off onboard sound (but damn do they sound great!)

For the same reason I hate Fiats? I don't know... they are ugly to me. Why don't I like eggs? I don't have an answer, I just don't.
okay, I wasn't sure if you used them and something was terribly wrong with it, I think I might go with the phantom, because getting the R5 will be a waste without liquid coolers...

They suspended him, but when the production team refused to work, so they BBC caved in.
