  1. I hope this isn't a repeat topic but I'd like to find a laptop that will take two identical SSDs and handle Raid 0 in the BIOS. Is there such an animal?
  2. I have been very pleased with my Lenovo tablet. How yours is awesome too!
  3. It is a good tablet though. Many non-techie buyers do not know who Lenovo, that they owned the manufacturing of the IBM ThinkPads. Not the best in the world, but not bad either. Thanks!
  4. Yep I have become very familiar with XDA forums and that probably is the best place. Nothing yet but I will keep looking. Thank you for the reply!
  5. Cool. I was thinking a weaker fan or a fan with a different configuration (angle of blades, rated CFM, voltage - this one was 12v instead of the usual 5, positive displacement, non-positive,etc.) would tend to block air. There are also blades that have different size surface areas and yes I may be making this more difficult than it needs to be but I like to be thorough. Ultimately I did not use the second fan because it really doesn't fit well in my older case. I will probably upgrade the case later this year and think about getting another fan then. To me it wasn't that obvious and I do sometimes ask questions, not just to be asking but to see if anyone else may have the same "obvious" question but are worried about getting rude feedback. Not that yours was rude. I'm talking in general. Regardless. Thank you for the reply!
  6. I tried it both ways and did not notice a difference. I went back to NOT using compression. I think that is safer for the drive.
  7. 476 views and not a single comment. Wow.
  8. I am just using Fraps, Audacity and uploading to YT and SoundCloud. Have not had much success with NVIDIA's ShadowPlay yet but it still looks pretty good.
  9. I ordered a water cooler with one fan. I have an OLD fan here at home and if they are the same size, 120 mm, but not the same brand and I have no idea what the CFM of the old one is, can I use one on one side of the rad and the new one on the other for a push/pull config or do they have to be exact matches? My thinking is that they can be close but not have to be exact. I know on some things like RAID, you must use identical drives. I know that is not related but it is an example of hardware having to match. Also with some RAM you must match. I'm sure matching fans would be better but what are your opinions of utilizing a spare part to try to improve cooling?
  10. Looks like it should rock. Many are talking about the RAM and I agree a little more is needed but I would also think about swapping that 2nd gen CPU for something newer. Not a must but just a thought.
  11. Hi everyone! I hope this is the place. I have unlocked and rooted my Lenovo IdeaTab A2109 but there are no exact mods for my tablet. I am wondering if you guys know what would most closely match what I have and preferably from Cyanogen. Right now I have a recovery mod from ClockWorkMod but it does not replace the OS of course. I am currently running Jelly Bean 4.1.1 and would like to go as high as possible with a compatible version of Android. Lenovo/Google seems to have no plans of pushing out another OS upgrade to my device. This is a Tegra 3 tab, front/back low res cams, SRS audio, yadda yadda yadda I have been to Cyanogen's site I have been to CMW's site I am registered at xda-developers.com And I have the latest Android SDK from Google on my PC Please help. Thanks!
  12. I'm not so worried about warranty. I guarantee if my phone is less than a month old those jokers are going to give me another one. I have have only bricked one device, a tablet. Thankfully that was bought from a local store and they took it back without question. No swap out. I got cash back and ended up getting a much better tablet somewhere else. I use Android devices. I always see these apps saying that root is required. I rooted my tablet and was able to get to some useful utilities. I can now edit system folders to update notification sounds and such and run some useful apps but thats it. There is nothing magical about rooting. I would say, for me, its just a box to check on a list of "need to do" steps when getting a new device. I like that it is rooted. I think it is worth it if you want full control over your device but don't expect much more after that.
  13. Bandicam looked good and I may use it but I was hoping for something free. Thanks for the help!
