  1. UPDATE: I tried again and was unable to get AMD settings to launch again to install drivers. Graphics settings did not recognize dGPU with new vBios but again GPU-Z did. I’m curious if I got a 3400G or equivalent so that it recognizes an AMD Graphics, I could force the drivers to be installed.. thoughts or am I still wasting time?
  2. Interesting find. I believe I did get the drivers updated but I’m not certain, I have since reverted to old bios to still have main driver. I will try to run GPUpi but the question remains on how do I make sure it runs of dGPU and not iGPU
  3. It was an extreme long shot, but after seeing the results when using iGPU display output I had to at least test it.. So a while ago, Linus did a video on having a mining GTX 1060 card with no display outputs be used by applying the dGPU to the application so that each game would use the GTX 1060 while using the iGPU for display. I know how this is done with NVIDIA cards through the video, but Im curious if this could be done for AMD GPUs. I currently have a RX 5700 that can be flashed to a 5700XT bios, but with that bios flash, it refuses to POST using the gpu display output. BUT when using the iGPU for display I get a post and everything reports correctly on GPU-Z. But I cannot figure out how to get each application/game/benchmark to use the dedicated GPU since NVIDIA Control is not available. any help?
  5. I unfortunately did not take good notes going forward but here is what I have completed so far!! MK2 "Front" (CPU SIDE) View, pre-tube runs. System is filled and being bled. System is tested and does extremely well. During synthetic loads Max CPU: 68C. Max GPU 55C!! AND 33dB DURING FULL LOADS. Still on the to-do list - drill hole for power button - paint acrylic black - remove psuedo-reservoir with quick disconnect fitting. - Try MK3 to improve bends?
  6. This post starts off lengthy but then picks up to be quicker later. I recommend jumping to THE CASE section if you aren't interested in the thought process and plan. Back Story SO! I am always into the a full pc that takes up very little space on the desk. And I recently moved from a large sit/stand desk to a smaller desk due to some new things in my life. Luckily I have been previously working with the Custmod cases. The Custmod SXM 6.3L is a wonderful case that allows a SFX PSU, ITX motherboard (53mm cooler clearance), and GPU length maximum of 183mm. The SFX power supply allows me to use a virtually silent PSU with a 80+ platinum rating. Flex PSUs are not close to silent especially before the Noctua fan mod. Plus they get expensive for performance over 80+ gold rating. My original build included: TO-GO BOX LM Delidded i7 8700k Cryorig C7-G Gigabyte Z390i Aorus Intel 660p 1TB m.2 SSD Gigabyte RTX 2060 itx Corsair SF 750W PSU Custmod SXM 6.3L Now this build was great for smaller gaming sessions, especially when I mostly play World of Warcraft. The system stays pretty quiet because nothing really demanded a lot of performance and therefore the fans never ramp up very much. But even with ambient noise at a soft 28dB. Testing the system at around 6 inches away from the front, it got up to 44dB WHILE IDLE. Which is absolutely silent for gaming with headphones but since my computer is in the living room, it distracted me often. (My wife didn't notice most of the time). NOW FOR THE REAL PROJECT I was able to grab a 1440p 144Hz TV, so when this system is reaching 50dB while gaming, so pushing it through a 1440p high refresh rate medium, the fans really start to ramp up, which is absolutely unacceptable if there are other people in the living room. This needs to be fixed. What I loved about the Custmod case was that it never really interfered into my mouse space. I could use the entire front portion of my desk with no trouble. So here is my golden standard points in the next build: - SFX PSU for quiet power and I already have SF 750W - Around 10L build. Anything towering over the monitor may look out of place - AT LEAST 120mm radiator + 15mm thick fan for possible custom loop - Monoblock CPU to eliminate excess heat leaking into other components - No longer than 200mm length to not impede on mouse space At first, it seems the Phanteks Evolv Shift with Hybrid GPU and 120mm AIO for CPU was the best solution, but that case is SUCH a goliath, and the bad airflow is a clear problem. We will back seat that idea. (we will never come back to this). Next, lets surf the internet for SFF cases that allow radiator support. It introduced me to a LOAD of new options. mainly from the company Warhead who have built several cases that mark off most of my wants. The main two cases are the WH Frisk case and the WH-Nano case. These cases do require a Flex PSU, but everything else is included. UNFORTUNATELY, Warhead seems to have stopped either selling these cases or paying attention to these case orders. I ordered the Nano on two separate websites, and one was canceled after 3 days then the other stayed pending for 3 weeks. After that time, I asked for a refund. I REALLY wanted to get this done before the new year. I simultaneously toyed with the idea of a custom case using parvum mod cubes and 3mm acrylic, but that didn't really go well. So I finally settled on a case. The CUSTMOD SXM 6.3L case, BUT with a custom front panel to raise the case height. A hybrid custom case is the best solution I could come up with since it seems no other solution is available on the market. Using the spine of the Custmod case, and taking off the front panel to replace it with a 3mm acrylic custom panel is optimal. THE CASE Here is the acrylic I'm starting with. I used a 18"x 24" piece then cut it into three separate 15mm wide sheets, and the 24" length is perfect. Sharpie marks indicate bending lines. Smaller marks indicate placement on how to attach to the back of the case. It may vary depending on how the bends go. MK1 of the Case. Good Start but it can be improved. Unfortunately, the bottom corner cracked while drilling holes using a regular drill. Luckily, I have access to a drill press. The holes were much cleaner. The bends here are sloppy and the connection is not super solid in the back. If you are curious about dimensions of bending. please get in touch with me. Total Volume 8.3L here.

  8. Anyone find anything? From the look at THIS PHOTO it looks like the bykski Terminals have the similar oval connection as the EK terminals. But I'm curious if anyone found from experience
  9. Hello all! I have a very interested Crossfire Build coming up and I’m intered if a dual terminal from EK could theoretically fit on a Bykski block. Are all terminals created equally? Beaides the XSPC ones of course

OzTalksHW has already done videos with the 1030 (here) and 1060 (here) with DifferentSLIAuto which do not require the SLI bridge because these cards do not support SLI or even have the connectors for it. Linus and Anthony also did SLI 1060s with the mining 1060 (no i/o) and a founders card through GPU Driver modding. EDIT/CORRECTION: They used DifferentSLIAuto as well and were unable to get mining card to work with separate drivers between cards. I understand there might be a performance dip, but I'm still confused where you are seeing the issue. I apologize if I'm missing something.
  11. With PCIe bifurcation and either DifferentSLIAuto or BIOS modding these issues are mitigated. Define splitter that supports SLI
  12. @Electronics Wizardy what about this? It seems you know about the server requirement which is why I ask. Does the Supermicro brand mean its for a specific server or is it just the part? Z370N-Wifi from Gigabyte supports Bifurcation. so with a Riser and DifferentSLIAuto it seems possible
  13. I realize this the bandwidth can't be physically extended with a riser. I'm talking about the required amount for SLI Certification. Which can be overwritten with DifferentSLIAuto.
  14. It seems DifferentSLIAuto completely wipes out SLI certification so the x8 requirement and the SLI motherboard support may be ignored. Just need to see if x16 pcie splitter is possible or if m.2 to x4 is easier
  15. dang. From my research (mainly LTT 980 SLI video) GPUs require a x8 minmum to run. The project was trying to fit dual 2080s (the Asus Turbo card and water blocks allow for single slot) in a SFF case. I know for a fact that GTX 1070 katana could do this but they are impossible to find. It wasn't for convenience or even performance but for straight "because I could." With splitters from m.2 to x4 PCIe then x4 to x16 PCIe splitter, I'm curious if with some BIOS tweak or DifferentSLIAuto will allow for enough bandwidth for the system to run SLI. But like I said above NVIDIA requires x8 for SLI
  16. This is what I just thought of. And I'm curious if DifferentSLIAuto could get around this support or if that system only gets around GPU SLI support. and what bandwidth does the m.2 slot have? equivalent to x8?
  17. How do I find if it supports it? Can you recommend a plx chip? Do you know of any x16 to dual x8 I could use? I cannot find anything useful in my initial searches EDIT: Found Another
  18. Is there settings I need to change in BIOS to switch PCIe lanes associated? I have a project in mind and it requires running 2 GPUs in SLI off one PCIe slot. We have seen tests that the x8 even (shown by Linus with SLI 980s way back and shown by Gamers Nexus in single slot) has enough bandwidth to hold x16 performance. Let alone the extra benefit with new PCIe 4.0. Can this be done with a PCIe Splitter Riser (like this one)? Any help is extremely appreciated
  19. So what AC Adapter are they using along with the HDPlex PSU? I’m assuming a normal 330W laptop adapter but curious if they had a larger one. I am actually mid build of a similar project too this.
  20. Honestly, this is one of the most fun builds I have ever done.Definitely took weeks of planning and research, as well as patience to make everything fit and neat. There are some slight things I would like to make changes with it, like the power supply, but it definitely happy with the finished product.
  21. Update #3!! So it all comes down to this, and Im excited to have it put together. This update is mostly pictures as I am actually in class most of the day. If you prefer video format a link is at the end of this post. Decided to go the route with a 3 way Flow Indicate and a Quick Release Fitting from Alphacool. Everything looks great and the be quiet! Silent Loop dissessembled and mounted extremely easy. The EK SE240 Rad and Noctua slim 120mm fans fit snug after taking out the front usb 3.0 ports. I may be able to reinsert this front i/o with 90 degree slots. With the graphics card installed, there is a good 6-8mm of space free for airflow. Everything up top is plumbed together. Graphics Card connecting to rad is last connection needed! Leaving these out to flush everything one last time with distilled water. Everything is connected and the loop has been bled to the best of my ability. After leak testing for 30hrs, nothing shows signs of leaking. Just running Distilled Water but plan to add EK Cyrofuel via the quick release disconnect to add the growth and corrosion additive (even though everything is copper & nickel plated copper).   22. If you can find G1/4” thread fottings for 6mm tubing let me know. I am having trouble finding them. Thanks. Goes from 8mm to 4mm. Nevermind. Immediately found a pack of 20 plastic ones on Newegg for $10 and Koolance has some low profile onces for $4 each. Plastic or Nickel?
  23. Last question. In case this project doesnt work and I have to use another aio dissembled, do these barba look loke they will work on g1/4” holes? Idk about the width of the threading?
