Day Long O2 Outage in the UK

I know, there have been a few cases of it being utilised in the UK, but it's mostly for big b2b stuff, rather than the broader consumer lawsuits you often get in the US, that's why I wondered if it might come into play here, due to O2 having a lot of deals with secondary carriers and larger businesses for failover broadband etc

Day Long O2 Outage in the UK

For individual users yeah, but giffgaff, Tesco Mobile, Sky Mobile etc run on O2's networks, and were therefore affected, also many companies use 4G broadband for remote locations due to the often patchy fibre coverage in areas of the UK.

Day Long O2 Outage in the UK

In the past they were, but for consumer and b2b sales and contracts they were introduced into law in the 2015 Consumer Rights Act

Day Long O2 Outage in the UK

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-46464730 https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/news/o2-down-compensation-free-credit-refund-airtime-package-4g-data-internet-a8672281.html I hadn't seen any mention of this on the forum yet so thought I'd start a topic. One of the 4 main cellular network providers in the UK had a day long outage nationwide yesterday. I'd be interested to see what backlash or potential class action lawsuits come out of this.

    Cheapest Way To Run 100+VM's

I know its an obvious question, but have you considered what sort of CPU core allocation you want/need for each individual VM, and what sort of network interface speed would be required?

    Cheapest Way To Run 100+VM's

Or you could explore using swap files and something like Intel Optane in order to minimise the load on RAM. However I agree that is does seem like a bit of a crazy solution!! We ended up having to do a similar thing in the business I work for, but that was due to a limitation of an old software suite the business was unwilling to replace and whose manufacturer had gone bust! Having gone down this road I would advise you to talk to the Devs if they are still around.
  7. I personally like KDE Neon, but it's really a preference thing, I would hop between a couple of different distros until you find one you click with
  8. I know, they are a real stickler for certain violations though, and he'd had a couple of warnings before
  9. Tell me about it, I only have BT and SKY offering coverage in my area (and for those not in the UK they both use BT cables anyway) They kept saying they would install fibre for home customers, and did...to the cabinet...in the business park...5 miles away from the city center...and about 7 miles from where the majority of people actually live. Thanks BT, I now get a blistering 3mbps down and 0.5 up
  10. Having worked at apple, you are expilictly told to do this, to never try to stop and theives unless they are endangering someone else in the store, just call the authorities. A friend I worked with grabbed someone steailing a drone from a display, and was fired due to it being a breach of company policy

    steam link alternative?

From my limited experience with the steam link you can play non-steam games on there by going into desktop mode, but it is clunky to say the least! I've had some friends buy the Nvidia sheild which they've had success with, and then using game-stream to stream from their PC. I've used Odroid Single Board computers in the past along with Moonlight game streaming to acheive a similar thing but for a bit less money and with a bit more flexibilty, but it is more of a DIY solution and will require some tinkering to get it to run well
  14. Install openPHT or something on it? Harvest it for parts? Doubt it would be worth alot
