  1. I have a colour laser printer. It is attached via an Ethernet cable on my router, which is in turn attached to by PC Ethernet port. So far, so good. However, I wish to reduce cable clutter and turn my printer wireless, as the printer is in another room and currently uses a long Ethernet cable. Can anyone recommend a decent wireless print server? Also, can I attach my printer via the Ethernet port of the wireless print server rather than USB? Hope this makes sense.
  2. Just treated myself to a rather nice Doogee T30 Ultra tablet to replace a failing laptop. Although it comes with a generous 256g of storage, I'd like to increase this via an SD card mainly to store things such as games. Any recommendations without braking the bank?
  3. Sadly, the profit margins are too slim. I used to work at an office retailer here in the UK. Customers would often ask if a free laptop bag/case was available to be thrown in for free. Unless it was part of a stated promotion from the store or manufacturer, the manger always refused as the amount being made was too slim. And that was no laptops with a higher price premium. Magazines here in the UK such as Computer Shopper, Micro Mart and Personal Computer World were chock-full of computer ads from retailers, many of whom no doubt started out building PC's on their mums' kitchen table. The fact they and the afore mentioned mags they advertised in are no longer around probably says something.
  4. I placed a couple of Asrock stickers on my wheelie bin. Not a reflection on Asrock of course, as my motherboard is made by them.
  5. Decided to go with this fella: https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-certified-Single-Rail-Non-Modular-Powercord/dp/B0C7LKLSMD/ref=sr_1_3?crid=Z81AYHNB7QK6&keywords=650%2Bwatt%2Bpsu&qid=1690402304&s=computers&sprefix=650%2Ccomputers%2C180&sr=1-3&th=1 Thanks for the replies.
  6. What about this one? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C7LJFVZN?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&ref_=chk_typ_imgToDp&th=1
  7. Okay, thanks for the prompt supply. Looking at replacements now.
  8. Hi. Just upgraded by system to a very nice AMD Ryzen 9 7900. Non X version. Along with 64GB DDR5 RAM. It has the 2TB SSD and the AMD RX 6600 I already had. Not a big gamer, using this machine more for content creation. The thing is I have a Sharkoon 550W PSU. I have heard 'iffy' and not very complimentary things about this brand. Should I replace with a 'better' brand?
  9. No point for most folks in getting an internal optical drive as they are used infrequently at best or not at all. Best to get an external USB drive for ''just in case'' use. This is what I do myself.
  10. I don't have that case. However, I do have a Jonsbo C3 Plus. Solid case and well built.
  11. You may need to update to the latest BIOS before using a 5600G or 5700G. This is what I had to do with my Asrock B550 Pro4M when I installed my 5700G.
  12. Using Win 11 as a clean install on my desktop. Got a new 1tb NVME SSD anyway so Windows was going to be a clean install anyway. My laptop on to other hand was suitable for Win 11 apart from the CPU!!! Used the beta for a few weeks on it anyhow and performance was okay. However, a few lockups were observed when displaying large photos. Went back to Win 10 which seems snappier and sharper to the eye. Is it me has Win 10 gained Win 11 style widgets or did i just not notice them before????
  13. Just updated to ver. 2.4.0.0. Sates my Ryzen 5700G is "not supported". Even though the official MS AMD compatability list states this CPU is now officially Win 11 ready. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/minimum/supported/windows-11-supported-amd-processors
