well, lilke all electronics they have fuses in them. yes, they are high voltage electronics and can be dangerous if you open one up without knowing what you're doing, but if you just have one as a tv it's about as unsafe as any old electronics are.

i did at first too, you need like a week with one to learn how it works, all the different keyboard shortcuts etc.

i don't just mean brands with this. for example my list: For laptops i always go with MacBooks. My OS outside of one Mac i have is always Manjaro, at least as primary. For phones i always use iPhones. when it comes to computers my GPU is always AMD, and my base platform is always something enterprise, like my current build with a server board and Xeon cpu's. For headphones i always go with Sony. As my TV i always use a CRT. My main computer display is always 16:10. i really hate 16:9... (part of the reason i use a 2011 MBP as main laptop, even though it does not run macOS. it has a 16:10 screen)

interesting projects are basically a thing of the past now. their now mostly gamer boi audience is not interested in optical cables or other practical things. they wanna see big numbers, so LTT is now more focused than ever on making stupid builds with Epyc cpu's just so they can put high core numbers in the thumbnail.

it's not that sites don't work, but they are more buggy. this forum has a few bugs in it that are specific to firefox for example.

the great thing about chromium was that it was clean. opera, vivaldi, brave and even edge all have stuff bolted on to the browser to make it different than the rest. i very much enjoyed the clean experience chromium gives you.

how is this good? it sucks for people using chromium.

that's not why i wanna use it. i want to use it because chromium-based browsers have the best support on the web, and vanilla chromium is just a really nice stripped down browser.

i rely on sync. therefore one of the biggest FOSS browsers is unusable to me now. and i'm not the only one.

chromium-based browsers already have all that stripped off. chromium used to be, but it'll be useless now if you need sync.

it does, you can either install it from Snap or the AUR.

if you must have a chromium based browser with google account sync you can just install google chrome, but it's not the same.
