  1. To be honest I never look at QVL... and never had problems. Just buy whats proven to work on the platform and form a decent brand. Make sure your BIOS is up to date, enable XMP and done
  2. They cant be clogged. MAYBE and I guess not damaged so the gas leaked. But that wont be the case. Are you running the fan on a decent RPM? Also I have never heard about that paste but yeha. Easiest thing is to remount and dust the cooler and see what happens. If fan optimizations and repasting dont help it might be time for a bigger cooler
  3. Your CPU supports dual Chanel mode and for sticks. Running single Chanel on Ryzen is close to a crime, because it HURTS performance. Running 4 instead of 2 modules doesn't change the performance, because the CPU does not support quad channel. So for example 2x8 will be the same to the CPU as 4x4. I reccomend buying a 2x16GB kit. You wont loose performance and will still have room for future upgrades. However with 32GB of ram you should be good for years to come. I also have 32Gb... to be honest: I rarely max them out when running normal Windows/Gmaing/Streaming etc stuff.
  4. Technically that is in spec and ok. But some believe that this will degrade the CPU a bit (make it last a bit less long) but I have never had or heard about a burned out chip (besides heavy OCing) So why is it that hot? Big OC or crappy cooler?
  5. Thats fine for an AIO. Especially if the AIO is not on full blast.
  6. Acording to our list it is rated as a B- unit. Therefore Idd recommend to upgrade that thing rather than swiping the fan. Ok that depends a bit on the hardware youre powering with it. About the fan: To run the fan there are only two wires needed. One for + and one for - current. The third plug is a RPM signal form the fan and the fourth is PWM to control fan speed. Therefore you can buy any 3pin fan and just not connect the third pin. Idd recommend NF A12 in a 140mm bracket. That should push good while being silent. The fan in your PSU has only two wires that makes me believe it is always running on full blast and therefore loud... But yea upgrade the PSU if you can. Also be careful about opening the PSU. There are caps inside that can potentially kill you
  7. Technically this is a OC. You have to enable the XMP profile in BIOS. That will load optimized timings form the RAM and work just fine. Outside of spec but fine! I am also running a 3900x wich is rated for 3200Mhz at 3800 without any problems. Just enabled the option in BIOS.
  8. The speeds you have there are the official specifications. However running that COULD limit the CPU a BIT. CPU and mobo are able to go faster. Idd get some 3200Mhz RAM. Enough speed and not really more expensive than 2933Mhz. I recommend Corsair LPX or (sometimes cheaper) Gskill Aegis. Thats not high end RAM but it will do the job just fine. IF you should run intro problems running it at 3200Mhz you can always tune it down to 2933. However if your BIOS is up to date 3200Mhz will run!
  9. The win key...? (not talking more about it ) Besides that: Gskill Aegis RAM might be even cheaper and same perf. HDD: Yeha get a Baracude Compute or a WD Blue. Whatever is cheaper. Rest of the build: yes
  10. Yeha this is verry hard to pull of software wise. I have heard about a App for Apple AR Kit that is able to do that. However it works much better on dual cam phones and best on the new iPad Pro with the LIDAR. But yeha that aint a normal phone cam
  11. Are we taking audio jacks at the mobo or front panel stuff? If front panel: Replugg and check the HD Audio connector. Maybe that got bumped/pulled of/ damaged while swapping the GPU
  12. The crash when replugging sata drives while the PC is powered on is normal. Depending on your amanboard you might be able to activate "SATA hot plug", but idd not recommend it for data security. Althoug this is verry rare: Maybe a bios update and/or CMOS reset will help you. Wich Mobo do you have?
  13. Yeha and even if it is supported on most BIOS it is turned of by default. Or maybe deactivated due to usage of another device. For example on some mobos using M.2 will disable some sata ports
  14. and to again state this: Doenst matter wich heatsinks or if its just stickers. I am a big fan of gskill aegis memory. Cheap and gets the job done but form a reputable brand.
  15. So you unplugged a drive and replugged another drive while the PC was running? Depending on the PC this is not supported and should be avoided. Or did the PC not boot up with the drives attached?
  16. THIS is exactly what YouTube was made for! Nice work
  17. I am not to share about that. There has been a huge discussion about that. PBO is not running 1.44 24/7 only for single core turbo. Allcore is lower! Are we talking Zen, Zen+ or Zen2?
  18. Well, it’s always a good idea to have some room for future upgrades etc. that you get with a full ATX mobo. There the cheapest non trash option would be a MSI B450 A Pro Max. However the M Pro Max is pretty trash (VRM is crap and not cooled properly) get the Mortar that has way better VRM. And going with the morta you can spend like 5$ more and get the A Pro Max. so yeha I am no fan of mATX Mobos unless you want to do a super compact build. Monitor: I don’t know enough about monitors to give a good recommendation.
  19. swap that tomahawk for a A pro max -> little bit beter VRM cooling but less bling bling but cheaper RAM: yes PSU: no! Thats only a B+ unit on our list. For productivity idd get something A. However yes you will be able to find something cheaoer than the Thermaltake. maybe the newer CX model from Corsair? GPU: As much as I am an AMD fan she might benefit from CUDA Case: yes CPU: Step the GPU down and the CPU up to a 3700x or maybe a 2700x (if you can find a sweet deal on in)
  20. Please use https://pcpartpicker.com/ Thats much siompler to share and work on the build together. Questions: Why micro ATX? Suggestions: 3700x and a bit lesser GPU -> more perf in those pro apps. 3600Mhz RAM (if its about 10€ more) Case: not a fan. Seems pretty airflow restricted
  21. Yeha Zen2 will be faster but his current CPU should be ok in most games. However Idd strongly recommend waiting for Zen3
  22. Yeha to be honest the pulse is also fine.
  23. Nitro+? I got that one on a custom block i know the fat cooler is a bit of a waste but I wanted to have the PCB/ powerdelivery. I can push ~2.15-2.2GHz with RTG more power tool.
  24. The Zen and Zen+ ones where (A LITTLE). The Zen2 (3xxx series) are fine.
