  1. Alright its a Intel Ethernet connection I2I9-v on the asus z170-E motherboard. internet speed through ethernet is stuck limited at 100 mbps no matter what I do. drivers have been uninstalled, reinstalled, updated more times than i can count. brand new ethernet cable (cat5e) and router has gigabit ports. the wifi speed I have is 200/10 but i just cant get my PC to get that speed through ethernet. been through 2 other motherboards that had this issue but worse than the current one. I can get internet at 100/10 with the port set to auto negotiate ( doesn't work on any other setting) and at random times at least once a day the internet will cut out for 20 seconds or so and then come back and work like it did before crashing. this has been going on for months and continuing the nightmare i had building this new gaming PC. Everything else works fine, just not this fucking ethernet port.
  2. I still have yet to solve my issue, pretty frustrating. Brand new ethernet cable, router works fine and ports are all gigabit ports.
  3. Nope, then there is just no internet
  4. Router should yes, my old PC never had this issue
  5. Link speed says 100mbps while set on auto negotiate. Brand new cat 5e cable. Router should yes, my old PC never had this issue while wired.
  6. Link speed says 100mbps while set on auto negotiate. Brand new cat 5e cable.
  7. My new PC has a wired Ethernet connection that receives only 100mbps down and 12 mbps up (Speedtest.net). But my wifi speeds to any laptop are 180/12. No matter what I try I cant get the wired speeds to match the wifi. Also sometimes the internet (wired connection) will randomly drop and come back a minute later. PCs running windows 7, ASUS motherboard with Intel I219-V Ethernet port. anyone got any ideas?
  8. Drivers are up all to date yes. I thought the ringing could be coil whine or something, but is there anything I can do? or just replace it?
  9. Ok, so that past month has been a bit of a nightmare. My new PC specs are i7 6700k, asus Z170-E motherboard, corsair H60 CPU cooler, ASUS GTX 1070 turbo, EVGA 650w GQ, 16gb DDR4 ballistix ram. Building this PC wasn't much of an issue but I originally had a MSI Z170-A SLI which had an ethernet port that would not recognize any connection. Returned that motherboard and ordered a new MSI Z170-A SLI and I had the same problem. Now pissed and never buying another MSI product I returned the second board and bought a ASUS Z170-A. This motherboard booted up perfectly and my Ethernet works fine but my wired connected is limited to 100mbps down and 12mbps UP, while my WIFI connection to any other device is 180mbps/ 12mbps. ANNOYING as all hell. the motherboard port is set to auto-negotiate, Brand new ethernet cable, and tried different ports on my router. ANY IDEAS? also, this computer makes a high pitch ringing sound. thinking it may be coming from my PSU. But if I listen right up next to the computer under my desk I don't hear it. anywhere else in the room I hear the ringing and its driving me insane. I adjusted different FAN speeds to see if that would change anything but it did not. Just running in BIOS I dont hear the sound or when the computer is off/asleep. any ideas? Everything else runs perfectly, all temps are fine even when running a game.
  10. Would love to get a new Razer blade. Would be a big upgrade!
