Looks like I'll be looking for ANOTHER mouse this summer. ?

The Razer Atheris would be the PERFECT wireless gaming mouse IF:

+The battery life was better.  (up to 175 hours per AA battery, which is underwhelming)

+The wireless USB receiver wasn't cheap sh*t! (It won't let go of the USB port, and IT'S LITERALLY FALLING APART.)

+The mouse didn't have any rubber.  The rubber makes my hands sweaty and pales in comparison to my wired Logitech G203 Prodigy's plastic grips.  I end up squeezing the mouse so that it doesn't slip from my hand.

+The mouse had good build quality. (The mouse's sides make a little crinkling noise when I grip it.)

+Razer Synapse was good software.  (It's ok...)

+Razer's wireless mouse drivers weren't TOTAL SH*T!!!  (driver-related connectivity issues)

Seriously, my Atheris's wireless reception is choppy, and it used to be worse.  Updated the mouse's drivers, which improved the reception, but didn't fix it.  And forget about the Bluetooth reception; it still SUCKS!

What a waste of $40 for a cordless, portable mouse! ?  (Yes, it was a waste.  Aside from the now deal-breaking cord, the $30 G203 was a much better investment.)

I had heard that Razer had been going downhill, but that their mice were rebounding.  They weren't.  The days of the amazing Razer Copperhead are long gone!  Goodbye, Razer!!!

Ok, so, what's gonna be my replacement?  The Logitech G305! :D   250 hours per AA battery, and wireless connectivity WILL be better based on reviews.  (Also, Logitech has proven themselves to be masters when it comes to USB wireless receivers for mice.)  Not to mention that it's got a better optical sensor AND that it is a wireless, upgraded version of my beloved G203! :D

Also, Logitech knows how to make f**king software, which Razer has failed miserably at!

The two things I will miss about the Atheris:

1. The design (shape & size).

2. It has the best goddamn scroll wheel I've ever used!

  1. Origami Cactus

    Origami Cactus

Have you used the scroll wheel on high end logitech mouses? You can completely free the scrollwheel, so it just continues spinning after you give it a good speed.

  2. Techstorm970

@Origami Cactus I've seen that in reviews.  I've never used or tested out a mouse that has that feature.  My first impression is that I'd find it annoying and end up scrolling too much 80% of the time, but maybe I'd get used to it.  Again, never tried it, so all I can do is guess.

  3. Ashiella

so basically what @Techstorm970 wants is a Logitech G900/903. Alright...
