  1. im not saying its stupid or the wrong call, my point is merely that it will cost more in the long term
  2. in those cases yes I understand im just saying if you are putting off upgrading there general machine's ones that don't necessarily have a compatibility issue seams like it will cost more and just put off the inevitable.
  3. I still feel that it will cost more in the long run as they will have to update at some point. It may save in the short term but not the long term.
  4. In general if I wait for it to force an update(restart on its own) I have never had an issue if there is one its usually found out by then and corrected. especially if you wait a month like prev suggested if there is any issue it will usually be fixed by then. If you arnt sure just see if anyone is still having issues and push them back temporarily. Just because updates can cause issues witch is true of any update weather it be phone game or word processor is not a reason to avoid being up to date when you can take reasonable steeps to avoid issues. That said it is your choice, But as a great fictional captain once said "risk is part of the game"
  5. yea, your right I was looking at it from my point of view where its a bother but I can get everything up and running fairly easly it just takes time to reinstall things and most if not all of my data is on other drive or my server. So not your normal avg user.
  6. Fair, still I think it needs a different term for the software brick, and I apologize if I was mistaken I had assumed you could just reinstall windows.
  7. I would consider it annoying in a home use situation but the data would still be there and you should have back ups. At the end of the day its an inconvenience but it just means you have to reinstall windows. I honestly wouldn't call it Bricking because you can just re install windows. Bricking is when your hardware is as good as a brick after something happens to it.
  8. It's been a long ride since then hasn't it. Ive enjoyed watching the journey that it took to create the LTT that we know today. But as to whether I take LTT for granted I don't know Id certainly miss it all if there was no more LTT but life would go on.
  9. Im a floatplane sub and I will still watch a few videos on YouTube if I see them first. I don't like click bait in general but i am one one of the ones that for the most part is not bothered by most of the video titles. Sure it would be nice if this was not the reality but I am not going to begrudge content I enjoy, when at the end of the day they are a business and they exist to make money. As long as more people will watch click bait titles it is something we will have to live with. The one thing I will say directly in defense of the titles for LTT, wile structured in a click bait way they are not for the most part that bad. Wile this does not hold true for all of them, most are answered to my satisfaction. Case and point the recent video "Should you buy a $50 CPU??" the video is true to the tittle they test a $50 cpu and see how it compares. TLDR Click bait is a problem, but LTT titles general aren't that bad in my book.
  10. Fair, but the question is how the silent majority feel they will have show a change is needed. Until the people stop clicking as loud as we are nothing will change.
  11. I doubt it will bottom out in the same way, hopefully it will change someday. But things have changed in the way we consume media.
  12. Any citations? I'm curious and didn't really find anything googling. I'm sure if that did actually happen they would shift the video titles to meet the demand. They can see such changes in a way they would not have been able to 100 years ago. Honestly though it is us as a populace and not them that is the cause. As I see it as I know I've certainly have added to data points clicking on videos that i never would have otherwise without such a title. As long as the populace in general reacts to the tittles with increased likelihood to click through to the video. Click-bait tittles are going nowhere and we just have to live with them.
  13. Im not sure how to get that working on the pc front, but in regards to Netflix at least, is there a reason you can not use the built in app for your tv assuming it has one?
