I have an IT friend who bought an EVGA GTX 550 superclocked and had his brother install it for him. By the way, he is running a prebulit dell computer. After several weeks, he opened his computer to clean it and decided to take the heat sink off without realizing what it was and he put the stock heat sink back on the CPU after he was done (he didn't reapply thermal paste). Another chunk of time passed by and he heard sounds comming from his computer. Turns out the fan blades (from the gtx 550) snapped off. I think it might had something to do with him cleaning out his system. Anyway, he RMA'ed it, and asked me to come over to put the old graphics card back in because he was too scared he would break something. I gave him the biggest face palm ever.

"knowing AMD"... apart from 1 bad architecture, and not having the infinite sums of money intel has, AMD has always delivered. they just needed to milk their CMT flop as much as possible, to be able to get enough money to make a new core.

look not that far into the past, and AMD was always either on par or better than intel. its only the Piledriver and onwards that was crap

I'm sorry but going by your comment you clearly don't "know" AMD. Because if you did you'd know that Intel's core series wouldn't have even existed if it weren't for AMD's K8 kicking Intel's butt in 2003. If it weren't for the Athlon64 Intel would still be on the ridiculous Pentium Netburst architecture it so loved and defended.
And guess what, the CPU architect that designed the only two architectures that beat out Intel on all fronts. Performance, efficiency and price is the same person working on Zen right now.

@daemonowner No, but if I buy a $170 keyboard, I want it to look like a $170 fricken keyboard, not some "1337 G4M1NG K3YB04RD." Could be a K70 RGB or Ferrari 458, I want the things I own to look and feel the price I paid for them.
