Hi everyone! This is my first build post, looking for some feedback/suggestions for a new build.
Aim
I use my setup for a lot of things, but mainly software development, audio and video production (FL studio & After Effects), as well as Adobe's Creative Cloud Suite for general design.
Occasionally I play games like Forza H4, Minecraft, Gmod, Rust, and some VR titles, but not too often.
I've got a Valve Index and started to notice some lag in Beat Saber, HLA and other VR games. I'm unsure whether this is GPU or CPU related.
This is my current build from October 2016:
CPU > Intel i7 6800K
GPU > MSI GTX 1080 Aero
MOBO > ASUS X99-PRO/USB 3.1
Cooler > NZXT Kraken x62
RAM > 32GB (2x 2x8GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200
Storage > Samsung 950 PRO 256GB M.2 boot drive
> Samsung 850 EVO 512GB
> Western Digital RED 3TB
> Western Digital RED 4TB
PSU > Corsair RM750X
I've looked around and made a temporary new build, listed below.

PSU > Corsair RMx 850
CASE > NZXT H510 Elite (or similar, recommendations welcome)
I also have some requirements/questions I hope you guys can help me with:
I definitely want to be able to overclock.
I'd also like if a TPM module came with the motherboard to be able to install and run Win 11 in the future, but I don't know a lot about firmware based TPM, do most motherboards support that nowadays?
If I understand correctly, there is currently no point in paying €100 more for an 11th gen cpu since the improvements are maginal compared to the 10th gen, is that correct?
Is there any difference between the ROG MAXIMUS XII HERO and the ROG MAXIMUS XIII HERO except the chipset?
The XII is €40 cheaper, is it worth going for that one or should I get the more expensive XIII?
I'm not sure if this mobo is overkill or not? Feedback appreciated.
Budget
The current budget is around €2300-2500 with an absolute max at €3000.
I'd love to keep it under 2.5K but with GPU's these days I've set a max at 3K.
Monitors
I'm currently using 2 monitors,
LG 34UC89G Ultrawide, 144hz 1080P as my main and a Asus VX279 1080P on the side.
I'd like to maybe add a 4K monitor in the future, but high refresh rate ones are expensive af so that's gonna have to wait a bit longer.
Peripherals
I will be reusing my peripherals from my current setup so no need to include those in the budget.
Why?
I'm planning on using my current desktop as a server (prob running esxi) for a variety of things. (Game servers for friends, local dev servers, linux vm's, windows vm's, etc...)
The current cpu I have does not have integrated graphics, so I would need a gpu for the server to run. This greatly increased my budget sadly enough, but I feel like buying a cheap gpu for a server is a bit of a waste. I'd rather spend some more and do a full upgrade.
I'll transfer over all my storage to the new build, so that isn't included in the parts list, except for the 1TB M.2 Boot drive. I'm planning on making a clone of the current 256GB one onto the new 1TB one and just using the current 256GB in the server as storage for now. I'll probably add a few drives later, but that doesn't seem necessary right now.
I have an unused noctua cooler for my current build, so I'd transfer over the watercooler to the new build and use the air cooler for the server.
Any thoughts, ideas or feedback is welcome. I'd like this build to last me another 5 years without issues and hope to use it as a server once I upgrade this new build in the future. Hence why I chose for a cpu with integrated graphics and a motherboard that supports that. That way I can save some money next time I upgrade and just keep the GPU I get now.
