Have you considered GPU rendering in C4D? You would need a plugin of course (Octane, FurryBall RT, etc). You have a 980 ti, a beast card for GPU rendering and it is so much faster. I used to render with Mental Ray but it is a slowwww CPU renderer. The C4D renderer is nice but I understand wanting lower render times. If you want a faster CPU renderer, you should check out KeyShot for C4D. It's the fastest CPU renderer that I know of and it is an industry standard for 3D designers. This Octane demo is taught by my colleague if you want to take a looky. These are just some alternatives if you don't want to have to buy new system. You have a decent workstation from the looks of it

How BAD is this? Logic board damage?

Probe points, eh? Ah, oxidation, I see. Thanks for clarifying. Hmm...indeed, they do look like contacts for I device I clearly do not have, haha. -

Unfortunately, I can't take it to an Apple Store until I replace the battery, which died last year, and my Apple Care expired in 2011. It might be best for me to take my laptop to a repair shop. If my logic board is shot, then I will likely just have to replace it, which are not as expensive as they used to be. -
Is this damage? My MacBook Pro beeps every sec 5 when I try to boot. This means there is a problem with the logic board. The backside of the CPU appears burnt or corroded in the image. I don't know if this is potentially related.

HELP - Chrome freezes my PC with my GTX 980 ti enabled

Oi..I hope don't have to resort to re-installing my OS. I might do this. Thanks. -
HELP - Chrome freezes my PC with my GTX 980 ti enabled

Okay, so I am using Firefox now, and fullscreening videos or maximizing windows does not make my system freeze. This is so weird because my system freezes in Edge. Don't understand how Firefox is more "stable." -

75-130 USD appears to be the typical range of this type of card. That's fair for this workstation card.

My PC freezes often with certain behaviors in Chrome and other software, (Edge, Autodesk programs). If run my system off of my i7's integrated graphics or if I swap out my 980 ti for a 650 ti Boost, my system runs completely fine. These below issues only happen with my 980 ti. These issues also occurred with a 970 that crapped out on me before I was able to replace it with the 980 ti. I do NOT overclock my 980 ti. Any suggestions and feedback is greatly appreciated. Monitors that I use: LG 25UM57-P Black 25" (HDMI) Sony Playstation 3D Display (HDMI to DVI-D) My PC will crash with Chrome if I: 1) maximize the window 2) go into full screen mode on any video (same result happens in Microsoft Edge) 3) click restore tabs if the cursor icon is still loading 4) open chrome from prior crash and reboot, especially if the PC froze from Chrome being maximized or fullscreened from a video. I have to reboot at least one more time until Chrome will work without freezing my PC again. Any time I check monitoring software to re-simulate these issues, none of my hardware appears to be stressed or spiked. I used NZXT Cam to record the charts and it sees is just a plummet during the crashes until I reboot the PC. I cannot view these dips until after rebooting. My PC can freeze while using content creation software (Maya 2016 SP6, MotionBuilder 2016, Substance Painter, etc.). My PC can freeze while using emulators (PCSX2, ePSXe, PCSX-R) if I: 1) use full screen Things I have tried but have no effect: 1) Update & downgrade nVidia drivers 2) Update Adobe Flash 3) Update Chrome 4) Update ASRock BIOS 5) reboot my system 6) shutdown and boot 7) unplug and re-plug my power cable. Colleagues' suggestions of cause(s) or linked issues: 1) Power Supply 2) Motherboard 3) PCIE x16 slot (power draw, defective, etc.?) 4) Windows 10 OS *Motherboard history: purchased as open box in 2015. No issues that I am aware of. Let me know if I have missed anything or if my problem is still vague. THANKS!
