  1. lmao they didn't even bother to kill off the Air-Line even though they were boasting about how much better the new MBPs are in comparison. Also, I get that your new "Touch Bar" (Tremendous naming btw) is your fancy new gimmick but could you seriously *not* show 3 forever-lasting on stage demos of how 'meh' it looks. I was kinda hyped for this announcement, hoped for something to fire back at Microsoft or at least NOT TALKING ABOUT YOUR TV BOX FOR AN HOUR .Sorry Apple, but Microsoft definitely won this one...
  2. Hey guys! So I am looking to buy a new TV and am in need of some recommendations. I plan on gaming on it, though it will mainly be used as my "Chromecast Output" to which I'll stream stuff. My budget is around 500€ (+some if necessary/worth it) and as someone that has never really been looking at TVs or paying attention to display technologies and such, I have no clue as to what I should buy. IDEALLY it should have a high refresh rate, though I found that a lot of TVs use weird ways to calculate it or don't list the refresh rate at all. Also, more than 3 HDMI Ports would be nice. 4K isn't a must, but would be neat in terms of "future proofing" (forgive me for using that term ) I kind of set my eyes on the Philips 43PUS6401 43" 4K TV - it has 4x HDMI, 3x USB 2.0, runs Android TV and comes in at 520€, so it would fit the budget. The size is fine, since I'd be sitting only about 2m away from it. It also got a software update that added HDR fairly recently. That's pretty much it. Would this be a good buy in your eyes? In a review I've read the reviewers negative points were regarding the "gaming performance" in Android TV and the upscaling of regular TV programs. The latter I don't really care about since I don't watch TV at all. But yeah, opinions and recommendations are highly appreciated!
  3. Okay, first of all I'll have to get rid of my current PC ^^ Then I'll probably buy the TV first since I'm not entirely sure on how I'll actually continue building around it. I mean hey, maybe without a PC I'll get a different view on it entirely! But thanks for the opinions/suggestions!
  4. What would be a 'game ready' PC in your mind in terms of specs? I want to avoid spending a ton on the system that'll end up being hooked up to the TV since I'd mainly be interacting with the laptop anyways..
  5. All fair points...the thing why I was looking at getting a console is that I could play games if I wanted but at the same time be able to just use it for BluRays/Streaming and such. The Skullcanyon NUC would also be a very interesting idea since I could hook it up to a wireless mouse/keyboard that I could store away in a drawer and still only have my TV on a sideboard and a (wallmounted) monitor on my desk to keep it clean and simple... The thing is though, I kind of want to avoid having two PCs so I don't always have to sync important stuff in between them.
  6. So I'm kind of at a crossroads right now where I'm not 100% sure what to do. This thread is not so I can load off this decision to you guys, I just think I need someone from 'outside' to give me an objective opinion (as much as possible anyways ^^ ). So basically: I don'really game anymore. I have time mind you, I just don't feel like firing up League, Overwatch or what have you (the latter doesn't even work for me atm lol) I find myself thinking "Wow I'd really prefer having a setup I could just store away/get out of the way whenever I actually want to use my desk" a lot recently I watch a ton of series, but I'd just prefer to be able to watch stuff on a TV from my bed (I already have a Chromecast, just no TV to cast to ) The idea of being able to play with a lot of my friends on PS4 seems pretty neat too, I've only played once with them at a friend's house over voicechat and it was an absolute blast So yeah, that's pretty much where I stand right now. Ideally I'd go with some kind of Ultrabook (either a Blade Stealth or god forbid, a MBA if Apple decides to update it) that I can easily use wherever I am, a PS4 (maybe the Pro, not completely sold on VR yet since I haven't tried it in person) and a TV set up in a manner that I can view it from my bed but also connect stuff such as aforementioned Notebooks or maybe even an external GPU enclosure. Please don't try and convince me to stay with the PCMR because it is so superior in every way because, don't get me wrong, I absoluetly love hardware. Putting together or tinkering with a PC is one of the must fun things to do imo, but actually using the machine just doesn't appeal to me anymore. I thank everyone for their opinions on this (or maybe even personal experiences)!
  7. CAM seems to be kind of hit or miss in terms of reliability though, for some people it works perfectly but for a lot of people (me included) it's quite buggy or flatout just doesn't work at all. At least it looks pretty...
  8. *thanks to the mod that moved/renamed this thread correctly btw ^^
  9. The specs are as following: - Intel Core i5 4690K - Gigabyte Z97-D3H Mainboard - 8GB RAM (some cheap'o 1600Mhz I think) - Gainward GTX 960 4GB - beQuiet Straight Power 700W PSU (80+ Gold) - 480GB SanDisk SSD - Coolermaster 212 EVO CPU-Cooler - LG Blu-Ray Burner (lost the BluRay-Playing software though) - Windows 10 64-Bit (My old BitFenix Nova for shipping/transporting it in) Then I thought I'd sell my case seperately, since not everybody wants to have a 900D standing beside their desk :') - Corsair 900D - NZXT Grid+ - 1x Corsair ML140 Pricing for the 900D here in Germany is about 375€ new, so with the fanhub and fan would 300€ be reasonable? As for the system itself, with pricing here it would cost about 950€ but I really don't know how much/not much I can charge for it since, well, it's used. Now performance is absolutely fine - I was able to play the Battlefield 1 Beta on Medium settings in 1080p with fluid framerates even. But again, I just kinda need help - what would you guys say?
  10. I pretty much lost my complete interest in playing games, but still love hardware and tinkering with my system.
  11. I'd say trim it maybe so you can let it grow fuller, but shave it off? No.
  12. Nice to see another friendly 960 OCer here Well for me personally, the maximum I could get (though I didn't really try that long to stabelize further overclocks) was +100 on the core and +501 on the memory before becoming unstable. It didn't really improve my fps much though, and since I got error messages and crashes in Overwatch with this OC, I stepped back even further to basically nothing. (The Bf1 beta worked fine though?)
  13. I have an LG one, lost the Blu-Ray Playing Software CD, now I have a DVD Drive bc I don't want to buy a 70$ key for software :')
  14. Yeah man I literally bought my B&O Play 3i a few months back...
  15. Pretty much this^ Just wanted to ask if anyone has had experience with disassembling this case or if I shouldn't even think about it. It wouldn't be anything fancy, most likely just a few plain white parts or some coloured accents. Thanks in advance!
