  1. Some of the early editing seems a little choppy, feels like keep getting Linus in the middle of a paragraph
  2. I'm not saying it needs to be a full integer step everytime, but an increasing number to reflect newer versions is easily read and understood.
  3. So the successor to U.2 is U.3? Are you paying attention USB people? This is how it should go
  4. I feel that at some appropriate anniversary Linus and Maddison should do a react video to their original RiG reboot vid.
  5. Linus's offhand comment about doing a build guide for, and with, beginnings is probably a thing worth pursuing. Maybe even a mini series with different hosts, different 'guests' and different platforms
  6. I hope that in this weeks WAN show Linus addresses the unanswered question from this video.
  7. It's cool and all, and some really impressive numbers but what is the benefit? I get the advantages to Linus, CEO of LMG but what about me, the viewer?
  8. Was it just me or was Linus wearing some prototype socks in the opening scene?
  9. A simple question, but one with maybe potential for a video. Has there ever been a better time to (not) build a pc? (Delete as required)
  10. thanks peeps, i'll pass the recommendations onwards
  11. So, a friend of mine typically works offshore or on the road. One of the things he takes with him for entertainment is his xbox one, he isn't the most techically minded so he was asking me for some games he could play, and now I'm asking here. The problem is that he has to play offline, and the majority of modern games require internet connections. So, any suggestions for xbox one games that can be played offline?
  12. *spoilers* (I guess) as i watched the video i was a little surprised by having a 3rd party actor in the 'Linus' role. as i was certain it was James. something about the positions, movements and gestures. glad i watched til the end. i am reminded that Arthur Conan Doyle gave his most famous creation the line "a man's walk is his second face"
  13. well done Linus for having an opinion, then being sensible enough to accept that opinion is incorrect and being mature enough to announce (with a dedicated video, not just a tacked on bit to WAN show or social media post) that you stand corrected. I've watched the channel for a good few years now, and will continue to watch.
  14. I'm not defending intel, I'm just not into slating them the way that every tech tuber seems to be. I just think that if a board can't support a chip, even with a BIOS, then it should have a different chipset and name.
  15. Currently in the process of watching the Gigabyte build stream and Linus's comment about LGA1200 struck a chord with me, I've noticed that other tech tubers have also been dismissive of Intel's new socket. Personally, I think the new socket is good. For people that understand compatibilites it isn't a problem, but for the general population it is a good idea. Picture the scene a couple of years ago; someone decides to build a new team blue machine and buys a 9 series processor, the box says LGA1151 so off to the motherboard aisle and there is a LGA1151 motherboard, decent specs and good price. Is it compatible? will it work? a beginner won't know, and might not understand why. Now picture the same circumstances today, the 10 series box says LGA1200. Straight forward, un-complicated. Walk past all those LGA115x motherboards and pick from the (small) selection of boards that will work when you get it home. OK, for us enthusiasts it is less than ideal. My i5-6600K has almost nowhere to go without moving away from Z170 but lets be honest, there is a damn good chance that my new platform would be AM4
  16. I was idly browsing imdb and saw this. So, my suggestion is 'A requiem for the easter egg'
  17. He's talked about it a couple of times on WAN show, short version is they want to retro fit AC. But cost would be serious, Linus found a typical LTT method (read bodge, hot-glue and faith) that he is pursuing.
  18. based off the last section of the editors newest system build stream. What is Windows Event viewer? what does it do? and most importantly, how do you use it?
  19. Thanks for the heads up, but of the five that article features 2 are chrome books, which i don't want. two are ones that region variants of the ones I'm looking at, and I did go check HP. but they don't sell any that are at my price point.
  20. Basically, yes I accept I won't get the tablet with keyboard case that the surface has, but a 2in1 style is what I'm after. The only two I've seen at a reasonable price are the Dell and the Lennie, was wondering if I've missed any
  21. So, my old laptop is getting abit long in the tooth and the time has to come to take it out back of the barn and... be merciful. Which is a long way of saying I'm planning on buying a new laptop, the thing is though is that I'm not sure what to get. I don't need a desktop replacement or gaming beast, but I do have a pretty tight list of things I do want. Basically, I'm after a 2-in-1, or something in the style of the Surface Pro, it doesn't need to be too serious specced and ideally I want a price that is 500 to 600 ish (GBP) I saw a couple that seem along the right lines, a dell one https://www.dell.com/en-uk/shop/2-in-1-laptops/new-inspiron-14-5000-2-in-1/spd/inspiron-14-5491-2-in-1-laptop/cn51901 and a lenovo https://www.lenovo.com/gb/en/laptops/ideapad/ideapad-c-series/Lenovo-IdeaPad-C340-14API/p/88IPC301189 The lenovo seems to have more ram of the bat, although a google tells me that the intel processor is slightly better performing. I know that I can pop the back of the Dell and increase ram and storage, assume that the lennie is the same. Normally I'd head out to a store and have a poke and prod, but human malware has put a stop to that, basically this just a sanity check to make sure I haven't missed anything obvious. (PS. By total coincidence I have a HP pavilion laptop for sale)
  22. The bit I was mildly surprised by was the headphones, for kids especially younger ones I would of expected some volume limiting ones rather than regular ones. Using an Ikea desk rather than a regular Pc desk and normal case is fine, this is a video for the internet after all. The hardware does surprise me, this is Linus after all, (How much of it stays there is not a relevant topic anyway)
  23. I accept the premise for this vid. If someone asked me for a money no object gaming setup then I would probably list what you have. But surely you knew what was coming in the comments, especially on YouTube. Was it deliberate? can a video go viral through comment section activity?
