  1. A short update in case anyone has the same issue and finds this thread via search: I reduced the power limit to 99% in MSI Afterburner and that seems to keep it stable.
  2. Unfortunately Windows reinstall didn't help so it looks like a new card time.
  3. On my first repaste I reused them but afterwards I replaced them with fresh ones, except one 1.5mm because I didn't have the right thickness plus it's not damaged in any way. It's on the power management components (the grey cubes, don't remember the naming). This would be the absolute worst time for it to happen Might get an RTX 3070 and if replacing doesn't help, return it. Such waste of money.
  4. @CommanderAlex I tried to be extra careful with SMDs and, no, I didn't notice that I did. @Bombastinator Cheers. I tried spreading and I tried a big drop in the middle. In the end both gave the same unstable results. Temps are fine and the fans never spin at 100% like before but as soon as GPU usage is 100%, it crashes. And jump to 100% seems rather random as most of the time it sits at 99.x%.
  5. I have no idea how to proceed and would really like to avoid buying a new overpriced GPU right now. Recently I both moved my components to a new case and had to repaste my Gigabyte Windforce 2080 because the paste had dried out. It was running very hot for a while but I just assumed that it was my 30 degree room and SFFPC case. Now the temps are just fine but the second the GPU hits 100% usage (as per GPU-Z and HWInfo logs), it crashes with error "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered." ID 4101. 99.x% usage is fine but 100% = crash. Reseated, repasted multiple times, replaced thermal pads, reinstalled drivers with DDU, all to no avail. What I noticed that coil whine seems to have increased from before - would that be even possible and noteworthy? How could I be sure that my PSU or mobo is not at fault? PSU should be good: couple year old Corsair SF600 Plat. Thankful for any further tips.
  6. No ads was literally the only reason why I started paying for Twitch Prime. And while I have enjoyed a couple of games they gave, damn, if they come back to super annoying, extremely loud and way too repetitive and irrelevant ads once again, fuck em, I'll finally install uBlock. GAH!
  7. Hey, would love some help since I don't know much about network troubleshooting. Both my router and Windows 10 report that my wired network speed is up to 100 Mbps even though both the router (Asus RT-AC68U) and motherboard (Gigabyte GA-AB350M-Gaming 3) support 1 Gbps. My wired network layout is as follows: modem -> patch cable to socket -> wall cabling -> socket to patch cable -> router -> patch cable to PC. So the usual problem should be cabling, right? So, about that: All of my network cabling is CAT6 Router's dashboard reports that my WAN connection is 1 Gbps (i.e., from wall to router). So that should be good. I bought two new CAT6 patch cables to check that maybe problem was with existing ones Connected my PC directly to modem with existing and new cables. One (existing) consistently reported 100 Mbps = bad cable Second (existing) was 100 Mbps = probably bad one though it was used for WAN and in that section was running at 1 Gbps just fine... Third (brand new) = I get 1 Gbps reported both in Windows and router! Reconnect it a couple of times and still stays at 1 Gbps. Yay! Fourth (brand new) = again, 1 Gbps but seems to drop once I reconnect it a few times, i.e., not consistent. OK, so I move back my PC, connect as previously but with the new cable between router and it. Windows still reports 1 Gbps - excellent. Then I put my PC to sleep and go to sleep myself. Next morning, it's back at 100 Mbps! WTF? All patch cables, once used from wall to router report 1 Gbps but when it's router to PC - 100 Mbps... Any ideas what's could be the problem? What where to check?
  8. Steelseries Rival and Filco Majestourch. I'd be interested in Omron switches and I'm not a big fan of Rival's side buttons.
  9. My brother runs a 7970. Would be cool to upgrade to something newer and more power efficient!
  10. I got sick of waiting in line and downloaded the Windows 10 installer from Microsoft. Windows 10 downloaded fine but, when installation began, it was in my local language (Latvian) and it wouldn't let me pick the option to keep my installed programs and personal files (only files or nothing) as apparently my install language mismatches my current system language. I have the region set as Latvia, my location as Latvia and I use our keyboard layout but the actual interface language of Windows 8.1 is English and want to keep it that way. Is there a way to install Windows 10 in English and to keep all of my apps and files? I really don't want to nuke my install or worse - have interface in Latvian (I generally really dislike localized stuff)... I tried to change region/location/keyboard to English UK but still I have the same issue...
  11. This looks so great. I'd really like to have something similar to this (or, well, exactly like this...) but have no valid reason/excuse to ditch my current R5 + full size components.
  12. Exactly, and Galaxy Nexus didn't even get KitKat... And, AFAIK Google said that they'll support a Nexus phone only for 18 months... Then the many top end Android phones that don't get timely or any updates, sheeesh. Say what you want about Apple but I think they do a great job when it comes to iOS updates on older models.
