  1. Sounds like it’s time to reload it and restore from a config backup if you have one. Assuming a hard reboot didn’t do anything. If it doesn’t POST, you probably have a hardware issue.
  2. It sounds like you may have some sort of hardware issue. It wouldn’t hurt to try re-installing your video card drivers though. If that doesn’t work, maybe try swapping in another video card or try onboard graphics if you have them.
  3. I've seen this type of thing happen when certain USB external hard drives are plugged in. I'm not terribly sure why, have you added any external peripherals recently that it might be trying to take a look at when it should be booting instead?
  4. Well this adapter only supports 5GHz. The extender probably runs on 2.4GHz. That'd be my guess as to why it can't see it.
  5. I don't have any experience with this brand of switch but the following resource should at least give you a jumping off point for setting up your link aggregation group. In theory you should be able to define your LAG and then add ports to it. It looks like you have to manually set some speed parameters on the ports that are going to be members of the LAG, probably so the interfaces don't auto-negotiate the wrong speed or turn off or something. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1035546/Quanta-Lb4m.html?page=157#manual
  6. Tunnelblick if you're on a mac.
  7. The phone and the PS4 in this situation have actual antennas in them which help a lot with their connection rates. That micro adapter doesn't. So that's going to be the source of your issues. The only thing that you'd really be able to do without buying different hardware would be to get a USB extension cable and try to use it to get the adapter higher up or out from behind a desk.
  8. I'd venture to guess that it's going to be driver related. Try downloading all of the drivers for the system you dropped the hard drives in, install them all under safe mode, then see where you're at.
  9. I would look at the processor speeds on the routers. A lot of times a router with 3x3 will have a faster processor than one with 2x2. You wouldn’t see any data rate advantage on your 2x2 or 1x1 clients but the router has potential to handle a larger number of connected clients more easily due to its higher spec.
  10. It sounds like it might be a ram issue, possibly a power supply or motherboard issue as well. I'm guessing you're probably running 2 x 8 GB sticks of ram. What happens if you remove one of the sticks and try to duplicate the issue? If it still happens try the other. Also try each stick in each different slot to make sure it's not an issue with one of the slots on the board. From there you could also try a different power supply.
  11. I'm guessing the hard drives have been in use for a while so it might not be a terrible idea to start with new ones anyway. If thats not in the budget you're definitely going to have to transfer the data off to some sort of external media. The NAS will be running its own flavor of RAID which, when initialized, will wipe the drives as mentioned in the previous post.
  12. https://amplifi.com This is a pretty cool system, easy to setup and manage. Works pretty well in my experience too.
  13. I've seen poorly designed networks before where they aren't using a large enough subnet for the amount of devices that are trying to connect. As a result, the DHCP server runs out of IP addresses and until leases expire and the addresses return to the pool you are only able to associate with the network but don't actually get an IP and therefor can't get online or actually do anything. Have you ever heard of anyone else having this type of issue or is it just your computer that seems to be affected?
  14. If you have or know of someone who has a USB wireless card that you could borrow you could try that. If you're still having trouble with a USB card you might have something going on in your OS but if the problems go away you either have a driver issue with your built in card or possibly a hardware issue.
  15. Is there anything in particular that's making you think that the problem might be the power supply? I'm wondering if the issue might be with the monitor or possibly with the cable? Swapping those out might be something to do if you have spares laying around before you go and buy a tester.
