  1. What I expected: A pc building video with helpful tips that I can use as a reference when I want to build my own pc. What I got: An NBA Star building a pc with a zoom tutor on the sideline. So exactly what the title says. Linus talked about this video on an earlier video or wan show and it got my hopes up. Probably a bit too much. I hoped for a few more dumb questions and some more basic tips. Even if it's the advice just to be careful with ram slots, or that you should simply look into your mainboard instructions manual if you are ever unsure about labelling. And the all black design with red highlights doesn't make it easy to see all the details. Especially with those camera angles and shadows. It was hard to see what exactly he is doing. But you can't really blame anyone for that. Why would you want to build a lame looking rig just for educational purposes, especially when it is your own rig? It wa a decent sponsored collab, I just hoped to get either more show, or more tutorial. It's a cool rig though and I wish I'd have something like this next to my desk. Minus the water cooling. Edit: Is the linked giveaway for NA only? Edit 2: Yes. I go back to my corner to cry.
  2. Top 10 rappers Eminem has to fear. Linus rushed through so much information, especially early on. That was a really cool video, I wish I could afford a steam deck.
  3. Congratulations for that massive studio you built. It has excellent puns, inconspicuous death traps and even fucking comic sans. What else could you possibly want? Chairs maybe. And holy moly all that money that's standing around. That was really fun to watch.
  4. Peak clickbait again, goddamit! *sad simp noises*
  5. Let's look at Andy's haul: Stolen, stolen, stolen, stolen, stolen. Nice haul! Damn that small pc build is awesome and the overall setup as well.. And yet this upgrade felt weaker, or less entertaining than the others before? I'm still jealous though.
  6. "Where you expecting that (the battery lidslides so easily into place)?" "Yes, I designed it that way" Those were two awesome videos. However the way Linus narrated all of this gave me the impression that the casters/goldsmiths were incredibly annoyed by the presence of Linus and his team. And the "glitter compensation" xD
  7. They also sent out a patch two days ago that bricked note 8 pros... Just be careful and backup before you update.
  8. If the house is the equivalent to the add-on then you have to assume that you own the property the house is on. And that doesn't make much sense. And what would the harm be? The harm is no greater than actually offering a subscription model to begin with. The average customers that opts for the subscription instead of the purchase is already aware that they will never have 10k for that feature. They will by the sub for a month to test it, and maybe a few more times to impress somebody or drive to a different country without any hassles. Tesla won't get any money or any data from those pleb customers if they don't offer a subscription model. With the subscription they will get data and some money. So why not keep the option for a purchase open? This way Tesla would get data, some money, +x. X being the leftover amount for the full purchase. You probably lose access to fsd when you sell your car. And this "what if" scenario also hinges heavily on the subscription fee. Set it too high and people won't be interested anyway, except for a single test or two. Set it too low and people will just take it as a "freebie"
  9. But this is not for an apartment that you don't own. That is about a subscription for a service for a good that you already own. You don't rent the car. And if you just rent the car then it is a different topic anyway. You can do the same in League of Legends for example. If you buy a champion bundle with several skins, and you own the champion and maybe one of the included skins, then the price for the bundle is reduced by the amount of rp your already owned items would cost. The thing is that there is no harm in actually offering that, regardless of how long you own the car. It has the chance to make somebody purchase the full software unlock, because the costs isn't as terrifying anymore and you have comitted to the subscription for a while. Opinions can change and so can llife circumstances. If you go for a subscription you made a conscious choice, knowing that you are unlikely to use it often and extensive enough to warrant a full purchase. But why not keep that option? Besides, my post regarding that deduction was only trying to make this subscription in any way enticing. To me, a subscription based fsd is just a "tourist/vacation feature" in the first place.
  10. Why not? It's just another incentive to buy the full license. If a sub costs 100€ - 200€ and you used it 10 times then you already spent 1k+ € on it. And maybe you are more likely to fork over 9k €, or less at some point if you keep buying the sub, than paying 10k + subscription fees in total.
  11. With a little luck the subscription payment will count towards the purchase price, but I doubt it.
  12. But how would a subscription service for fsd benefit me? If I'll splurge so much money for a car and I am already interested in fsd, that markup for an fsd feature surely isn't going to break the deal. Especially not when you are allowed to use fsd nearly everywhere (at some point in the future). And looking at the price for fsd, the subscription fee would be around 100€ per month. Or probably more, given that it is a car and knowing what type of person stands behind the company. The only real benefit that I can see would be for holiday trips, for a week or two. Maybe 20€ for that, sure. For the convenience of not having to deal with slightly different traffic laws, speed limits, driving on the "wrong" side of the road, or just for a convenient gps system. I don't know much about Teslas in general but i thought fsd or assisted driving is one of the main features that they advertise?
  13. Because that was the criteria I was given, simple as that. Mostly because of China, Huawei and the fear of not getting android updates for, well, political reasons. I didn't know that Motorola was also china based but Motorola has been a somewhat trustworthy brand here for a long time. And yes, I am aware that I was basically tasked to try to square the circle; getting the best bang for buck while excluding the strongest manufacturers when it comes to good performance for a very reasonable price. I've looked at some reviews for the g8 series and it seems pretty good. I'd probably go with the g8 power over the nokia 5.3, but ultimately that's not my decision to make. Both looked very similar, I personally preferred the motorola's camera from what I could judge by looking at youtube videos.
  14. I am not entirely sure if this is a problem. When I talked with my dad he just told me no huawei, because of the news and because chinese phones might not get the latest android updates anymore. So I kept that requirement a bit broader.
  15. I'll take a look at these, thanks for the rec. It'll be a christmas present from my dad for my mom. I've heard that Pixel phones have a good camera but I am not sure if he wants to gift a used phone. I'll keep that in mind and make the suggestion, thanks!
  16. Christmas time, and I as the "Family IT Guy" got tasked with looking for a budget phone for my mom. But I am not that knowledgeable when it comes to phones. My requirements: Budget - Around 150€, not more than 200€ ( $180 - $240) Android (preferably one that can get Android 11) Good Camera No chinese manufacturer I basically need a good camera that can be used as a phone and has the capability to "do internet and maybe watch youtube videos and play sudoku." It gets used to make quick calls if necessary and make good photos and videos when they have dance lessons or go to family gatherings/events. If it weren't for the last requirement I would pick the Redmi note 9, but because of that, I just don't know. The only other options I found were the Samsung Galaxy A21s and the Nokia 5.3. Are those decent choices for my criterias or are there other phones out there that I should check out?
  17. So it is okay to just go and beg techtubers for stuff, got it. I mean, it is christmas soon, so I might give it a try, there are a few of them out there with too much leftover hardware. My 10yo case and psu could definitely need an upgrade, and so do my ram or my gpu. Is that giveaway just another NA only event? But damn, 100k+ full names and corresponding email adresses, that's a nice haul.
  18. I watch a few smaller korean animal tubers. They put their own little text edits into their videos but no subs. Yet they have some dedicated fans that are willing to translate the moonrunes for common folk like me and I highly apreciate that. And those small tidbits of text don't make too much work. The reason that so few people actually use this feature is probably the realisation that translating a foreign language, and lining up the text with time stamps is much more time consuming than they anticipated. And if you pair that with no pay, rewards, appreciaton or recognition, then the will to continuously do that goes to zero quickly. Especially for voice subs that span several minutes.
  19. Either way, nothing will change for the end consumer. Prices will stay the same, ads will be the same, we consumers get nothing out of it. Many smaller devs and companies might benefit from that. That extra on cash will help them employ an additional person, or use it to increase the wages for their employees. Hahaha I am just kidding. It will be used to buy the first, second or third yacht, and maybe a nice condo in downtown New York for the ceo. Yea, I am slightly exaggerating. But I doubt that it will benefit anyone significantly but the chefs of their respective dev companies and maybe take a small burden off the shoulders of startups if there is the outlook for a higher revenue stream in the end.
  20. It sounds more like it targets music streams in particular, like thos "lofi hip hop music streams". But worded vague enough that they can also just delete any music/copyrighted content like gaming streams that play music inbetween etc.
  21. I will probably stay a pc player for many more years but I really dig those finance options. If you are not only out for the latest, greatest and most up to datest, you get so much game it is an incredible deal. And you can still get the new releases. If they are any good, of course.
  22. Oh look another... ...aaand it is US only. Fuck that... If those screens were massively cheaper, they might make for a good front desk decoration as long as no customer looks at the screen.
  23. I really like the look of that assymetrical monitor. That one visible cable behind the monitor stand though... The table is really great.
