  1. I just noticed this when I started playing Fifa 16 this evening. On other games the coil whine usually happens when I am in-game but not in the loading screen, some games it's throughout but with Fifa 16 it's when I ALT TAB and minimize the window the coil whine kicks in and it is much louder than I have heard before. The fans also start to ramp up by themselves, they are silent whilst playing. Is this a game problem or something wrong with my GPU? My GPU is an Asus GTX 970 Strix. Thanks in advance.
  2. You guys don't get BBC? Aww, it is quite a good episode

    SE215 vs. M50x

When I got my pair of SE 215s there were too big for my ears (fairly average sized) and the cable was waaaay to stiff.
  4. What about this? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hPspwP
  5. Hello, I turned off v-sync whilst playing a couple of games just to see what frame rate would be achieved and I noticed that my GPU makes a high pitched noise but this only happens whilst playing a game as when pauses occur the noise stops immediately and resumes just as quick when the game starts again. I wanted to see if it was the fans so I went into MSI Afterburner and played around with the fan speed testing a bunch of levels to see if it was a specific percentage that caused the noise but nothing. The sound that is made is never heard when doing this. I dont understand what it is because surely putting the fan speed at 35% in game would produce the same sound as 35% on the desktop but there is a high pitched sound. I turned on v-sync on CS-GO and the sound does quieten down to the point that it is no longer noticeable but I would still want to find out what is causing it. I am 100% sure that it isn't coil whine because as I said, spinning the fans up on the desktop doesn't produce this noise. To add to this, when using ALT+TAB the noise also immediately stops and doesn't come back until I go back into game. It could be a game issue as I don't seem to get this with GTA 5 or games that are also as demanding. Thanks in advance.
  6. Don't get an FX4300 and the outdated motherboard. What is your budget?
  7. Pretty sure it won't. Try some low profile ram if you still want that CPU cooler.
  8. Oh ok. In that case swap out the WD Black for a Blue (virtually no difference anymore) and you should be golden.
  9. I'd say save the money and buy a G27, it is one awesome wheel and you can mod the gear stick to make it sequential. With the money saved you can treat him
  10. How about something like this? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/jLK7jX
  11. Buy another SATA cable for a cheap price, you can find them pretty much anywhere. Install the OS on the SSD, wait for the cable to arrive then fill up your HDD.

    Ideal case fans

I like my Fractal Silent Series 3 fans, they come in a 140mm and 120mm flavour and are very cheap. I also love the look of white fan blades spinning but that is preference,
  13. I just cloned my HDD onto a 500gb SSD and the process went smoothly but when I booted back into Windows 10 and tried to open some games to see if it was successful a few games seems to have trouble syncing information. Also when I go into control panel and try to un-install any of the games, including the ones that work, a message comes up basically saying that it is not installed. Should I delete every game and install them again? Or is it a simple fix? Thanks in advance. Edit: When I first click onto any of the steam games it carries out an installation that takes around 10 seconds to complete before I can play the game.
  14. I think I have found the problem. Everything else in the system turns off normally, it is just the HDD that spins up again making me think the whole system was doing it.
  15. It says shutdown when the power button is pressed.
  16. Nope. Would this problem most likely be power supply related?
  17. There's not much else it does, not funny noises or anything. It just boots up for 3 seconds after shutdown before actually turning off.
  18. After clicking shutdown the system powers off normally until it actually turns off as after that the computer boots up again for around 1-3 seconds and then turns off. This just recently started happening. My PSU is the Corsair RM650. Motherboard : Asus Z97M Plus
  19. Maybe an ITX version of the card may be a better choice?
  20. Intro The Blackwidow Tournament Edition is the TKL (|Ten Keyless) version of the popular Blackwidow. Razer removed the Cherry switches from the keyboard for an alternative mechanical switch made in China that are cheaper to manufacture so the overall product cost is brought down. Is this trade off worth it? A simple answer would be yes but let's dive into the deep end to find out more about the product. Packaging and Build As we have come to know already the Razer packaging is pretty much like an Apple product, which is to say that it is beautifully laid out and makes it feel like you bought a premium item which this certainly is. Inside the box you find another box (as Razer always do), a nice protective pouch, manuals, a removable braided cable and the keyboards itself. The keyboard doesn't look like anything special, it is the basic UK layout with a nice Razer logo at the bottom which lights up in the vivid green. After further inspection you see a kind of weird looking '@' symbol and the letter 'r' not being a capital, they don't affect the typing experience but it is a little niggle for someone that wants everything to look alike. Although, after a few days I had forgotten this existed as who looks at the keyboard when they type anyway. Since we are looking at the exterior, let's talk about the build quality. This keyboard is very sturdy, a shake or bend test did nothing, no creaks and no funny noises. I even went onto another level by dropping it from around 1ft onto the feet and nothing. This is a really good selling point due to this keyboard being targeted at the travelling gamer. Also another word on those feet, they have rubber on the bottom to stop the keyboard from slipping and even if you don't want to use the feet there are 5 rubber pads to prevent it as well, this is a big plus. Razer Green Switches and features This is the most important part of the keyboard, how it feels to type on. Personally, I haven't used another mechanical keyboard before but I have felt the switches for a couple of minutes (just bear this in mind when I compare them). They closely resemble the Cherry MX blue swtiches in the way they feel and the amount of noise they make, they are quite loud so if you use it around people it will annoy them unless they love the sound. That's pretty much it, they are nearly the same of MX blues but just from a different manufacture making the keyboard cheaper overall, it is a good trade if you ask me. I won't get into the detailed specifications of the actuation point or the many millions of key presses as I can't really compare the actuation point and can't make an accurate judgement on how long the switches will last. Ok let's get onto the features. This keyboard is TKL so it is missing the number pad which hasn't been missed by me since I got this keyboard. It has media keys across the top and with a hold of the function key you can mute, decrease or increase the volume. You can also pause/play, skip track or go back. F9 holds the key for a macro which works quite well and allows you speed up certain commands which take long to type in various different games. F10 holds the gaming key which locks the windows key so you can't accidentally press it and get thrown out of your game. Conclusion Well, that is pretty much it. This keyboard is very solid and is prefect for someone will a smaller desk or someone that travels a lot with a laptop and they want to use it as an external keyboard. The key switch change that Razer has gone with was a bold move and I think it has paid off very well allowing them to decrease the cost of their keyboards whilst still keeping the same quality. I hope to see other manufactures going with this as well. I would rate this a solid 9/10. Also thank you to Razer for sending me this keyboard to review. 21. Oh, I didn't check that. Thanks for correcting me.
  22. Razer Blackwidow Tournament Edition? $65 on Amazon.
  23. Yeah looks good, I would change the SSD to Samsung but that is preference. Have fun building and using that beast.
