  1. BTW, you dont have a HDD.... a 512 is fine for a boot drive and basic games, but I would heavily reccomend you get a $60 1TB HDD for you steam library
  2. are you asking what you should do next or how you went with your first build?
  3. Try running the same circumstance but run a UFO test (just search it on google, first result) and it'll tell you whats up... if you share that here, we might be able to help you more
  4. This is not gonna be a very popular argument, but check out what special deals Intel products have going.... A lot of 10th gen chips would be on massive clearence and in a couple years you could pick up a really cheap 11th gen Since you are coming from a macbook, I (again, dont know what you need), a 5950x is pretty beefy. Not many people need it That being said, if you wanna go for the AMD platform, look out for MOBO/CPU bundles, and as @HM-2said newer ryzen chips are coming soon(ish)
  5. I meant for the price, still a fuckton of RAM for just a silly playing around server Hell, I've been looking at 16-32 GB for a minecraft server.
  6. When I build a pc, i usually lay everything out on a very big suraface, like my dining room table. having a strap would be impossible for me t wear as i wouldnt be able to move around
  7. All in all dude, maybe dont get it unless you REALLY have a use for it, or have someone who you can resell it to.
  8. The xeon is okay-ish, and running it as a games server (especially with that amount of RAM) wouldbe a much better application then using it as a general use PC
  9. sorry, 128 GB of RAM?!? thats insnae, but sadly only DDR2 so not as impressive I don't agree with @jaslion, it would make for a pretty badn general computer, but a server like that would make for a very good games server for you and your buddies I personally am looking for a server to run a minecraft server, but you can run any games server if it supports it
  10. Update, when I restarted and even changed primary monitor it has gone away... But i still think it may be because it wasnt a "cold start" and therefore might be different
  11. Ah, I'm the opposite lol, my hands are massive. Why no second hand mice? seems as so you're leaving a lot of money on the table, if it's hygiene then perhaps look up videos on how to clean and restore mice? Might be a new hobby
  12. That's very indicative of PSU failure. Your next step should be to get a new PSU. (also make sure that switch on the PSU is the right way lol, happened to me once)
  13. As per @Leventif you simply rotate it so that the hoses are on top, keeping it at the front of the case, that should fix the problem
  14. I use the original G502. second hand you can get some fantastic deals on it I got mine for about 30AUD, but to be fair mine was pretty worn so....
  15. Everytime I boot up my PC in the last couple months, this happens: Today has been the worst, it;s normally only about 2-3 centimeters max. I turn my monitor off and on a couple time to get rid of it and it doesnt show up until I boot up my computer again. Because of that, I'm led to believe it may be a cable fault (It's DP, don't have another cable to test), it's also not affecting my other two monitors so that leads me to believe it's not GPU and since it goes away (and it's a pretty new monitor, just over a year now) that takes out the monitor. I'm about to purchase a bunch of new PC parts, and really dont want to invest money until I know whats causing the problem. Cheers
  16. You killed the motherboard probably, you mustve damaged the socket. And yes, you did fuck up ipdeed lol
  17. I actually heard of a pretty cool system.... Take original price, (what you paid) Take away 10% Then take away 7.5 percent for every year that you've had it (or the oldest component that is major, so basically cpu / gpu) Dont go below 50% original price
  18. I play very CPU dependent games like DCS and HEAVILY modded Minecraft But also a lot of gpu heavy titles, like Kingdom Come
  19. your point doesnt makl sense, are you saying my GTX1070ti will not be the bottleneck? or it will?
  20. again, i play at 1440p Also, as ive said, no matter what its gonna be GPU bottleneck, so the slight perfromence difference the 3600 has is useless as my gpu will hold it back
  21. GTX 1070ti, heavily overclocked running at 1440p 144hz Also, i dont generally play below high or ultra on anything
  22. Over the summer break (for me anyway here is aus, dec-jan) im planning on doing a lot of video editing and hobbyist work.... catching up on all my projects lol with the double performence, is that true aswell in games? or is that gpu bottlenecked anyway?
  23. I'm using a pretty crappy dell MOBO (long story, got it for free tho) no its running fully stock
