Linus thinks the soundbar is overkill? How about this 😄

The room is 3.3*2.5m (10.8*8.2ft), so only slightly bigger than the storage locker!

I believe Linus stated it in one of his videos that Nick Light is the COO and basically he's the next in line in decision making when he's not available.

@GabenJr   @LinusTech I work for Parliament here in the UK (as a researcher for a Member), and I believe we have some relations with the exec team/public affairs team at Apple. Could write to them using my position in Parliament to see what they can do. It usually works.

I am happy to provide proof I work for em (have my official email and other bits of ID) - if a mod or yourselves want to check this.

This has been pointed out before, and it's worth addressing: This is an artifact of our capture device - It was recorded in the Rec 601 Partial colour space, but while that looked correct for the regular HDMI capture, the mCable does a conversion and outputs to Rec 709 Full if the display supports it (our capture device exposes this capability via EDID). We later confirmed this after we noticed black crush in our histograms during editing, and Marseille corroborated this.

Honestly, Taran has been on fucking point this week with the editing. This week has had some of the funniest LTT vids in a long time. Good job Taran.

Are these scheduled posts or is @nicklmg being pulled away from HoTS to post this at this hour?

EDIT: Also, this video would be another good candidate for iperf (as I recommended here).

Every time you guys do a networking video you use some online speed test website as a performance benchmark which is basically worthless as evident in the last video (the Ubiquiti "Long Distance WiFi" one where upload and download speeds were wonky) and you do a large file transfer which gives a good view of real world performance, but can be inconsistent and depends on the speeds of other hardware versus just the networking hardware. If you want to truly benchmark your network and get a consistent result, go grab iperf. There's a version for Windows, Linux, and even an ARM variant for other devices. It's only 2 commands (one on the server, one on the client) and will give you a better view of the full network performance between two devices.

Originally I was going to suggest setting up an internal web server and run your own speed test page on the LAN, but after much testing with this I find iperf to be much more accurate and if you reverse the roles (client vs server) you can get both upload and download speeds relatively quickly.

Speedtest.net wasn't the best idea for testing speeds. Linus should have used iperf to test local network speeds
