  1. unless you have critical systems running such as servers or hospital equipment, a UPS isn't necessary, just use a power strip with power surge protection. It isn't a MUST buy item, it just gives you the luxury to save and shut down your computer. Personally I just use a surge protector.
  2. R9 380 matches it already but if you can wait, it might be worth it to either save money or get better performance.
  3. You could try reinstalling a uncracked or official version to fix this.
  4. does it come up in the disk management? If no it looks the the HDD hardware has failed and you might not be able to get the data back. You could try a professional data recovery but I can't promise anything
  5. No key? Looks like you're.....locked out. In all seriousness, you could try purchasing a new key from Kinguin for cheap. like maybe 25 if you can't find a way to get it back.
  6. I can't say for sure but it might be worth it to troubleshoot it this way.
  7. In that case you could try getting a new HDD or SSD and reinstalling your OS. If that isn't your only storage device (because 240GB is pretty small), you could try moving CSGO to the other drive and see if that helps.
  8. What OS are you using? Windows 10 has a bug that produces similar results. Also: Kek, because we don't know what CS:GO is.
  9. 980 is still pretty beast. I agree with @Dr_Pleeper. Upgrade the CPU and motherboard,
  10. I believe the battery is a CR2025. Also a cool trick I saw on instructables is to take an empty pen case and heat it up so that it's melting blow out any flames that may be on itand put it onto the screw and let it cool to get a custom screwdriver for it.
  11. no, you're on the right track. It seems the internal battery that keeps the save has died. Best bet would be to replace it.
  12. What's the storage like on it? I've heard that there's a new option to make an SD card part of the system memory or some sort? Is this any good? I'm not sure I'd like that "always on" feature seems like a useless feature if the phone is in my pocket often times.
  13. For video editing, I reccomend an i7, which are geared more towards video editing. Maybe a 6700k.
  14. check out kinguin, games are pretty cheap, Saints Row the third for a dollar.
  15. Ubuntu is a relatively new Linux distro and it might have a difficult time running on that. I tried installing it on a similar computer with 1 GB of RAM and it was so slow. I wouldn't reccomend it.
  16. The PC won't shut off until it gets into the 95+ Range, I've dealt with that before. You could always try cleaning it out and applying new thermal paste and making sure the CPU cooler is making full contact to rule out overheating.
  17. Use it as a NAS maybe? Set it up for folding? Set up a gaming server?
  18. Welcome to the Forum! To start off, have you tried checking the connections? Even if you haven't touched them since before this has happened, it doesn't hurt to try. This does seem like a motherboard issue though.
  19. Have you noticed any problems with the GPU? I feel like that could be the cause of the issue. Maybe you could try stress testing it?
  20. I think you're suppose to post something you think about this.. so what do you think about this. Is it necessary or overkill
  21. budget? I reccomend going with an r9 390 or if it's in your budget, 980 ti
  22. I've actually seen the exact opposite on my two rigs. I have a 380 and a 960 and my 380 does better than my 960. My R9 380 hits around ~155k while my 960 ~152k granted that's not a huge difference but even so, my 380 is doing better than my 960. Maybe I just got a good one or something and i'm the odd one out.
  23. That's very nice, 980 ti SLI damn this build is probably something like $2500-$3000. freakin sweet man. GG
