  1. Hi Berris, I've just checked the BIOS and no EFI/secureboot settings have been switched on. Any other ideas?
  2. Hello everybody, I hope you're ready for a right doozy because I've got myself into a right pickle The other day I decided to factory reset my PC for various reasons, regardless I tried to factory reset my PC through the Windows 11 Settings app, choosing the option to clear everything. It then went through the expected process of rebooting but something went wrong, though I have no idea what because it didn't provide an error codes that I am aware of. Upon rebooting my PC, it now loads the Windows lock screen where it has my one and only user listed creatively named 'Matthew Bowker' after yours truly. However, it no longer has a profile picture and when I try to login with my password which it recognises, I get the follow error: 'The User Profile Service service failed the sign-in. User profile cannot be loaded.' As it is the only administrator account and no other user accounts existed on this PC prior to resetting it, I would imagine there is no other way of accessing Windows? Or creating another user, even a temporary one, from the lock screen? That's the first issue. The second issue is that I seem to be unable to load any boot drives. Normally in this sort of situation I would mumble 'ffs' under my breath, grab my nearest secondary computer and create a new Windows boot drive to do a clean Windows install, but not today. I've now made 4-5 boot drives with different USB sticks and versions of Windows, through various services such as the Mac Terminal, Boot Camp Assistant and Rufus to absolutely zero joy, of any kind. Each time when hitting f12 on boot and choosing the inserted USB drive, I'm met with a black screen with a white flashing underscroll in the top left corner. From my research this very helpful and informative error code which means your drive is borked, but because I've tried multiple drives at this point, I'm getting the impression it's not my drive that's stuffed, but in fact I am stuffed. All I want to do is reset my computer with a clean install of Windows, download Deep Rock and shoot some monsters on space rocks whilst playing a Dwarfs! If anyone is able to help I would be very grateful! I also apologise for my poor sense of humour, I'm at the point where I will have to laugh otherwise I will smash my keyboard over my monitor. Thanks in advance, Matt
  3. My PC just cut out again about half an hour since my last post. I'm afraid I don't understand all the graphs or what each of the graphs are measuring, would you mind looking at the data for me and giving me a conclusion? Also the computer was in sleep mode for about 15 hours just in case you were wondering why the graph is flat for a long period of time. HWiNFO_Data_01.CSV
  4. Thanks @cr8tor. I have been running this program for now since your last comment and although the PC hasn't crashed yet I did decide to have a little look at the live data and I noticed two reading which are showing red, is this a problem? Power Reporting Deviation (Accuracy) under the CPU [#0]: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X: Enhanced heading.
  5. Hello everyone, I need some urgent help. Recently I posted that my PC kept cutting out and after a while I thought I had diagnosed the problem with the help of various users on this forum but unfortunately the problem keeps occurring and I don't know why. If you want to see my other post he's a link. To give some up-to-date information and a bit more detail here's basically what's happened so far. A few days ago I upgraded my 5-6 year old PC with a new motherboard, CPU and RAM which to me essentially feels like an entirely new build, but since then my PC has crashed probably about 7-8 times (3 times today (I've been using it a lot more today than in previous days, I don't feel like it's crashing any more frequently today)). The parts I'm using in this 'new build' are the following: AMD Ryzen 7 3800x GIgabyte B550M Aorus Pro M-ATX motherboard 16GB DDR4 Kingston Hyper-X memory 120GB Samsung Evo SSD 1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD AMD RX5700 GPU Ubit WIE7265 Wi-Fi and bluetooth PCIe card (currently not installed and hasn't been for the last 3 crashes) Seasonic S12-550W 80 Plus Bronze PSU Since the last forum post I have checked all the wiring making sure everything is connected properly, removed the Ubit Wi-Fi card as some people had experienced their PC's crashing whilst using it, I've checked temperatures of the CPU, GPU and PSU making sure nothing is over heating causing the system to shut down without any concerns and I have replaced the Seasonic PSU with an old XFX XPS-550W-SEW (I think that's the model number) PSU and I'm still experiencing crashing as though there has been a power cut (even though I know that's definitely not the case). I have also done a clean install of Windows 10 when I moved from my old CPU and motherboard to the new system. I'm now really unsure of what else could be causing this problem. Could a program be causing the PC to instantly power off without any warning? I think on every occasion when the PC has shut down I have had Affinity Designer and Microsoft Edge open but would the computer just cut out like it has been because of a single program? Is it likely to be hardware related? If so what hardware is the likely cause of this sort of issue? The CPU, motherboard and RAM are all completely new parts and I've tried two PSU's now. Basically I'm a bit clueless as to the cause of this issue and after paying £500-600 for all the new parts it's pretty concerning. I would really appreciate some help! Thanks in advance. Cheers, Matt
  6. Update: after removing the wireless card I haven't had any issues with random shut downs for the last couple of days. Now that I need to find a new wireless card, are there any that you would recommend for an AMD build?
  7. The CPU is normally sits at about 60C when I'm working on design stuff but normally operating at 30-45C when just browsing the web and stuff. I'm not sure about the GPU I would imagine it's not really doing much unless I play games. All the fans run normally just before and after the power cuts out. And the PSU fan seems to be running fine.
  8. What PSU would you recommend for this build?
  9. I was working on it but nothing intensive, just some basic vector work in Affinity Designer.
  10. Yeah the two ram dimms are inserted into the correct slots and I do have XMP enabled.
  11. Hey everyone, I recently built a new PC (literally 2-3 days ago) and since building it the PC have turned off twice now as if there has been a power cut without any blue screen, any warning or anything. When I power it on again, it just boots up as if nothing has happened so there isn't any way (that I know of at least) of checking what the issue was to cause it to cut out. The parts I'm using are the following: AMD Ryzen 7 3800x Gigabyte B550M Aorus Pro 16GB DDR4 3200MHz HyperX RAM 120GB Samsung Evo SSD 1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD AMD RX5700 Ubit AC 1200Mbps Bluetooth WiFi Card Seasonic S12III 550W PSU I've done a quick Google search but a lot of the results don't seem to be applicable to my build. Does it sound like faulty hardware? If so what is likely the cause? I really need help with this. Thanks in advance, Matt
  12. Cheers guys, really helpful I think I'll wait for Zen 3 and go from there.
  13. I did think about a Ryzen 7 3700x but they're a completely different price bracket for what I was planning on spending and seeing as my i5 Surface Laptop (first gen) just about manages my workload when I'm travelling, I thought the 3600 would manage just fine.
  14. I don't have any interest in RGB lighting in my case so that's really not a factor to me and also I'm looking at the £300-350 for the CPU, motherboard and RAM.
  15. Hi everyone, I'm looking to upgrade my 5 year old PC with components which are going to last me for the next 4-5 years. Currently I'm running a Intel i5 4570 CPU and a AMD RX 5700 GPU (which I bought on sale earlier this year) with the intent of upgrading my CPU later this year. I'm a graphic designer and photographer by trade but I also really enjoy gaming on PC so I'm planning on upgrading to the AMD Ryzen 5 3600, however I'm really struggling to decide whether to go for a B450 or a B550 motherboard. From my understand the main benefits of choosing B550 is PCIe 4 x16 and M.2 slots as well as support for Ryzen 4000 series CPU's which are expected to be released later this year. As I have already chosen my CPU which I'm hoping will last me the next 4-5 years, as well as PCIe gen 4 SSD's not really showing their value unless you deal with large data workloads like video editing, and how GPU's still haven't saturated PCIe 3 yet, is there any other reason for me to favour B550 over B450? I would really like to downsize from an ATX motherboard to a mini-ITX but if it's worth it for me to get a B550 motherboard I will probably have to get a mATX motherboard as B550 ITX's are too expensive for me. This would kind of suck as I haven't really found any affordable, truly mATX optimised cases but I would make that sacrifice if B550 would give me better longevity. I hope that makes sense. I would really appreciate some help. Thanks in advance. Matt
  16. I have a AMD RX 5700. I'm also looking at a mini ITX motherboard because I already have a ITX case I will be using from a previous build. You're saying the R5 3600 will cover me, CPU wise, for the next 4-5 years? Even if games move to using more cores?
  17. Hi everyone I'm looking to upgrade my CPU, motherboard and memory later this year. A couple of months ago I upgraded my GPU and SSD which is why I'm only looking at upgrading CPU, mobo and RAM for now. I've always been a console gamer but this year I have really enjoyed PC gaming and so I'm wanting to upgrade my PC so it's able to play similar Xbox Series X games, Halo Infinite in particular. From doing some research I've had conflicting opinions, almost all 'Xbox Series X PC builds' have used either a AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or even a 1600 AF both 6 core 12 thread CPU's or the AMD Ryzen 7 3700 a 8 core 12 thread CPU but unfortunately for me the R7 3700 is too expensive. Becuase it's too expensive my question is, how important is 8 cores going to be over the next 4-5 years? I would rather go for a cheaper CPU like the R5 1600 AF but if games are going to be more dependant on 8 cores in say a year or two, I don't want to be spending more money to upgrade my CPU again. I've also been looking at the AMD R7 2700x as it falls in my price range with 8 cores however, when comparing it to the R5 3600, the R5 3600 averages higher FPS in todays games which makes it a better choice for now but I don't know whether that will change if games switch to being more reliant on more cores. Additionally I'm planning on buying the Gigabyte Aorus B450 mini ITX motherboard and 16GB of DDR4 3200 MHz ram to accompany which ever AMD CPU I end up purchasing. I look forward to getting your thoughts on these questions and a bit of advise. Thanks in advance. Matt
  18. What kind of performance hit should I expect? I was thinking for a year or two.
  19. Hi all, I'm planning to upgrade my desktop later this year and I'm trying to gauge what would be the best parts for my budget. My current build is a Intel i5 4570, Asus H97-Plus motherboard, 2x4GB DDR3 1600 Mhz RAM, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD and a AMD RX5700 all powered by a 750W PSU. I purchased the GPU earlier this week which is definitely over powered for my current build but I wanted to make sure that when I upgrade my CPU, motherboard and RAM, I'm not limited to my GPU. The parts I'm thinking of upgrading to are the AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Gigabyte B450 ITX motherboard and 1x16GB DDR4 3600MHz RAM which I've found brings me to the £350 budget I set for myself. My question though is, is this the best bang for my buck? I'm really only looking to upgrade my CPU, motherboard and RAM. My requirements are mini ITX motherboard and support for M.2 NVME storage as I would like to upgrade from a 256GB SSD to a 1TB NVME SSD later in the future. I use my desktop for a lot of graphic design using Affinity Design/Publisher and photo editing with Adobe Lightroom with some casual gaming on the side of course. I'm normally a console gamer but recently I've really enjoyed playing on PC and so I want this build to be an alternative to buying the new Xbox Series X when it releases later this year. I love Halo so I'm wanting to get ready for Halo Infinite when that releases as well. I hope that all makes sense. Let me know if you need any more information. Cheers! Matt
  20. I'm using a i5 4570 which I know is an old CPU. How much more performance am I likely to see if I upgraded to say a Ryzen 5 3600? I plan to upgrade but not this year I don't think.
  21. Hey everyone, Recently I did a bunch of research when buying my new graphics card and I was going to buy a AMD RX 5600 XT but then at checkout I decided to get a AMD RX 5700 as there was a deal going at the time on ebuyer which actually made the 5700 a cheaper GPU. Anyway when I was doing my research I felt like I had covered everything but when I unboxed the GPU yesterday and installed it I realised I hadn't even looked into PCIE compatibility. Thankfully PCIE 4 is backwards compatible and my Asus H97-Plus motherboard supports PCIE 3. My concern now is, will there be a noticeable difference in GPU performance between using a PCIE 4 motherboard or will my PCIE 3 motherboard be enough? I can't really afford to change my motherboard, CPU and memory right now but I'm concerned that I have massively limited the performance of my new GPU. Any wisdom would be much appreciated. Thanks, Matt
  22. Is a bios update easy to do for the 5600?
  23. If the 5700 is better than a 1660 Super, why do you say the 1660 Super is better suited for my PC?
  24. Is the RX 5600XT better than the 1600 Super at stock? I don't want to have to mess around with anything that could potentially brick my GPU.
