  1. Just wanna double check before I place the order, something like this okay and should work or are there any issues with it? Thanks. https://www.amazon.com/VCZHS-Extension-Repeater-Booster-Chipsets/dp/B07JVNYWRF/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=active+usb+3.0+extension+cable&qid=1667311288&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI0LjU1IiwicXNhIjoiMy45MyIsInFzcCI6IjMuNjEifQ%3D%3D&refinements=p_n_feature_ten_browse-bin%3A23555329011&rnid=23555276011&s=pc&sprefix=active+u%2Caps%2C75&sr=1-5
  2. Would a USB 3.0 webcam be more likely to work? I don't really mind buying a new one if that's the case.
  3. I have this webcam which was working fine before I decided to relocate my PC tower and run longer cables back to the desk. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07925CYP5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I bought one of these 20 foot USB extender cables, but the webcam won't work with it. It makes the Windows sound that it recoginizes the device but there's no video output. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PYPHJYR?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Any recommendations to get back in business would be appreciated, thanks!
  4. I don't have a number to give, but if it was 10-20 degrees hotter I probably couldn't hold it. Not super useful or accurate, sorry!
  5. Yeah, it has a source and display end. Though the ends plugged into the GPU aren't as hot as the one going into the monitor...and they have a RTX 3080 exhausting on them.
  6. I bought this 30 foot DisplayPort cable recently since I moved my PC tower out of my room. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PYL24RY?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I'm having no problems at the moment, but have noticed that the shell/end that you plug into the device is very hot. I can touch it and maintain contact without hurting or burning myself, but it's definitely toasty. I have a same second cable running into a second monitor, and that one is not quite as hot. The hot cable is plugged into a 3440x1440 screen whereas the less warm one is plugged into a 2560x1440 screen, both 144hz. I assume the hotter one is processing more data because of the higher resolution? But either way, is it okay that this gets hot or a potential issue? The actual cable itself is cool, it's just the ends that heat up.
  7. This is the webcam I was trying to get working, Unzano UHD920: https://www.amazon.com/Microphone-Unzano-Computer-Streaming-Conference/dp/B08GPZK2ZQ But at this point I'm not concerned with the webcam and just want to see if there's anyway to get the DisplayPort receiving a signal again. EDIT: It's working again. I read something to unplug the monitor completely and leave it for a few minutes, and that seemed to do the trick. DisplayPort is operational again.
  8. About a week ago I ordered some USB extender cables and 30 ft fiber DisplayPort cables to relocate my PC tower into another room. USB: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PYPHJYR?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details DisplayPort: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PYL24RY?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Everything with the move went fine and was working alright with the exception of my USB web cam. I ignored it for awhile as it wasn't super important to me, but today I wanted to get it working and tried plugging in the cable that goes from the monitor (USB-B I think that is?) to the USB extender, and then the webcam into one of the monitor's USB's. When I tried that I lost the signal to the monitor, it was still on but said no signal and was black. I've tried undoing everything and it still doesn't work. I have two of these DisplayPort cables running for two monitors, the other monitor is fine. I've tried switching the DisplayPort cables on the monitors but the affected one is still no signal, while the other works...so the cables aren't the issue. I've also tried the "Reset to Initial Settings" on the monitor but no luck there. Did something get fried permanently, is there anything else I can try to fix it? I ran a HDMI cable to the monitor not getting a signal and that does work. So did the DisplayPort get fried? The affected monitor is a LG UltraGear 34GP950G-B. EDIT: It's working again. I read something to unplug the monitor completely and leave it for a few minutes, and that seemed to do the trick. DisplayPort is operational again.
  9. Yep this was the issue, I feel dumb for not reading closer. Appreciate you pointing it out.
  10. I purchased 2 of these from Amazon, 30 foot fiber DisplayPort cables: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PYL24RY?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details And a 50 foot HDMI cable: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B5GXKRNJ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I wanted to relocate my PC tower out of my room, but when plugging these cables into the PC and the monitor, I get no display. I'm able to remote into my PC via my phone and can see it made it into Windows with no issues. I've tried resetting the CMOS, and if I switch back to the shorter DisplayPort cables I was using originally I get an image with no issues. I find it hard to believe I got 3 duds, any ideas what is going wrong, any possible fixes? The monitors are LG UltraGear 34GP950G-B if that matters. Thanks
  11. I'm thinking about 2 of these DP cables for the monitors: https://www.amazon.com/Displayport-DGHUMEN-Supports-32-4Gbps-HDR-Black/dp/B09PYH2Q9X/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=fiber%2Bdisplayport%2Bcable%2B50ft&qid=1665690983&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIwLjAwIiwicXNhIjoiMC4wMCIsInFzcCI6IjAuMDAifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=fiber%2BDisplayport%2Caps%2C50&sr=8-3&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.006c50ae-5d4c-4777-9bc0-4513d670b6bc&th=1 Does anyone have a recommendation on what to use to extend the USB devices?
  12. I have two 1440p/165hz monitors using display port cables, and also my tower is hooked up to my TV via HDMI. The heat generated by the tower is becoming bothersome so I'd love to get it out of the room. So for a 25-50 foot run, what do I need to not degrade the user experience at all? Also any recommendations on extending USB devices as well? Thank you. Edit: I see there are fiber DisplayPort cables but they're about $85-100 a pop on Amazon, do I need one for each monitor or is there some way to save money and get by with one and split something on the end?
  13. Looking in the Sound Settings, if I talk the microphone's volume bar hardly jumps even with it set at 100. If I click Device Properties and move the volume slider down a bit and back to 100, it works as intended. I find myself having to do this about once a day, I tend to leave my PC on too so it's not like something I need to do after rebooting. Discord is the only program I use for my microphone. Any ideas why it's behaving like this and anything I can do? It's not a huge deal or anything but if I can fix it I'd prefer to.
  14. I should have mentioned I also had this issue on Windows 10. When the crashing first started happening, I didn't attribute it to the undervolt and thought it was 11, so I went back to 10 for a few hours and ran into the same thing there.
  15. I'm running a RTX 3080 in Windows 11, playing Mortal Online 2. The game would be stable for days at a time with zero issues, but after attempting to undervolt using MSI Afterburner, the game began to crash. The strange thing is even after reverting the changes the game would still crash. I've tried using DDU to remove the drivers and reinstall them but that doesn't help. Out of desperation, I just reinstalled Windows and everything was fine again. I decided to give undervolting one more go and ran into the same issue where it was stable until I tried undervolting, crashes began, and undoing the changes it kept crashing. I could see in HWMonitor that the GPU was getting the stock voltage and using stock clocks after reverting the changes, so I'm not sure what the issue is.
